Payed for our food, they did not even let us know, the food was ready to pick up, when we got the food, manager or some idiot pretending to be a manager ran out of the store saying we didn't pay, we went back in, showed him the receipt, and i pointed to him the waiter who rang us up and i yelled across the room, he was the one who rang us up, and we waited till they got their shit together. I was very upset when I took my family here last night for graduation. First I was not mad about being sat at the kitchen door where all the severs and busters came in and out but the girl who makes the table side guacamole set up her station about 6 inches from our table. This is where she also took the left overs and scrapped them into a take home container. I had to ask her to move just so my son and I could get up to use the bathroom. The food was god awful. I never had a burrito so bad before it was pathetic, the tacos were falling apart to where you Could not pick them off. The bill was over 150 dollars for a horrible food. read more

We visited Plaza Azteca, despite the reviews. I usually try to give a place the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, the reviews are accurate. We ordered nachos supreme with chicken. The cheese tasted like American cheese and was not melted at all. The chicken had very little flavor. The enchiladas were just ok. The Baja fish tacos were over sauced, the slaw was simply shredded cabbage. The fish was beyond over cooked. Our server was nice and attentive, but didn't have a lot of knowledge. BUGS IN MY DRINK !!!!!! If I could rate this -5 starts I would . There was BUGS and spiders in my drink . My birria tacos had NO cheese. My hard taco was soggy and disgusting. Customer service was terrible the manager refused to speak to me when I told him there was a problem with my order and in my other taco I asked for no onions and they added onions. They did not give me a refund on my order. They offered a $20 credit on my $135 order. I do not live in this state so there's nothing I can do with a $20 credit when I am visiting. For me this is the typical run of the mill American-mexican style joint. Mexican leaning in name more so than food authenticity. You receive free chips and salsa while waiting. We ordered chicken enchiladas w. burrito with rice, fish tacos w. side of rice/beans and a grande vegetarian burrito. The portions were on point in comparison to some similar styles joints. However, the food was not worthy of writing our amigos from south of fraudulent borders about. Good thing for Yelp eh... The best part of this outing for us was the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. That sounds super cheap skate . But the salsa was fresh tasting and flavored nearly to perfection. My husband and I have been eyeing this place for a while, and decided to try it for dinner tonight. For starters, we ordered the cheese dip which was pretty good. We both enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. My husband thought the salsa tasted authentic compared to some other places. I enjoyed it as well. For dinner, he got the fried rice with chicken and shrimp. There was definitely a lot of meat on there. He thoroughly enjoyed it and would get it again. I got the chicken pastor quesadilla. It was generously filled with meat, so much that it took away from the typical experience of eating a quesadilla with your hands. I had to use a fork because it was so stuffed that you couldn't hold it without it getting messy. I thought the chicken was very salty, so I probably wouldn't order that again. My friend order a cheese quesadilla. That's all that came on her plate. She asked for a side of pico and a side of sour cream and was charged extra for both. Five bucks just for the pico. Anywhere else it automatically comes with the dish. I asked for a side of cheese for my fajitas. Out came a side of American Cheese. Extra charge. I sent it back because who puts American cheese on Mexican food! I've never heard of that. Floor was greasy/slippery. I had to hold on to other tables to walk to the bathroom. Ambience is not there. ​We were visiting our family who lives​ close by, we decided on Mexican food and suggested Plaza Azteca. It is located in the center of a large shopping complex and offered plenty of parking. It was a fairly quiet night and we were seated right away. We were seated in a smallish booth, which was a little small for four good size adults, knowing my brother in law was getting fajitas. The happily moved us to one of the larger booths across the back of the restaurant. We were in time for the Happy Hour​special​l so the house margaritas​ were good value and fairly strong. My husband ordered Burritos Fajitas ($12.50) with chicken. There were two fair sized rolls of chicken meat and onions topped with cheese sauce and sour cream. It was served with refried beans​ and rice. He said it was delicious, but I thought it looked more like an​ enchilada than a burrito or fajita. I had the Enchiladas​ De Mole Poblano ($13.50) there were three enchiladas filled with chicken​, they were a little on the dry side. The were topped with a deep rich mole that​ had a nice blend of flavors, there just wasn't​ enough of it to moisten the chicken. It may have sat under a heat lamp too long. Overall​ it was ok, service was efficient but not friendly or helpful, the food was just ok, and it wasn't any great value. read more

The atmosphere was beautiful inside and out. They have out door and bar seating, and booths. The food was excellent and speedy. They are pricy! They charged us five dollars for a very small condiment cup of pico de gallo. The bar area was extremely cold and smelled like old dirty rags and possible sour throw up. Things started off on a positive note with one of the the largest margarita I have ever seen (you can basically order a supersize version) and bonus for inexpensive house/Texas margaritas. However things went downhill from there. Guacamole is made tableside which seemed promising but we had to ask for salt and lime to doctor it up ourselves since it was so flavorless. The main meal was extremely disappointing. Maybe I would have done better with tacos etc but I ordered a pork platter that sounded great on the menu but turned out to be the driest, least flavorful pork I have ever had at a restaurant. I literally didn't eat pork after this for at least a month because it lingered with me in such a negative way. Server didn't comment on the fact that I barely touched my meal. This chain Mexican spot is a solid choice for family dining, most adventurous eaters might prefer to look elsewhere though. The chain was started by 2 Mexican natives in 1994, and has spread throughout the east coast with over 30 locations now. It is definitely better than other similar corporate Mex places. A groupon brought us here, and for an easy and economical family meal we were pleased. We liked the large space that had a more open feel than many south of the border shops that we find ourselves in. A sign at the entrance advertised some drink specials, when I saw $2 for a 16oz Dos Equis, I knew that would be what I was drinking. The menu was fairly large with most of the usual suspects, but also some more Americanized plates. Even a good selection of kid's meals. We started with table made guac, you can tailor it to your own taste and the avocados were good and mostly ripe. But if you prefer it creamier as we do, you might want to specify from the start. The chips were not to my liking, definitely from a bag, I did like the salsa though. Both kids liked their choices, and we even had to order more beef tacos for the pickier of the two. Trish ordered seafood chimis, but unfried. She liked but I thought they had a fake seafood flavor. She didn't think she would order again. I had chicken chimis fried of course, and I was happy with the choice. The chicken was tender and nicely seasoned, tortillas nice and crispy, with just a little bit of cheese sauce. I added salsa and jalapeños to up the spice level. The sides of rice and beans were both pretty good too. We ended the meal with something the kids were not expecting, churros. 3 of us really liked them, warm and crispy with cinnamon sugar on the outside and caramel in the middle, plus a little container with even more to be drizzled on them at our will. Even without the groupon the prices seemed pretty fair. With it we felt like thieves. Service was friendly and quick throughout, but they appear to do quite a business on a Saturday night, so plan for that. Armed with another groupon and the kids, we would probably return. Next time Id ask for the lime on the side and for it to be mashed better. I like an occasional lump of yummy avocado but this was too much so. We all enjoyed our plentiful meals. I ate here Aug 2020 (during COVID-19). Outdoor dining was available on the patio under a tent. I went at 5pm on a Monday. There was no wait. I had a jumbo margarita and the Enchiladas El Jefe. I hate to post terrible experience but after the show we had the other night. We won't be back and we go here 3 times a month. Service sucks, the they charged me $3 for this little tiny cup of tomitillo sauce. My fiancée and I went here this evening for dinner and it's safe to say we will never go here again. Upon entering the restaurant it reeked of a dirty mop and looked filthy. The hostess was kind, we asked to be seated outside which we were. We didn't see our waitress for about 20 minutes at which time she came out with a bowl of tortillas and salsa (this was the best part of the meal). We then didn't see her for another 20 minutes and when she came out she finally asked if we would like drinks. We ordered our drinks, water, and meals at this time. Our drinks were finally brought out and they were awful. The margarita tasted like water and margarita mix, the lime in it was rock hard, clearly very old. My fiancée ordered Tito's and club and received some type of unknown vodka and water with nearly melted ice. Somebody else brought our food out and the fiesta salad was a tiny taco bowl with brown-mushy lettuce, chicken, and an immense amount of dressing. Absolutely disgusting . The burrito deluxe was covered in old Lettuce, the meat tasted like dog food, and the rice tasted like it was stale (if that's even possible). We sat there and didn't see our waitress in the next 25 minutes. We asked another server walking by for a check and he said "ok". He never showed up with a check. We saw him again and he said he doesn't know who our waitress is so he can't get a check. My fiancée got up and went inside to find a manager at this point and the waitress finally returned and I asked for a check. My fiancée talked to the manager and they took the meals off (we didn't eat them anyway) and only charged us for drinks. This was one of the absolute worst dining experiences I've ever had and we will never return to this restaurant. Side note: they allow smoking next to the outdoor seating which is under a tent. If you're not a smoker, you don't want to dine in cigarette smoke. read more

we sat down and waiter was very mean and sassy. our queso was burnt, as well as our tacos we tried to tell our waiter and she was very mean and rude. We told her about all of our burnt food and she told us she wasn't going to take it off of our bill even though no one ate it or was going to eat it.
