The owner assist us when we arrived to register to play laser tag. We had seven in our group and opted to play unlimited number of games. Each game took 20" from start to finish and was awesome, the only complaint was that each laser weapon point of impact when trigger. Was pulled were different. We had a fundraiser here for our rescue and to be honest we had an absolute blast. They have an awesome course and it is bigger than others I have been to. It is a tad outdated inside but over all it is fun for all ages. Customer service was fine. They were young kids who this was clearly their summer job. I came to win, I came to crush the competition and get that sweet victory in the form of a free game voucher Old school arcade, tokens, machines that only take cash, claw machines that have the weakest grip this side of the Mississippi... Didn't waste much on those as I am a huuuuggge wonderland fan and like to go hard there with the boys on the reg, yo! The facility was clean, nice, and accommodating to the birthday party, they even give you separate games for the party. The cool thing was after your game they gave you score cards so you could see and compare all your stats and rub them in each others faces The equipment was of very good quality I would say and we had a very visible laser which made it way more fun. Booked a "glow party" experience for my son & I was rushed the entire time making my anxiety level go through the roof. The party host we got rolled her eyes the entire time and at one point asked us if we could do the birthday cake in 5 mins. I tried to have a non stressful birthday but I think it was the most stressful one I have done. The owner seemed nice but also annoyed that I asked for time to be able to sing happy birthday to my son. The guns were also all mostly dead when my guest tried playing. We had our 8 year old's birthday party here and it was huge hit! Nick, was the Game Master in charge of our party and he was absolutely fantastic!! He interacted with both the kids and the adults extremely well. He communicated very well and had a great attitude. The black light room was a huge hit with our kiddos. The laser tag arena is huge! Three games were included in the party and they let parents play against the kids if you so choose. The only down side is that they don't make food onsite, they order from dominos annnnnd no alcohol on site. The latter isn't the end of the world but as a parent hosting a child's party, a glass of wine would have been greatly appreciated. Even without the booze, we still had a fabulous time. When it comes to laser tag, I defer to the wisdom of 13-year old boys. We've been to Laserport in Beaverton a few times, but decided to give this place a try since it is closer to our home and I'm scouting for b-day party locations. Compared to Laserport, there are some positives and negatives. Positives: *Better layout - multi-level so you can go up ramps and be a sniper from above. *Quicker entry - no pre-programming player's names so you MAY start your game quicker although we had a bit of a wait on a Sunday afternoon. *Lots of specials/discounts - Cindy mentioned the discounts for good report cards and we went on Sunday so adults play free when you pay for a child's game. Negatives: *Rather than an instructional video, the "Game Master" gives you a primer on the highlights of how to play and listening to a 15-year old lecture you on game play is interesting (read excruciating) *The gun is less intuitive to hold and shoot - at least that is my excuse for my low score. *They have default names for the three teams based on characters from Star Wars, Transformers and Super Mario. I kinda like choosing my own name (Mominator is cooler than Count Dooku) *The arcade area was kind of a disaster - dirty and lots of games were out of service Overall I had more fun here than Laserport and my son prefers it, so we'll probably have his next party here instead. A pack of 13-year old boys heard me asking the staff about the facility and pulled me aside and proceeded to give me the lowdown on all of the lasertag facilities in Portland ("Bullwinkles blows man! Laserport's OK. This place is the BEST"). **Update May 14, 2008 - I've now hosted two birthday parties here and they were wonderful. It was very easy to reserve the space, our party host was fun and flexible, and everything went very smoothly. Since it was a warm mid-week evening, we had the place almost all to ourselves. And the cake they provide... it tastes exactly like a Twinkie. The pizza (cheese or pepperoni) is from Pizza Schmizza if you go with their deluxe party. My scores have also improved. Yes. That's right. I still watch Disney movies when I'm sick, play laser tag with friends, go to Chuck E Cheese's and Oaks Park, and wear shoes I've had since 7th grade. Don't judge me. This place is aight. I like terrorizing children and this is the perfect place to do so. I hadn't done laser tag since Q-zar in California. The service at this place for an 8 year old little girls birthday party is at a zero stars as far as customer service could go. Any kind of service I needed I had to ask for, not once was I given what I had paid for without requesting it as far as soda, cups, plates and other accommodations that were guaranteed in the advertisement. They also tried to refuse us a 3rd laser tag game when we had only played 2 out of the 3 promised games, but allowed us to play. We cleaned up after our party and very specifically told them not to throw anything away because we had already cleaned up and that only the plastic pitchers needed picked up, but instead they threw out half a Costco pizza we were planning on taking home and a full tray of macaroon! When my wife had mentioned to them that they had made several mistakes and gave us all poor service the manager then proceeded to yell at us "you overstayed your welcome passed an hour". The only reason we stayed late was because they refused our game and made us wait! This place is ran by teenagers and broken, poor and disgraceful management. I would never recommend a birthday party at this place. 250$ for a subpar experience, no customer service and lack of being provided what was advertised. Awful. Ultrazone was okay--I came here with a Groupon, and the bases weren't clearly explained to us. You can only tag each base (that isn't yours) once, and even if there are only two teams playing, the other bases are still in play. I like Laserport in Beaverton quite a bit more since they print out your detailed scorecard and let you choose your laser tag name. My son celebrated his 8th birthday at Ultrazone on Saturday and had a great time. Our party of 7/8/9 year old boys loved the experience. Our party hostess, Sam was excellent. She lead the boys through the process and made the process even more enjoyable. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to play our first game with just our party and were teamed with another party of like aged boys for our second game. We really appreciated the format of laser tag - break / pizza - laser tag - cake/presents. The boys, including adults loved the arcade games as well and could have happily stayed the entire day playing. The entire process from planning through execution was flawless. We will be back and recommend Ultrazone and their birthday party services. read more

I don't usually do these things, but I have a very low tolerance for willful misrepresentation. Ultrazone advertises "Unlimited Laser Tag" on Fridays for $20. They neglect to tell you three things: 1) There are three separate groups, and each group has to wait through two rounds before they can play again (leaving a maximum of six 15 minute rounds if you stay for four hours); 2) If you don't buy your passes at the same time as the rest of your group, you can't play together; and 3) You can not buy just one round. When I was running a few minutes late, my friend asked if they could sit out a round and let someone else use their turn. They told him they could, but did not tell him even then that they would have to wait 30 minutes between rounds. After driving for 40 minutes with two kids in tow, I arrive to discover that the only way we could play would be to pay $60 to play without our friends. I highly suggest that they clarify these details on their website so that in the future no one drives for 80 minutes to end up with highly disappointed kids read more

Excellent venue for a kids day out. This is a small place as most Arcades go, but it is very clean and well kept. All the machines work which is a rarity these days and the staff is attentive and pleasant. The Laser tag room is bigger than most places I've taken the kids to and the organization of the individual session is also better. We will be back....often! read more

I have to admit that I've never actually played Laser tag. I've stood in the game room slash lobby a multitude of times while my two oldest, multiple tweener friends and my husband on occasion, have all gone into the dark room. What I do know is that they always come out laughing and want to go back for more. So what's my excuse? I never give up an opportunity to use the excuse, "Who's going to stay with the baby?" There's a small arcade that the kids can play in, too. My daughter had her 8th birthday here. They do all the work, including cutting and serving up the cake. The pizza is pretty lousy, though. The coolest thing that they offer is a free game of laser tag for kids who show a good report card. We go every trimester! read more

We had our monthly sales meeting thru work here in one of the conference rooms. After the meeting my boss rented the place for us, I think there were about 12 of us between the ages of 30-50. We had an absolute BLAST!!!! And they give you score cards so after each game (we played 2) we were comparing to see who did the best. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was because we couldn't run, we had to walk and I kept finding myself walking faster and faster until I was running, then getting told to stop running. Although, I know it's for kids and probably a safety thing for them. Think about taking your adult friends, it's good wholesome fun. read more

Good prices if you do some of the deals they offer. I got an ultimate pass from around 8:00 or 9:00 pm until closing. This ended up working perfectly because my group of friends and I are in our 20's and by that time most kids went home. The arcade area is okay, not really much to do but we didn't come for that so we didn't care. The actual laser tag area is surprisingly larger than expected. Let me preface this review with the fact that the kids had an awesome time. From a parents point of view though, it gave me pause. We went to the teen night with the belief that the girls would be surrounded by other teens. Instead there was a group of 40 year old men, dressed like pirates allowed in to play with the kids. One male employee allowed his friends behind the counter in street clothes where the food is being made and they were goofing off for a good hour. This same employee stripped down in the parking lot to a tank and underwear in front of our girls because he spilled on his white shirt. I don't think there was a single adult(other than the pirates) running this place. But, like I said, the teens had a great time running around with the employees. read more

Ultrazone is a really awesome place to go for any occasion! I'm in my 20s and I totally enjoy getting together with friends and playing games and playing arcarde games. Also, it's really family oriented so it's a great place to bring young ones. It's a safe environment and they really make sure you have a wonderful experience.
