I visited this place late in the day on the way from the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff. I looked at it as another hole-in-the-wall place to grab some food. Boy was I wrong. We got a bunch of appetizers and sat in the bar. Service was outstanding and the food coming out of the kitchen was even better. The dish I would travel half way across the country for another is the carne asada fries. I wasn't expecting much but man was the flavor incredible. These led me to ignore the chicken and treat of the food and made me focus. I'd seriously travel 3000 miles for these things. Rough one for our family. Jesus (our server) was doing his best to keep up- but they were overwhelmed with customers and not enough servers, and something was wrong with their computer system. So it took eons to get our order to him, to get served, and to pay our bill. The food was not very good. Maybe overcooked due to the overwhelm? We walked into the restaurant and service was a little bit slow, probably my biggest complaint. But I had heard about the Navajo taco. Now this ain't your ordinary taco. The base is not a tortilla, but Indian fry bread. From there, it's topped with ground beef and beans, shredded, lettuce, chopped tomato, cheddar cheese, green chile, and a fried egg (since it was breakfast time). They also served it with some lame generic salsa, they brought me some pico de gallo instead, and it was a massive upgrade. The toppings were no problem for me to finish, but I could only eat half the fry bread though. It was just way too heavy from the oil. And I guess some people top it with honey and eat it, but come on, this thing still had some refried beans on it! Beans and honey, that does not sound like a winning combination to me. Tuesday, 4/12/2022 - Went to have dinner at Grand Canyon Restaurant and Lounge. When you walk in, there's a bar to the right and the restaurant is to the left. There is a hostess that seated us. Pros: 1) hostess was very nice. 2) we got seated right away. 3) table, chairs, plates, cups, utensils all clean. 4) our server was so nice and professional. She checked in on us several times. 5) water tasted good. No metal or funky taste. They provided plenty of slices of lemons for my water. 6) our foods tasted good. My little one loved her chicken strip from here and ate every morsel. 7) salmon dish was good. Burger nice and big. Fried chickens were good. Salad was just okay. Cons: 1) no cons Conclusion: Not too bad for an Inn restaurant. Staff was nice and professional. Foods good. Place clean. And we didn't go to bed hungry! read more

Thanks Yelp for the recommendation because there's not a lot around! Simple, clean, yet spacious place. It's also a hotel. There's a bar with games to play near the reception area. We got seated right away, the waitress was very nice, brought us our drinks. I ordered the chicken fried steak and he ordered the pork chop. We were so hungry, pics were not taken. Both meals were served with a baked potato, tasty vegetables, and a warm dinner roll. It was better than expected. Visited 2/19/2022 A small place in the sticks on the way in from Williams to the Grand Canyon. Nice dining room with lots of seating and a small bar. Staff was nice and smiled all the time. Sadly both of our breakfasts were not good. My lady ordered Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs. Eggs were good and cooked over easy as ordered. The gravy was ok and the steak was passable. We had the chicken fajitas, 12oz ribeye, kids spaghetti, and raspberry cheesecake. The chicken fajitas were very good, but the ribeye took the prize. Very friendly on phone and checkin. Kept pretty clean and rooms are your basic hotel rooms that are a little rustic with log bed frames. A little dated but ok for a night or two. About 30 mins just south from Grand Canyon National Park. And then about 50 mins to Flagstaff, AZ and about 45 mins to Williams, AZ. So right on the middle really of all the attractions. It sits at the junction of Hwy 64 and Hwy 180. There is a restaurant there but have not tried it. Raptor Ranch is across the street along with a small RV park and small restaurant which I haven't tried either. Also next to hotel is gas station and minimart. That's all that is right around it. There are small coffee makers and a tiny Frig in the rooms. The only thing is I don't like their bedspreads, as not very pretty and a little dated plus don't expect to watch much TV as there are only maybe 3 channels with not anything I wanted to really watch. But a decent place for a night or two. read more

He was working exceptionally hard as both the bartender and delivering people's food from the restaurant to the people sitting in the bar. He did it all with a big smile on his face. He really stood out to me. People often complain when something is wrong but rarely take the time to acknowledge people who work exceptionally hard. Valle is a small town just 20 minutes south of the Grand canyon's south rim entrance and this place is the only game/choice. Service is friendly but food is not worth noting. It was 97 degrees out and we wanted an air-conditioned place to eat and relax. They had a limited menu so I had their burger which was very dry. The saving grace was the ac and cold beer. read more

Ordered the 8 oz ribeye with bake potato and have to say it's one of the best steaks I've ever eaten in a restaurant. The potato was fresh and hot also. Very tasty meal. So I ordered the 3 piece chicken dinner. I will start with the food wasn't terrible. It came out quickly and was sufficiently hot. The chicken must have been a Pygmy chicken though. The drumstick was the size of a normal drum wing. The wing and flapper piece was smaller than that, and the piece I originally thought was a thigh turned out to be the breast. Best food and service combined we've had on our ten day trip! We chose to sit in the bar to watch NBA playoffs. The bartender was our server, and he was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I had the green salad with salmon on top. The salmon was delicious, and the salad was fresh with lots of veggies. One son had the burger, which he deemed the best burger of the trip and he's had about a half dozen. His fries were probably the only thing that weren't five stars. Yes, 4 stars! Now that I have your attention, let me qualify the score. Definitely was skittish about eating here because of the 3.1 score. Glad we stopped in. The waitress, Liz was super nice, very attentive, and just top notch all around. There were 4 people in our party; two of us had the Alpine Mushroom Burger, one had the chicken Alfredo and the other had the chicken parm. The burger came with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on the side, all were fresh, cold, and crisp. The burger came with Swiss cheese and grilled mushrooms on a brioche bun. I asked for a medium rare burger and got it! The bun was fresh and slightly toasted. The mushrooms and Swiss topped it off very nicely. The fries were the side and they were hot and crispy, possibly a coating to make them crispy, but great nonetheless. The chicken parm was great, nicely coated, not too much breading, marinara had a good tomato taste, and the mozzarella was melted perfectly. The chicken Alfredo was very good. The waiter with the glasses sucks. Period. The bus boy who is half his age (super young) tried to compensate for the lack of attentiveness and very rude behavior of the waiter. We waited 25 minutes before we finally got the waiter's attention by waving at him 3 times and asking the bus boy if we could place our order. It tasted like microwaveable, but watered down. The "baked potato" was just a potato and a side of butter... I asked for a medium WELL steak, but I got a pink, bloody, medium RARE piece of meat. Have to say, we were pleasantly surprised at how clean & welcoming the place was as we literally just pulled off the road looking for anything to eat. I had 2 eggs, over medium (cooked perfectly) toast & hashbrowns, son had pancakes, husband had the western omlete (just didn't have enough cheese in it). Hashbrowns & biscuits were standouts, very tasty! Our waiter, Omar Anthony (hope I spelled his name correctly) is an absolutely lovely young man.
