Chicken fried rice-lacking cheese sauce
Caroline J.

Still a solid choice for good Mexican food in Williamsburg. Very generous portions with enough for multiple meals for my family at least. Last time tried the pineapple fajitas and they were delicious. Served in a pineapple and I got just chicken. I got the cheese sauce on the side and the rice was so light and fluffy! Service was quick and we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Lots of tables and booths, and pretty standard look inside.

Taco Salad

Really wasn't happy with the food. My taco salad was burnt tortilla with what tasted like hamburger helper and extra water on the bottom, with lettuce, sour cream, and a sprinkle of cheese on top. Only ate a few bites. My husband said his was fine, and my kid didn't like their burritos left half of it.

Beer and Margarita

Excellent Mexican / Tex-Mex option if you are hungry and in the Williamsburg area. I came here with family to celebrate a kid's birthday dinner. The place was relatively empty on a Saturday, but we came a couple of hours before closing and Williamsburg in general isn't that busy in the mall/restaurant area. This place was clean and the staff was quick. The food was delicious and we even got to see their robot deliver the food which was unexpected. I think it's only a matter of time when robots do everything in restaurants, but that is another topic. Overall, great drinks and great food. Highly recommended to visit if you like Mexican food.

Frozen House Marg

Plaza is regional chain Mexican restaurant. We go here for the margs, since the food is about the same with every other Mexican place. It's best to go during off hours as sometimes the service can be slow. Typically if you can beat the dinner rush your food will be a little fresher and hotter. We usually go between 5 & 5:30 pm. The appealing thing during busier times is a robot waiter that resembles a cat. This is great for kids to entertain them and definitely is a talking point for the remainder of the night. Overall it's exactly what you'd expect from a standard Mexican restaurant.

Chips with side of refried beans

Stopped in for some lunch early dinner before heading to our vacation village resort stay. Began with chips n salsa-yellow corn chips n salsa with large pieces of onion and cilantro. I ordered the taco salad-small hand size bowl with beans, chunks of tender chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. At first, didn't care for the liquid in bowl, mixture of beans and not drained chicken, but became delicious as I ate through it. My husband ordered empanadas 4 nice sized ones, 2 chicken n cheese and 2 ground beef n cheese. Tasty but too much for one person, took half home. Side of refried beans, good . $32.20 + $6.80 tip= 39.00 Decent meal for under $40. Our waiter was attentive and very polite. Robot brought out food and then the server handed it to us.

Seafood chimichangas

I was in town visiting my grandmother and we decided we were in need of some yummy Mexican food. So we got all dressed up (because why not?!) and went to Plaza Azteca. Everyone there was so very kind to her and gracious with the extra time she needed to get seated and figure out what she wanted to eat. I decided on the seafood chimichangas which were super filling and very very tasty. We'll definitely be back!

Candy shot $5 and Horchata $3.50

We came 20 minutes upon opening and the customer service left a lot to be desired. The bartender had a little attitude. My Afro Cuban husband came in speaking Spanish to them and the bartender refused to speak back in Spanish even though we heard her speaking Spanish to other workers. The front house guacamole was delicious and they make it in front of you. They had bartender drinks of the day. Green tea was delish but the candy shot was nasty. Horchata gave me life!!! Cuba libre was standard. I'm not sure if this is on my list of places to revisit.

Chips and Salsa

First off, the service was lacking. We had to ask for refills and the waiter was not very attentive during our dinner. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa had very good flavor. My wife got the carne asada tacos with rice and beans. I got the birria tacos with rice and beans. Her tacos were good. My tacos were extremely greasy. The flavor was ok, but the grease made it difficult to eat. The atmosphere was pretty consistent with most Mexican restaurants we've been to.

Queso fundido

The service was so so - no water brought to table. The quesadilla were soggy and the margaritas tasted like Orange. The queso fundido was greasy. Taco Bell is a better choice. I would not recommend this restaurant

The food wasn't bad just pretty commercialized or chain food like. But not bad at all and nice prices.

Love this place. The carnitas quesadilla is fantastic, the service is friendly enough, and everything was clean.

Great food. A bit pricey, but worth it off you are not on a budget. Fresh ingredients and friendly service.

You can grab a sandwich (lots of great options) and their house dressing alone is worth the stop. Seriously delicious. But the real fun is the cheese counter. You can build your own cheese board, browse all their incredible cheeses and charcuterie options, and then... here's the best part... Take everything downstairs to the cellar, order a glass (or bottle) of wine, and just enjoy. No rush. No fuss. Just good food, good wine, and a great atmosphere. It's one of those spots that feels like an experience, not just a meal. Fun, relaxed, and so, so yum. If you're in Colonial Williamsburg, don't skip this one. The lower level is the tasting room, and there's also outdoor seating available, although it can feel a bit tight. We didn't get a chance to try anything since it was close to closing time, but I can definitely see this place getting super busy on the weekends.

The prices aren't the cheapest but I feel like they have decent quality products. They carry "The Real Good" products which I like.
