Sometimes you want to go where everyone knows your name, and they're always glad you came. I can't recommend this pharmacy and its staff enough. If there's anything lacking, it's the logistical trade off of being a smaller pharmacy and not being able to have everything in stock at all times. They were very friendly when I had to pick up prescriptions for my daughter. They also filled our order within a few hours of the doctor putting it in. At the time, we didn't have insurance and they don't accept GoodRx which is ok. But they were nice to call me and ask if I still wanted to film a prescription that would cost $300 by itself out of pocket. Plaza (Burt's) Pharmacy in Thousand Oaks is the absolute best! I previously used their sister pharmacy, Burt's in Westlake, but recently moved and needed a pharmacy closer to my new location. I was nervous to make the switch but Plaza Pharmacy made this transition so easy, and it has been so wonderful to be their patient & customer. Plaza Pharmacy is under the "Good Neighbor Pharmacies" group, and they truly offer the Good Neighbor Pharmacy experience. If you have had a less than ideal experience at larger retail chains like CVS, Walmart etc, I STRONGLY encourage you to give Plaza Pharmacy a shot and you will not be disappointed. They provide individualized service that is unique to your needs as a patient, and treat their customers with the utmost care and respect. They also offer a medication delivery service for a very reasonable cost, which is extremely helpful for those of us with certain limitations and also great for those of us who work from home. Anytime I have gone in person to Plaza Pharmacy, there is little to no wait, and you will be taken care of quickly and professionally. I have been a LOYAL customer of Plaza Pharmacy for the past four and one half years. At the beginning I had super great service. Over the past year I can no longer give more than the two star rating. The only reason that I did not give it a single (1) star is due to one employee by the name of John. If not for John I would have been gone more than a year ago. First I was rudely spoken down to by a most unpleasant pharmacist by the name of Naz. I did call the owner of Plaza Robbie Leark who did apologize and stated he would speak with her about the issues. I assume it went on deaf ears. Several months later I was in the store and Naz did not see me, however her comments about a client who was on hold, something to the effect "Oh that pain in the ass again" was heard by myself and another employee of the pharmacy. Then the real issue happened. My Cardiologist put me on a new medication. I as always check on the internet what my any new medication should or should not be taken together. In big bold print it states that these two medications should NOT be taken together without the consent of the physician writing the script. Instead of confirming with my Cardiologist when I asked the senior pharmacist Jackie about it, I was informed that some physicians do on occasion write both prescriptions. However the Doctor should be contacted. When I took the initiative to call my Cardiologist he gave me two pieces of advice...1. DO NOT MIX THE TWO MEDICATIONS, they can cause me to either stroke or a heart attack, 2. FIND A NEW PHARMACY! I spend approximately five thousand dollars out of pocket per annum, I would imagine that Plaza Pharmacy is making quite a bit in profits from me. I did attempt to call Mr. Leark, the pharmacy owner, however he has chosen to not return my calls for the past week. I do feel somewhat bad in that John is an incredible person that truly cares about his clients. Unfortunately my personal well being surpasses my respect for John. Please be cautious of what drugs you are dispensed, just because the pharmacist allows the drug to be filled, it does mean that you should just blindly take it. Truly a huge disappointment and an unsurmountable lack of trust for me to be comfortable using Plaza Pharmacy or any of the Burt's pharmacy chain. read more

Friendly, fast, & fabulous (above and beyond) service. The day after Thanksgiving, Jackie spent time on hold with my insurance company to get them to issue an emergency authorization on a medication I take everyday. My prior authorization expired and my doctor hasn't initiated the process on his end yet. Without knowing this information Jackie still took the time to call my insurance and was able to get an emergency authorization for coverage. I learned about this when I went to pick up my Rx and Jackie informed me. Thanks Jackie! $25 vs $400 is much appreciated and thank you for the extra time spent on this Rx! This is the BEST pharmacy in Ventura county. I have a RX that has been very difficult to get , and they always go above and beyond to help me. In a society quickly losing connection, Plaza Pharmacy is a little slice of community in a busy, anonymous world. Jacqui, John and Jason helped me through an unexpected medical crisis and found my prescriptions for less money by understanding the drug developer's incentive programs and seeking them out on my behalf. I consult with Jacqui for over the counter things when I need them (cold medicine, etc.) plus, the parking is a breeze and I don't have to deal with the energy suck of a huge CVS-type store. My wife and I were shopping for a new local pharmacy, it just so happens that the person that did the first to review was a friend of mine and I contacted him and asked him if he still feels the same about his review, he said absolutely yes. So I made it over for a few things, they were very courteous in person, another day phoned in for a question about a prescription my wife will be getting and he answered my questions and said they would be glad to help. My wife was hesitant about dropping off her prescription but they were so nice to her and communicated to her when they would be able to order it and call her when its ready she was sold on this place. A nurse at my doctor's office recommended I try a non-chain pharmacy after we were both complaining about how problematic dealing with CV* is. I tried this pharmacy and the difference is night and day. Everyone here is extremely nice and they make an effort to get to know you and go out of their way to help you. They also take calls and faxes from the doctor rather than losing 75% of them like the big box pharmacies habitually did. I wish you could give 10 stars. This is hands down the best pharmacy I've ever been to. Frustrated with the larger pharmacy's in the area my mom suggested I switch to Plaza which she had been using for years. I did and it was the best decision. The customer service here is incredible. They answer their phones, know people by name, and go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Being it was a smaller pharmacy I expected to pay more for such good service but I was wrong. My prescriptions were actually cheaper. If they don't have something in they order it for the very next day. They even deliver! I am so so grateful to have found such a wonderful pharmacy with amazing prices. They truly care about their customers which is so different from other places. They have super cute and unique gifts inside and they even gave away a free n95 mask and hand sanitizer.
