Had a hankering for Mexican food and although I had driven past this place many times, never stopped in. Boy am I SORRY!!! It is fantastico in every way! Had to start with a Margarita, of course, and it was fine. Could may have a touch more alcohol, but was very tasty. The chips and two salsas were yummy, but my main course was the Tijuana Combination - one beef burrito, one mole cheese enchilada and once spicy chicken tostada. I'm no expert on mole but this was maybe the best I've ever had! The burrito was delish but, OMG, the spicy chicken in the tostada was outstanding! I seldom finish my plate but did today! Very friendly service and new owner is a nice young man with plans to upgrade the building, but I hope they maintain the cozy ambience. We will be back - again, and again!! read more

The food was absolutely delicious, and a wide variety beyond the typical Mexican joint. Two salsa were provided with the chips- the green was tangy and delicious, the red was pretty good. The only downside was the very slow service, which I am sure can vary. I would absolutely go again. The steak in my taco was tender, not stringy. read more

Very nice atmosphere, great service by Lupita, excellent lunch specials, great daily specials when ordered with drinks. I had the lunch special of meat tacos with served with beans and rice. It was flavorful, fresh lettuce and tomatoes and topped off with a white cheese. The wife had the cheese enchilada combo with taco, enchilada and a tostadas! Also served with bean and rice. Corn chips were fresh warm and served with (3) different salsas. The coffee was hot and fresh. Place was spotless inside and tables and chairs were hand crafted at great expense. My daughter brought me to Plaza Garibaldi, and from the moment we walked in, it was giving rusty buck energy. No greeting, no smile -- just a "seat yourself." Okay... we're doing this DIY style, I guess. I asked for a glass of water, and I swear it tasted like it came straight from the men's bathroom mop bucket. That should've been my sign to run. Then came the enchiladas -- drenched in a mole sauce that tasted like bitter BBQ mixed with burnt chocolate. The aftertaste? So strong I might need a professional tooth cleaning to remove the memory. The steak tacos were mostly fat -- like chewing on a candle and praying for flavor. The waitress was cold and unfriendly, and the manager, a man with way too much attitude, came over to ask if I'd ever even tried mole before -- like I personally offended his abuela. Then he says the waitress should've given me a sample first. Sir... if your sauce needs a warning label, maybe rethink the recipe. By the time I hit the parking lot, my stomach started bubbling like a science project gone wrong. I'm praying this food doesn't give me the Tijuana Toilet Troubles, because right now, I'm wishing I had a bidet on standby. Started off with chips and salsa, one of the best salsa verdes I have ever had. The red salsa was okay for me. Hostess and server were super friendly, after the shift change the next one wasn't as kind but what can ya do. I got the Mexican taco dinner with 2 asada and 1 al pastor, again not my favorite al pastor but still very yummy. Both meets were tender. Would gladly come back again! Plaza Garibaldi has the most authentic Mexican food in the area. Their sauces are very tasty and unique. Portions are generous. The booths and tables are comfortable and decorated with the themes of Mexico. The service is excellent. Our waitress is usually Lupita. She is friendly and makes sure that our meals are exactly what we wanted and that our drinks are always refilled and that we have plenty of napkins. We have been coming here for years and now our adult children come here as well. read more

Heavenly sweetness, tiny dibs of ice, fabulously tangy rim. Love it! We tried this place out for lunch - my guest had a burrito and she said it was jammed with the meats. First time stopping at this authentic little Mexican restaurant. It's clean and we got greeted by a friendly professional gentleman who was eager and enthusiastic to wait on us. They have great specials that are $6.00 and the meals you can choose the protein. Examples are tongue, tripe, beef, chicken, pork and sausage. I got a California burrito that had beef, rice, black beans, chipotle and avocado. Really good beans and rice. Definitely will return and try more foods. read more

I just can't seem to get enough of Mexican food. I've came here a few times with some friends and the food and service have always been excellent. I love that you get three different choices of salsa to start! From mild, medium and hot. The spicer the better! The food tastes well seasoned and not super greasy with a decent portion amount. Top that off with a margarita and you've got a good night. Also I always ask for a "Taco and Tequila" shirt that the staff always wears but apparently I have to work there ha. Authentic Mexican, that can do substitutions with no problem. I cannot have tomatoes, so dishes that require tomatoes. They are happy to substitute with roasted tomatillo. I love this place! My job has had our work parties here the past two years. I love Mexican - so I cannot complain! Some employees swear by this place and say it is the best authentic Mexican in the area. I would say this place is at my top 3 for really good Mexican in the area. The décor is a bit dated and tired but does have vibrant colors. Some tables are a bit old and were wobbling. Our group is about 30+ people so it is a lot for any sit down place to handle. Location wise for a big group they place us along the bar area which holds everyone but it is a bit narrow and tight. They have two salsas and guacamole. One salsa appears to be mild and fresh and the other is a bit hotter. The guacamole is flavorful but it is a bet wet, meaning a lot of liquid rather than being a smooth consistency. I have gotten the quesadilla and shrimp tacos. Our work will only pay for a meal if it is under $10.00. I wanted shrimp tacos and so did my colleague - our waitress said she would tweak the meal so that the shrimp tacos would be included in that $10 and under price. On the menu they were $10.99, so I thought that was great that she did that. Shrimp tacos are corn tortilla and they give you three tacos plus rice and beans. My meal was very good and all tasted fresh. If you are really hungry then you could eat everything on the plate - the tacos are not terribly large. Order a beer and they place it in a ice cold mug - delicious! Service was a bit slow with refilling waters, chips, and salsas. I believe we had 2 or maybe 3 waitresses but a bus boy or table runner would have maybe helped with refilling waters and salsas with such a large group. Bathrooms are very small and outdated. One stall is so close to your legs that you cannot possibly sit on the toilet - yikes! read more

First time but my friend goes often had pitchers of margaritas to die for and I got the fajitas taco salad so filling and delicious even when heated up the next day. The salsa doesn't have any flavor and the waitresses could care less about serving you good food! They forgot to give me any of the side items like cheese, guacamole, sour cream, etc. the meat tasted funny and there was one piece that was raw. I was really grossed out and pitched it. I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile, especially hearing good reviews and seeing parking lot filled up. Finally went with high hopes and expectations and was disappointed unfortunately. Chips and salsa was excellent, definite best thing about my meal. Ordered a Mojito which was tasty but unfortunately had little to no alcohol in it. I should've guessed by the outer and inner signs that selling beer to the male bar flies is the focus. The fajitas came sizzling and smelling good. Unfortunately it wasn't seasoned well and really was just plain. The shrimp and chicken were cooked properly but the steak was not quality and was very tough. The Rice and beans were also bland. I went to Plaza Garibaldi (which sounds Italian rather than Mexican to me) on a Friday at 1:45pm. I was the only customer in the restaurant for a good part of my meal, although there was someone at the bar, and when I was nearly done, a man & his son came in. I almost didn't go in because there were no cars in the parking lot. But, since the reviews have been so good, I decided to try it. They have a large menu -- pretty much anything you'd want. They brought chips and the 3 salsas right after I sat down. My only complaint with that is that the chips weren't warm. I ordered the lunch combination special, which came with a beef soft taco (2 pieces of the tortilla, which i didn't quite understand), a chicken tostada (although I think they called it something else) and a cheese enchilada, along with rice, beans, tomato, lettuce and sour cream, as well as a lime. It was all quite tasty, and at $7.49, rather a bargain as well. I really should've taken some of it home, but it tasted so good that I ate it all! read more

In the mood for some Mexican cuisine, we tried Plaza Garibaldi for the first time recently, and were pleased with the result. Service was very attentive, despite the fact that - like so many restaurants these days - they were a bit short-staffed. The menu had a great many options, including one that for me elevates a Mexican restaurant above the rest: a dish with mole sauce. I had the chicken tamales, which were very tasty. I always appreciate it when a Mexican menu features tamales filled with something other than pork, and was glad to find this variety. The co-diner ordered a chicken enchilada with red mole. He appreciated the quality of the dish and accompaniments. He was a bit startled by the spiciness of the enchilada when he first tried it, but after adding some of the sour cream and salad that came with it, he found that these tempered the spiciness, and enjoyed the dish. Prices were quite reasonable, and the atmosphere lively. Although we did not order alcohol with our meal, we noted with approval that the next table over got Mexican beer - always a good addition to a Mexican menu. We would be more than willing to return to Plaza Garibaldi - a dining establishment that gave us above-average cuisine at a fair price. read more
