This place lives up to the hype - the corn tortillas are tasty and a bit fluffy, but structured enough to hold up to all the taco toppings and not fall apart. A lot of places double up on the tortillas for this reason, but no need here. We ordered the birria, carnitas, and cabeza tacos, chicken sopes, beans, rice, sweet plantains, sweet rice pudding and horchata. Standouts were the carnitas and cabeza for me - very delicious in their simplicity, the meat is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Birria was also very good but overhyped IMO (novelty factor). The chicken sopes were way bigger than expected, could easily be a meal on its own and the masa tart was pretty good. Our table liked the green sauce to add zip to the food. It was very sunny when we went, so it was blinding and hot to be sitting inside, hope they install a shade at some point. They seem to only serve in takeout containers, so eating at a table requires getting a bit creative for a "plate" etc. There's a small lot behind the building and street parking is pretty easy. Have had this place on my list to try and it is a must! SO delicious. I cannot wait to go again and try more! We got the carne asade and chicken taco especial, the hibiscus tea, and churros! The tacos were delish! I usually opt for flour tortillas, however they make their corn tortillas and they are the soft ones, so I wanted to try it as it comes - I was not disappointed! The tacos come in 4 to a meal, so we so split two and two. Naturally, I prefer steak but both the chicken and steak were phenomenal. Lots of flavor!! The taco especial, has onions and cilantro and a nice lime squeeze on the side that is a nice flavor burst and addition. If you want the lettuce, cheese, tomato, etc. then you want the americano version. The tacos come with two sauces, both of which were spicy but you can tell were made/fresh! But that hibiscus tea - wow!! So delish! It was sweet and flavorful and a sip of freshness!! The churros were also incredible. Not that I didn't think I'd like the dulce de leche filling but it was um-yes yum! The outside was nice and crispy obv coated in cinnamon and sugar and then the inside was soft and doughy but not raw dough, just perfection. The dipping sauce was excellent too - they could provide a little bit more of it but we made it work. Anyways, highly recommend. It's fresh and authentic- clearly homemade with good ingredients!! Let me first start off this review by telling you I RAN to this spot once I heard about it through my friend. And let me tell you, SO FIRE. Best birria tacos in Massachusetts!!! Considering they had a lot of orders on a Saturday night, they got our orders out pretty quickly. Coming here we didn't know that it was a takeout only restaurant and so we asked them if we could sit on their bench seating in the corner of the restaurant and they said we were welcome to eat there. In addition, it was my friend's birthday and halfway through the meal they gave us a complementary flan which was so sweet of them! As for the food itself, like WOW! I seriously cannot stop raving about this spot and have been thinking about it every day since I went. I tried both their birria tacos and the carnitas, al pastor, and lengua (beef tongue) tacos which were all overflowing with how much meat was inside. Never seen such big chunks of lengua at a restaurant! I just wish the tacos had a 2nd layer of tortilla so I could catch the overfilled meat in another tortilla shell! The birria tacos had a great cheese pull, and it also comes with consume (we ordered extra, in which it was only an additional $0.50 for 2 extra sauce containers worth of consume). Packed with so much flavor, the right amount of crunch, meat, and juice. The horchata was also great too! Great price at $3 for a small as shown in the photo, and it was a little sweet (but I have a sweet tooth so it was perfect) and just enough cinnamon. The staff were amazing, seniors get a 10% discount, 5% if you use cash but......this review is about the flavors. The Birria Tacos had a slow-cooked beef and umami flavor that tantalized my senses, especially mixed with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Dipping sauce completed the party in my mouth. Wow!! The birrillas tacos especiales are incredibly flavorful and delightful. The 4 tacos per order are stuffed with marinated steak, cheese, and some veggies. It was a delight, especially paired with the sauce for pouring over or dipping. The nachos are OMG big and yummy! It fills a mid size pizza box, and that is how it is served. The carnitas is generous and delicious. We got four meals out of one box. Seriously. The rice and beans were tasty, and were used for an order minimum as they do run specials on their website. They also offer a 5% cash discount. We got a free churro, and wow! That's what a churro is supposed to taste like. Definitely more flavor and better texture than the frozen or fast food style. This place has some of the best tacos I've had anywhere, and I grew up in Texas. It's very simple, they serve tacos in freshly made corn tortillas. They don't do anything else. And that's a good thing, because they nail the essentials. And they were able to hold the cilantro, which is always a plus in my book. The young woman that took my order was so nice. I had never been here before and had forgot to think about a beverage and then also decided on trying their Flan.
