We came here for a family party. I literally have not been here in 8 or so years ... pleasant surprise same menu and same faces, from the bartender, host to the cooks. The menu was preset for the party and every bit delicious. Our waiters were on point and clearly working hard to make sure everyone was taken care of. Zero complaints on any food and my people are sticklers, they also accommodated the small children with a kids menu.

    I. Love. This. Place! (Let me explain the 4 vs 5 stars...) I haven't live on Long Island in over a decade, but I used to frequent this little magical Mexican paradise often when it was known as Meson Ole. My friend and I have ordered many pitchers of sangria in our times there; this time I opted for a glass (okay. Two glasses) and let me tell you, this has forever been my favorite sangria in over a decade of trying sangrias!! So, sangria is 5 stars for sure. The previously known "tortilla soup" now has a new menu name but is still the same soup, and is as delicious as I remember it being. The quesadilla, too, did not disappoint. But the soup and the sangria are hands down my favorite! The place itself is decorated cute, but ... but!... it does smell musty, like an old building, which I know that it is. But could use a little freshening up maybe? We also had a window seat and noticed quite a few dead flies on the window sil, and another 2 that were flying around as we were eating... so sadly, not the most appetizing environment to be eating in. Maybe hang a few fly traps somewhere? Regardless, this place holds a special place in my sangria-loving heart. I hope this place continues for a long time so maybe they'll see this review and use it their advantage on how to get 5 stars for my next visit. :)

Plaza margarita is one of those hidden gems in the heart of Long Island. You will not find a more accommodating, friendly, and warm staff, especially Nora. The food is made with love, especially the garlic soup. I don't care if it's 30° or 100°, I always have to get the garlic soup. if you're looking for an adult beverage, don't be shy to ask the bartender what the specials are... Especially the sangria. Yum.

I have been here before it turned into plaza, margarita, and always loved it. Didn't care for it when I visited after changed, but figured I'd give it another go passing through a few days ago/maybe a week. I feel like I'd really give it 3 1/2 stars. First off, the service was amazing, the woman at the bar was very friendly and helpful. The gentleman that was there was also very friendly and helpful. The drink, a margarita, was delicious. However, in my opinion, based on just this meal, it was average. Tasty, not bland, but now the best I've had.. I would give about 3 1/2 stars for the food. However, I only had one meal, so I really can't give you a full judgment on it. Didn't like the jelly-like salsa though, but that's my personal preference and I know some people like it. My biggest issue was the cleanliness of the pitchers I saw hanging, behind the bar was perfectly clean, so I'm not sure what happened with the pitchers that were hanging up. I took a photo so you could see what I saw. I would go back and try again, especially from the friendly service.

Good food! Great prices! Friendly attentive staff! Hidden secret! We were looking for a good mexican/spanish restaurant and this one was top notch! Nothing to complain about.

My wife and I used to be locals to this place when it was Meson Ole. We moved further west and Everytime we get a craving for restaurant style Mexican this is our go to joint. Highly recomend the nachos and the flautas as a starter. The nachos are each individually plated and you get 8 of them. We prefer to get with chicken and the flavors are amazing. Topped with cheese and SC it'll knock your socks off. Flautas are awesome (you get 4) also. For a main my wife's goes for the combo 1 (enchiladas suizas) which are chicken enchiladas with a creamy Verde sauce. I go for the enchiladas mole (a slightly spicy nutty sauce). Also come out perfectly cooked. The rice and beans are a great addition. If you want to splurge a small pitcher of Sangria for about 24 bucks yields about 6 glasses in total. The atmosphere is very warm and comforting. You feel like you are eating south of the border. Def worth giving it a try for an awesome "date night" or taking a family member out for a special event.

Arroz con pollo. It has sausage and green beans and peas.

If you want a simple and tasty Mexican meal, this is a nice place to go to. The service is always very sweet, attentive, and ready to help. With new regulations in place, we were able to look up the menu on our cell phones to limit contact. Tables were spaced adequately within the dining room. We love the simple combination meals, and almost always order the arroz con pollo. It is hard to mess up good food and great service and we will return soon!

Combo 4. Cold tamale, beef tostada. Cheese chimichanga, rice and refriedbeans.

There is lots of seating on the floor on cushions and mattresses, but there are also several chairs. When you enter you have to take your shoes off, which is not an issue, just wish they had a bench you could sit on to take off your shoes and put your shoes on afterwards, as that was difficult for me , as I didn't have slip ons. That's my only negative. Food was delicious . I tried a new beverage and the pistachio cake- both delish! It is located in a strip mall, so lots of parking. Prices reasonable

I went in expecting a five star experience. My friend and I had brunch here previously and it was…read morefantastic. So ... we were on the waiting list for Schnitzels at 5 pm on a Sunday. They don't take reservations. After about 10 minutes my friend and I plus 3 teens (my kids and a friend) were starving and Schnitzels was loud and crowded. We headed a few doors down to Sweet Mama's. Seated immediately. My friend and I shared the steak with penne dinner special and a Cobb salad with grilled chicken. My daughter ordered penne with butter off the kids menu. My son got a turkey burger and his friend got a grilled chicken sandwich on a hero instead of a wrap. Now the good -- portions were huge! My son could barely fit his burger in his mouth and it also had a half avocado on it. They didn't skimp. Steak with penne was delicious and so was the Cobb salad. We all shared off each other's plates because everything looked so amazing. Now the bad. My daughter's pasta was elbows, not penne as indicated on the menu. Not a catastrophe but she was looking forward to penne. Then - my son's friend put some ketchup on his plate for his fries. It was ,.. not red but brown. The bottle had an 8/25 expiration. We are in April 2026. We told the server and she said it's because it's the "simply ketchup" with no artificial dyes. She offered him ketchup packets "with fake dyes" but by that point he lost his appetite for fries. We grabbed ketchup from another table, same brand, Heinz Simply. You can see the difference in color. We showed the server and she acted annoyed. I told her we didn't want anyone getting sick on that ketchup and pointed out the expiration date. She rolled her eyes and said "oh I'll just throw it away." She kind of had an attitude and didn't even apologize. So that's why 4 stars. We'd go back but request not to have that server. The food is fantastic but watch your ketchup! If someone put it on a burger it would have been ruined.

Not terrible, but also not memorable…read more Sweet Mama's is a hybrid concept tucked away in the adorable Stony Brook Village. On one end, ice cream. In the middle, restaurant, and towards the back, a bar. Surprisingly at 11am, for a table of four, we waited about 10 mins for a table. We ordered a variety of things, from soup, to bennys and a mimosa flight. The mimosa flight was very cute but mine ended up tasting just like white wine. The real disappointment imo was the Belgian Waffle. Now I know, part of this is my fault, for expecting more than what the description laid out. But for $12 I got one crispy and tender waffle with powdered sugar and that was it. No side of fruit, no home fries, nothing. Everyone else enjoyed their food, which I was happy about! And service was wonderful. But for $12 for one waffle, this place may be a biiiiiiit overpriced for my liking.
