Food was okay not the greatest Mexican food I had but good , I had the guac w the chips and I also ordered the shrimp fajita burrito , I wish I would have ordered the steak or chicken because the shrimp was slightly over cooked and a bit tough , my s/o had the carne asada which I tried a piece it was excellent juicy and flavorful over all the food was good but a bit overpriced for the quality , the staff was very friendly and attentive and it was a clean establishment

Located right outside of the Grand Canyon's South Rim on SR-64/US-180 near Wendy's with plenty of parking. Our hotel was just a short walk away, so this spot was super convenient for dinner. We opted for takeout since we had our dog (although they have outside seating). We ordered their 'Bonita Salad' with steak and a 'Chimichanga' with ground beef. The salad was tender, though slightly under-seasoned steak. The Chimichanga tasted great but it was packed on a large catering platter rather than a standard to-go container, which made the beans a bit messy by the time I got it back to the hotel. They also included a bag of chips and salsa with our takeout which was a nice and delicious surprise. Prices at checkout were higher than those listed on their online menu. The restaurant was clean and organized. Staff was helpful and service was on time. Overall, it was a solid experience here.

The good, Our Bartender, very attentive and made the best Margarita's, we also enjoyed the cool glassware they were served in. Go for the chips and salsa, the same great taste as the location on Carefree Highway in Phoenix The bad, I ordered the Mexican stirfry as I do in Phx location always excellent. At this location the veggies were dried out, very little chicken and the little bit of cheese was also dried out, I never return a meal but this time I did, got the Carnitas, it was just ok and extremely over salted My hubby ordered the Pollo Asada Burrito, the kicker there was more broccoli and green beans than chicken . Never heard of this. Extremely disappointing. Will stick to the Phoenix location that is excellent.

We had a solid dinner at Plaza Bonita recently. The food itself was really good--everything arrived at the table hot and fresh. One of the best parts was getting complimentary chips and salsa as soon as we were seated, which is always a great way to start the meal. However, the service was a bit of a mixed bag. I ordered a tall beer but was served a short one. I pointed it out to our server, who said she would bring the correct size right away, but it never happened. When the bill arrived, I mentioned it again, and she simply said they should have already swapped it for me. The beer was ICE cold though so that was a major plus. Despite the drink mix-up and the lack of follow-through on the order correction, it was still a good dinner overall because the food quality was so high

On a roadtrip through Arizona and sadly this was a standout for probably the worst meal we had. We ordered the guac which although tasted fine had a bunch of brown spots all over. So not sure if it was not made fresh or if the avocados used were already past their prime. We weren't that hungry so we all just ordered soups. Me and my friend both got the sopa de albondigas. Unfortunately my soup was cold when it came out. My friends was hot. I guess they forgot to microwave mine? After I said something they brought me a "new" one that was hot (again clearly has just been microwaved...) It just grossed me out when I started thinking about how long that soup had been sitting out at room temp for. I know there's a very very very limited amount of options to eat at in this area especially at night but have some pride in what you're serving. The servers were nice but based on the food I would never come back here and I would advise you don't waste your money here.

Stopped by Plaza Bonita and had a solid dining experience overall. Service was a standout: complimentary chips and salsa, food came out incredibly fast within 7 minutes, and our waitress was extremely attentive by checking in on us multiple times throughout the meal. I ordered the carne asada plate, and while the beef was a bit chewy and could've used more seasoning, the sides helped round out the dish nicely. The Spanish rice was flavorful, and the refried beans were topped off with cheese and salty enough to complement the plate. The plate also came with four corn tortillas, which were a great addition. The guacamole was fresh and chunky, just to my liking. Overall, quick service, extremely friendly staff, and solid dishes make this a place we can look forward to coming back to each time we're near the Grand Canyon.

We needed somewhere to stop and get dinner on our trip so stopped here. It was moderately busy. Food was just disappointing. It lacked flavor and quality.

Plaza Bonita is a great place to stop by if you're craving Mexican food near the Grand Canyon. Everything we ordered was delicious and our server was friendly! If you're staying at the Red Feather Lodge, you get a 10% discount which is nice. We ordered the taquitos and the combo #1. The taquitos were very tasty with a side of guacamole and cheese on top. I liked that they were not too soft or too crispy. They also had plenty of beef inside. For the combo #1, you are able to choose 2 items and I chose the chile relleno and chicken enchilada. I liked that I was able to customize my order by getting veggies instead of rice. The combo also came with refried beans. I was very impressed with the chile relleno! The chile was cooked well, had plenty of cheese, and a yummy sauce on top. The refried beans were another standout. They were not too salty and had a nice consistency. The drink I ordered was the Coco Luna and it was good but very strong. You get more of the tequila taste rather than coconut. I liked that they included little pieces of shredded coconut in the drink. I also liked that they bring you complimentary chips and salsa. Their service was excellent as our server checked in on us a few times and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant had a lot of seating areas inside. They have both tables and booths. However, the restaurant does look older and could use some upgrades. For example, to their carpet. This restaurant is right next to the Red Feather Lodge and there is plenty of parking in front. Overall, the food was yummy and it's a convenient place to eat near the Grand Canyon.

This place is great! Fast friendly service, good fresh food and a clean establishment, not much more you can ask for. I had the carne asada taco plate and everything was packed with flavor, ask for the spicy salsa, the flavor is really good and it's not too hot. Enjoy!

3.5 stars. Their main draw is their location right outside Grand Canyon. Ambiance is festive and colorful. The tables are a bit small for the large plates they provide, but that was just my observation. The place was pretty empty when we got there. We ordered the tacos al Pastor, pollo en mole, a house margarita and a lager. We got complimentary chips with two salsas (super spicy and normal) for the table. The food was decent, not outstanding but better than ok. The tacos were solid but the al pastor could do with more marination. The pollo en mole was good. I liked the tortillas and the mole wasn't too sweet (I don't like mole that is on the sweet side). The chicken was fine but I enjoyed the mole sauce more. The rice and refried beans were pretty average. The complimentary chips and salsa were also average. The salsas were not very spicy. The lager was fine but the margarita was disappointing because it was very flat. The menu is expensive for the quality of food, but I guess that is what you get for eating in a tourist town. This is a decent option if you are looking for food outside GC, but don't expect to be overwhelmed by the flavors.

What a great find. A Mexican restaurant w all sorts of classic breakfast choices. My best friend, Senor Wentzl, and I gave the hens a break today, and each had French toast w sausage links (the big ones, like Shaquille O'Neal's thumb). And potatoes. The FT was thick cut, with notes of vanilla and cinnamon, and dusted w powdered sugar. Really hit the spot. Coffee excellent, as well as service. 5 stars

Came here after we went to the Grand Canyon. Food was good here, we all left full. Waitress was attentive in refilling our drinks and chips. I got the carne asada and it was very delicious.

The place has lively and bright decor! The service was fast and friendly. The chips and salsa were great! The salsa was thick and had great flavor. My boyfriend ordered the chimichanga and said it was really good, however, it was on the smaller side. I ordered the chile Colorado which was good. The sauce to meat ratio was a little off, but the flavor was there.

The hostess recognized our celebration request and said she would tell the waiter but the waiter said and did nothing. So kind of lame there. It's 120 years old and that's probably the main reason to go. The food was just ok. We got their famous French onion soup which was good but probably not worth $12 if in town. We decided to Elk out and get our fill while in the area. The Elk Milanese was like a chicken fried elk steak and pretty good. The Elk Bolognese was just like spaghetti with ground beef. Also good after a long day. FYI - Elk is kinda like lean beef. They had a dedicated water and bread person which was nice. Waiter was super slow though. But also nice. Deserts are displayed as you walk in. They are Actual size too and small so not really shareable. When I said "this isn't the real size right" the hostess said of course it is. At $12 and up it's pricey so we passed. If you're staying at a property in the village bring a flashlight or phone light because it's dark. Blue line Shuttle bus runs until 9:30 pm. Parking is more available everywhere the later it gets in the day.

It was not my idea to come here my sweet niece was the one who wanted steak and well who am I to tell her no?! We walked into the steakhouse side only to stand there another couple walked in and we were all quickly ushered out by a host, to go sit in the bar area... the host then tried to seat the couple who came in after first which wouldn't have been a huge deal if I didn't have a kid who was starving. Thankfully the other party told him we had been waiting. We were sat at a high top in the bar, and waited.. the bar tender came around and let us know she'd be our waitress, the main waitress was very busy. There was also a man who worked there that kept walking by looking at us. Not sure if we weren't fancy enough or he thought we were going to eat and run or what.. to be fair we were in jeans and a sweatshirt and had just come from the canyon.. I will say the reason we stayed (besides being hungry) was our waitress. She made us feel welcome, and despite being busy checked in regularly. I asked about the filet she said it was truly really good... and my niece got the steak tips. We both enjoyed the dinner... the filet was tender, cooked to a perfect medium... could have used a little more seasoning but still good. The baked potatoes had everything to stuff it with on the side... and the asparagus was delicious and cooked perfectly. Do I think it was 56 good mehhhh but it was still tasty. I had to taste the steak bites and that was delicious too! Fries however were over cooked. And by adventurous, I mean I ordered something that is basically chili, cheese, onions, lettuce, and salsa sitting on what I can only describe as pizza dough. So imagine a taco. Now imagine a slice of pizza. Now combine them and remove most of the seasoning. That's the experience. It's actually an interesting concept. I'll give them that. Taco pizza energy.
