My displeasure with this location started recently when they implemented an AI phone system for the pharmacy. While the voice them use is pleasant and helpful, I quickly learned that the system can only handle one request at a time. Humans can manage multiple questions and just deal with them one by one. Using the AI phone system thus requires multiple calls, and it's difficult to get through to a real person. I found that I needed to leave a voicemail. Once I got a call back and once I didn't. 50% batting average? Good for baseball, not great for customer service efficiency. Today's frustration was when Dear Hubby picked up a prescription for me. I don't have the numbers in front of me to verify, but as I recall this particular Rx wasn't very expensive. Today it was over $60. What?! I looked it up on GoodRx and it's 3 times what it should be. What bothers me is that their records should show what we paid previously and they could offer to check with GoodRx for a better option. That would be good customer service, instead of good ol' corporate greed. This has me so irritated that I'm considering switching all of my pharmacy business to a different provider. We've been loyal customers for a decade and a half, but this may be the last straw. Especially now, we all need all the dollars we can get just to pay other bills, like filling the car with gas, and on and on. The combination of making it difficult to talk with a live person when one has questions / needs of the pharmacist, and the overcharging - that's not making me feel like a valued customer at all.

This one is near my work and I was grabbing food in the same plaza so I chose this one. I came in the early morning so I found parking easily here. When I walked inside, they were not busy at all and only had 1 person working the cashier. That same cashier works at the photo department so I had to get in the checkout line and then tell her I was there for a picture pick up. The process was simple but I can see how it can be slow if they had many customers waiting to check out.

Rite Aid Camarillo is located in the Camarillo Village Square shopping center on Los Posas Road next to Sprouts and Planet Fitness. They have been my pharmacy for over 20 years and they have been absolutely great for all my prescriptions. The pharmacists and associates have always been very friendly and helpful, particularly with explaining how to take new medications. And whenever there's a problem with a prescription it just takes minutes to get it resolved. And it's also my go-to place to get vaccinations. Unfortunately, the store part of Rite Aid is a very different story. While there been some improvements since they emerged from Chapter 11 in September 2024 they are still frequently out of stock of many items. Basically, unless I'm at a nearby store or at Rite Aid for another reason I don't shop there. However, if I do see something I want or need in stock I will buy it since their prices are normally pretty good. Finally, I have loved Thrifty ice cream since I was a little kid. I particularly love their Chocolate Malted Krunch ice cream. And while their ice cream is normally for takeout they do have two small tables if you want to eat it there. In sum, I highly recommend Rite Aid Camarillo for their pharmacy and ice cream but suggest to only shop there for other items if you're already there or nearby.

Unlike another pharmacy that I went to (don't remember the name now but it wasn't a chain). Allegedly, it's long lasting relief. That's what it says on the label. Nope. My eyes felt dry within minutes. I should have bought two bottles instead of one. Southern California is ridiculously dry, windy, and dusty. Even close to the ocean, SoCal is too dry. This is the wet winter season in Northern California, and it never gets so dry near the ocean in the summer in NorCal because of the thick cloud cover from the marine layer. Just not used to this level of dry.
