Todo muy Rico rapido. Servicio excellent. Y el Ambience es super Family Friendly. And the food super good. And live music nice

Tried this place with my wife for the first time. Service was excellent, food was good and reasonably priced but the only downside was the music. It seems to be a family centered restaurant but the music was inappropriate and had obscene language in it.

It was just ok, next time I would only get guac and apps. Service was just ok, it was a Monday night but it was busy. I also felt like it was a little bit dirty around our booth. Guac table side was so on point. The dinners were just ok. A little mushy. Dessert was good. Margaritas were huge.

Chicken and shrimp fajitas

There was a half hour wait during a weekend dinner time. Guacamole - I guess it's a must in a Mexican restaurant. It was made fresh in a cart by your table. Fajitas Vallarta - this fajitas supposed to be mix of chicken and shrimp. The whole hot plate has TWO shrimps!!! Very tasteless. Tacos Los Cabos - big breaded fish that has so much oil with very little mango topping. If I were to come again, I would get either of the main dishes again.

Carnitas chimichanga

Service was so friendly and attentive. I Love this location! I tried a new margarita- pretty sweet but still good, they are huge!! I ordered the ceviche and it was made table side, bright and flavorful. I asked for a chimichanga with carnitas meat inside and they accommodated, which I appreciate! Nice lunch visit

Chicken tacos, burrito San Jose, pomegranate margarita, house margarita, chips and salsa

Plaza Azteca is a decent local restaurant chain. The sicklerville location is my preference in comparison to the marlton location, based on ambiance and service. The food is delicious and the drinks are good, but too sweet for my liking. The chips are also always warm and are my favorite in the area. With that said, I've been to this location 4 times and I find that their food and service is rather inconsistent.

This is my 2nd time here. The 1st time, I had the Prickly Pear margarita and it brought me back because it was so good and I'm not a margarita fan. This visit was incredibly disappointing. I orders the margarita and #1, you see how red it is; not enough tequila, of any. My waitress / server only spoke minimal English so it was tough asking questions. I had the rib eye tacos. There was fat on every inch of this flat steak. No flavor. I added salsa to it. I will not return.

This picture is what's left of my sizzling Texas fajitas! I have been coming here with my wife since we were dating and now we've been married for 4 years. The food is always amazing! The service is amazing and the food has always come out very fast! This is my family's favorite restaurant and I would definitely recommend coming here. Best food in Sicklerville in my opinion.

There are a few things that make a Mexican restaurant go from good to great in my opinion: 1. A liquor license Aka margaritas and pina coladas 2. Tableside guac 3. Birria tacos 4. Churros/Flan/Tres leches cake Plaza Azteca has all of these and more. When my husband's favorite Mexican restaurant closed down about 4 years ago, he was searching for a suitable replacement. I used to abhor the place he loved, so when they closed I celebrated. They only ever had one of the four things I love about a great Mexican restaurant. Since then, Plaza Azteca has taken their place and I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review. We celebrated my husbands birthday ( his third celebration of the week) with his family on a Sunday evening. We arrived at 5 pm on a Sunday and were seated at a large table by the kitchen doors. We were a party of 9, so we didn't mind the location and honestly it wasn't an issue at all. We ordered drinks and table-side guac, naturally, plus the queso with the chorizo. The guac cart arrived super fast and the table ate it even faster. Make sure you have a few dollars to tip the guac maker. The queso arrived in a steaming skillet and almost seemed too thick to dip, but we made it happen. For our entrees, everyone at the table got something different. I did the birria tacos because they're my favorite. A few other items ordered were enchiladas, chimichangas, the pina loka, and the molcajete which is basically the same thing as the pina loka on a grander scale. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, but the best part was the birthday song. They actually bring out maracas and tambourines and various instruments to sing. The churro cup filled with ice cream was the perfect dessert to end the celebration.

Been here 4 or 5 times, food was great every time. It's just a little bit overpriced for what it is, but it's still so good.

I love trying new restaurants and have had this place on my radar for a while…read more We decided on a whim to try them on a Saturday night in the summer. We got right in with no wait. There was live music in the main dining room consisting of one singer singing Latin music. We were each given a tablet with the menu, which was pretty awesome. It took us a long time to decide what we wanted because we were enthralled by the extensive menu with all of the photos on the tablet. I decided to order a cocktail and my husband got the horchata while my mom got an unsweetened iced tea. They have a full bar with a ton of specialty drinks. My drink arrived with flower petals adorned to the side of the glass. We also received complimentary chips with salsa and salsa verde. As an appetizer we decided to do the taquitos. I love taquitos so I was excited, and the presentation was great. However when we bit into them we noticed they were just pieces of chicken breast rolled in tortillas and fried. No seasoning. No cheese, nothing mixed in. I was surprised. The taquitos I've had in the past are made with shredded chicken and potatoes with cheese. These were lacking flavor and dry. I wanted to love them so much but I just couldn't. For our entrees, I did the chimichanga mixto which was a chicken and beef chimichanga. They were on the smaller side but plenty for one person. The filling was mixed with salsa but again felt bland. They were serviced with a side of rice. My mom got the pina loka, which was grilled shrimp, chicken, and steak with onions and peppers inside a pineapple. Hers was very good. My husband got the La Jeño mix which had chicken shrimp and steak with cheese sauce, rice, and veggies. The flavor of his was pretty good as well. We skipped dessert, but the menu was extensive with all your Mexican favorites plus items like chicken parm. They also have a full breakfast menu. The music was very loud for the small dining area if you wanted to have a conversation, but the singer was doing his thing. We made sure to tip him on our way out. The servers checked on us frequently and service overall was good, I just wish the food wowed us more because I so wanted this to be our new fave.

The business is all hand painted with authentic Mexican murals and clean. We met the manager, Angel, who was very pleasant and tentative. Our portions were large and tasty. Being our first time, we wanted to try several things, so we ordered guacamole and chips, chicken tacos (3 per order), chorizo tacos (3 per), beef birria tacos (3 per), and a side of rice and beans. The tacos are HUGE! They all come on corn shells and are loaded with meat, with cilantro and onions. The beef was so tender and delicious. The chicken was equally tender and flavorful. The chorizo was very nice and mild - not too spicy. Everything was prepared fresh and served hot. Just delicious!!! The staff is super friendly and the place very clean and bright with about six tables. I'd highly recommend. We love this area for all the excellent Mexican restaurants and will definitely return here. So nice to find new places, especially when they're open Mondays where many others are not.

I ordered the Gorditas de chicharron and they were just ok. The chicharron was very dry. I also got a platter which was the bistec asado. This is usually my go to platter at any Mexican restaurant but this time I feel like I didn't make the right choice. The meat was dry and hard, the rice was pretty good and the beans were salty. The platter does come with handmade tortillas which were pretty good. The red salsa was also good but the green not so much it was pretty watery.

I really liked how well seasoned the rice was. The quesadilla was also perfect. Surprisingly, even the salad was good! We usually order salad just to have more veggies. Both enchilada entrees had chicken in them when they were supposed to be cheese only - so naturally we called to get a refund due to the fact that we drove 35min to the restaurant based on the recommendation. we get the food back home and my mother in law takes a bite and finds chicken. so my fiance checks hers - sure enough, chicken in that one. She has been vegetarian for almost 13 years now. We call them to try to get it sorted out and politely explain that we received food that we did not order and that we would like a refund for the two entrees that were wrong. The woman who answered the phone told us that they're happy to exchange the meals for the correct ones - and at this point we're disappointed enough to not want to drive back so we again ask for a refund. They tell us they're not sure they can do that so we ask for a manager - the manager proceeds to talk over us and raises his voice and tells us "bring the food back and we'll give you a new meal" and hangs up on us. We will absolutely never be ordering from or eating at this establishment ever again and I suggest if you're vegan or vegetarian - you don't either, because they don't give half a shit about you.

First off, this place has an insane menu. It's actually a little suspicious how large the menu is, only to get even crazier when you find out they have an ITALIAN side as well that does pizza, burgers and the like....curiouser and curiouser. Despite that, we decided to give them a go. I went with the chicken enchiladas, while the Misses got the chicken taco platter. I went with mole sauce for the enchiladas, and they were good. The rice and beans were fantastic, and the only thing that I didn't like about the enchiladas were the corn tortillas. (I know, I KNOW....."authentic." But I'm a gringo that prefers my flour tortillas!) The Misses was less enthusiastic about the tacos, because they were DRY. I believe you CAN add sour cream, etc for an additional charge, but just baseline, all you get is some hot sauce and some salsa verde, neither of which she wanted to put on her tacos. We wound up sprucing them up at home with shredded cheese and sour cream. The TASTE of the tacos was fine. We opted for take out. The building itself is a kaleidoscope of colors! Vibrant, bright reds and greens covering the entire outside and inside. Murals on the walls, the whole 9. But, that's the dining side. The pickup side is like a pizzeria vibe, with a few, not that clean, bench seating tables and a pickup counter. You can see straight into the kitchen, so at least they aren't hiding anything. We picked up and rolled out with zero fuss. Online order went through Slice, but El Gaujillo doesn't participate in Slice rewards so theres a knock right there. I would certainly come back. Like I said, the menu is expansive, and there are a few things I wanted to give a try to.
