A nice little motel, nothing fancy, but well equipped and with an office that is open late. I came here after not being able to get into my reserved room at the nearby Motor Lodge motel (read my review about that motel). The Sierra Inn is an old school U-shaped motel with parking in front of your room and all the basics inside (think, fridge, flat screen, A/C etc). It has a bit of a checkered past, but has been fully upgraded and the rooms no longer have shag carpeting (thank goodness). Let's take a minute to talk about air conditioning, on the day I arrived it was 110 degrees, regardless of being a dry heat, it was still very hot. The room had an under window unit that chugged along all night, pumping out cool air with minimal noise, a must-have in places like this. It's not the best motel in Prescott, but it was open when I needed it and the staff was very helpful. read more

$125. a night. My king bed doesn't have a true top mattress, it's a box spring. At the very least, put a thick mattress cover pad on it. It's extremely cheap to do this, this a hotel! My hips hurt from the springs, due to the springs being worn down. Buy new pillows, all four are old, flat, and mixed sizes. They don't have breakfast, it's a continental breakfast bar and fruit "to-go". Otherwise, it could have been a better rating and review. Cute, contemporary room, and they allow cats. The beds were like sleeping on springs, pillows were worn out and not even the slightest firm, door had scratch marks taking off the paint from the inside door, chairs were all worn out-fake leather, tub not supported on bottom-could fall thru, room not represented on website -don't look like any as seen, no loveseat in room, and breakfast is a take and go in a brown bag-not a hot breakfast-no juice-nothing. Floor lamp not plugged in and in corner was dust bunnies. And we had to tell the clerk all these items so we didn't get charged for these things. The TV remote would not turn down the volume. Front desk asked if we saw the 2nd remote-we said there was not a second one! Pool looked nice. read more

There was supposed to be a fridge in the room and there wasn't. When inspecting the bed for bugs, we found several hairs on the sheets of not one, but both beds as though they didn't change the sheets but just made up the bed. There was mold all around the bottom of the tile in the bathtub. This was more the type of thing I would expect from a $60. a night room. Very disappointing. read more

Staff was friendly as I checked in. As I went to my room I noticed that the front door had a deadbolt lock for which a key is not provided. I entered the room and immediately noticed the interior light switch did not function. I returned to consult with the staff. The attendant came and had to turn on the lights at the lamps themselves. The room had 2 small lamps that only dimly lit the room. I later noticed the bathroom has no bars to hang wet towels/washcloths. Upon entering the shower, I realized there was no place to set my soap, shampoo or washcloth as I bathed. I had to exit the shower stall to set them on something other than the floor. I later needed to charge my phone and noticed the electrical outlet was broken to the point that the outlet itself was pushing deep into the outlet box. We have stayed here at least once a year to visit Grandma in Prescott. Now that she has passed on and we won't be coming to Prescott for visits, it's time to leave the review. We are so thankful for the staff at Sierra Inn. We have never had an issue with our room, we find the beds comfortable and love that there's a coffee pot in the room. As a tall person, I frequently run into shower heads that are way too low. That's not a problem here! Our rooms have always been clean. The A/C can make the rooms an icebox (our preference) if you want them to and we've never had noise issues with our neighbors through the wall. I feel lucky that we found this place and were able to stay over the years! read more

We booked a weekend stay for the softball tournament in town. Got a room with a kitchenette (27). Upon entering the room was clean, smelled fine, and looked like the pictures. We unpacked and headed out to the ball fields for the day...came back around 10PM to ANTS. Ants everywhere. On our food, on the counter, in the sink, shower, nightstands, on the microwave...disgusting! No staff on that late so we Lysol sprayed and killed as many as we could. In the morning we asked for another ant trap (the ones already in the bathroom and kitchen should've been my first red flag) and never got one. Unbeknownst to my kid when she went to make breakfast that the toaster had something globbed in it so it caught on fire at 5AM... Checked out early with the promise of a call by the manager...which never happened. It gets worse- the ants had made their way into our luggage so imagine my surprise when unpacking that we brought some home back down to the valley! definitely won't be back. read more

Our room was not clean, the bathroom had dust all over the sink, toilets and floors. The shower has bugs stuck to the ceiling and the shower head would not stop dripping, the bathroom light would not turn off at all and the door to the bathroom would not open from the outside if you closed it all the way when we called the front desk they just said "we'll make a note of it" the people who work here are not friendly. read more

When we arrived, our bathroom towels were wet, as if they were either just used, or taken right out of the washer. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom either. The floors were dirty, as if someone had their dog in there an hour before we arrived and it wasn't cleaned. I waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes before an associate helped me get new towels. Wouldn't recommend unless you just need a bed with a roof over your head. Don't expect quality. read more

I was in Prescott for one night visiting family. As it turns out, the Bluegrass Festival and Rodeo were both going on, so hotel rates in the area were sky-high, and many hotels require a two-night stay, so we were limited. Sierra Inn was one of the more affordable choices with decent reviews. They did remodel and paint not long ago, so the decor is modern, but the place could use a deeper cleaning and some attention to detail. For example, we had an ironing board in our room but no iron. Looking out the window, there was a rollaway bed and some old furniture out back. I am hoping those items are destined for the trash and they're not actually storing rollaway beds for guests out in the open. TV was quite small but newer. AC unit was old but nice and chilly. Outlets in the lamps above the beds for charging your phone. The walls are thin here. We had a first-floor room and we could hear a lot of stomping from above. My parents were in an economy queen room and could hear the TV of the guest in the next room during the night. We could hear other guests firing up their loud side-by-sides late at night and early in the morning. Grab-and-go breakfast was a sack with some fruit and granola bars (more like a snack than breakfast), but it's nice that they give you something. Hotel is VERY dog-friendly. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay with a dog, this may be a good fit. For me, it was just an okay place to sleep for one night, but I would probably try for a nicer hotel next time. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT AND IF YOU DO BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS!!!! MY friends and I stayed here last year for the 24 hour race. We were only in town for a night so I grabbed a room here, mainly because they were all that was left, and it was reasonably priced. When we got to the hotel the check-in took awhile because the girl was new - totally understandable. We went to our room and right away had to have the staff come back because the tub was filled with water and both comforters on the beds had dog hair on them. The girl from the front came and fixed the bathroom, she even left the plunger in case it happen again. Then a guy, who was cleaning rooms while smoking,(we commented on this to each other) he is related to the owner, came with clean comforters, and took our comforters to the laundry that was right across from us. Mind you he is smikyall while doing this.In the end we still ended up taking the blanket off the beds and using only the comforters because of dog hair. We went on about or night, came back, hung out and went to bed. The next day we checked out and came back to the valley. Fast forward to now, I am looking through my credit cards and I see a charge for $175.00. So I call the hotel and the front desk girl informs me that I was charged a $25 pet deposit and $150 for smoking in the room....1 - are you serious?!?!? we had no pets, there is no way to hide that and they should know because we had them clean the room because of hair that was still in the room. 2 - NONE of us are smokers!!! We have no type of smoking or vaping stuff - SO HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!? I can only assume that this hotel is in the practice FRAUDULANT charges. There are cleaner, more comfortable hotels. Service wasn't bad, however the smile is from the silent laughter because they're ripping you off. read more

Sofa bed was very old, small, and dirty. When we pulled it out, crumbs were folded into it and we had to sweep it off before we could make the bed. There is no air flow in the bedroom area. The ac is located out in the living room area and it was hot and stuffy all night. Walking around on the floor made all of our feet black. The fridge was unplugged when we arrive causing the food we brought with us to spoil. They give you one key that is hard to turn at check in and 1 tight parking spot out front. At least it is reserved right in front of your room, but if someone parks crooked, it's very inconvenient. Drowned lizard in the small water feature in the common sitting area. Hot and cold water mislabeled in the shower. You can tell the staff tried and it was okay for 1 night but I wouldn't want to stay longer. read more

No way am I going to use the coffee pot--it hasn't been properly washed in a long time--brown scum on the lid. No trash can in the room. Sheets are scratchy. This place may not look like much from the outside, but the remodeled rooms are beautiful! The customer service is wonderful! You can tell that the owner takes a great deal of pride in his property! This is the second time we have stayed here (it was formerly the Budget Host Inn). I didn't realize until we arrived that this was the same place we stayed in a few years ago. Well I have to say that this was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much because it had 2.5 stars but I'm happy to say that the room is very nice. It's clean, nice bed (although a bit loud during certain activities), has a nice faux fireplace, nice tv, little kitchenette. On the downside, we stayed across the street from the main hotel in an upper room. The steps were a bit steep. Also we stayed 2 nights and had no room cleaning. We only had two washcloths, two hand towels and two bath towels and had to make those work between 2 people for 2 days. The other downside was the sound of little feet constantly running until all hours of the morning from another room...both nights. But again overall I'm still giving 4 stars mostly for the quality of the room. read more

2 star motel with 5 star service and accommodations! Started with booking the rooms. Needed 2 for the family and we needed to be downstairs due to some bad knees and hips. Not only were we graciously accommodated, but received two rooms side by side. Check in was quick and welcoming. The rooms are modem and the beds are very comfortable. Our rooms had refrigerators and microwaves. We couldn't believe how quiet it was! Slept great. Upon arriving we noticed we'd need an extra towel and one of the staff members was outside asked how we were doing. I asked for a couple extra towels and she brought me four "just in case." This is a cute Mom and Pop motel. The room was nicely remodeled and very clean (except under the beds). The rom had a little table and chairs, microwave and refrigerator. It needed a little TLC with the door locks, extension cords and needs a nice little bathroom window curtain. If those things were fixed I would give it a 5 star rating. I have never been at a motel that made me feel more at home. they're very clean very nice room with a staff that feels like absolute family highly recommend them to anybody looking to stay on a budget and stay in a great very safe hotel. I've been in the Prescott area for 35 years and I've never found a motel that was more personable or better priced. It's especially nice being in the hills with the trees and mountains but yet 3 minutes from downtown if you don't stay here you're missing out. read more

The Grab 'n Go breakfast snack bags were a nice touch. They consisted of granola bars, fruit gummy snacks, an apple, and a tangerine. The staff were very nice, especially Bradley P. The pictures looked real good on Hotels.com., so i didnt mind paying $110. for the night because it was AKER night in Prescott and a vey special time to be there. So we booked a night at the Budget Host Sierra Inn, 809 White Spar Rd, Prescott, AZ 86303. When we got there we were directed to the small hotel across the street from the hotel we saw on the pictures. Apparently, they do a "bait and switch" on people because the pictures show the Beautiful new hotel across the street. The you are directed to the dump across the street from the nice hotel and are told "everything is updated". The supposed "update" was done very poorly. They must have forgotten to update the front door, because it has a gap you could throw a cat thru. Not to mention, the temperature stayed either way too hot or way too cold because the very, very, very loud air conditioner, kept coming on and off all night so couldn't watch a movie and hear it and you can't sleep sound. The electric outlet was over used and a cable was hanging out in the closet, probably a fire hazard. The floor was filthy and our feet would stick to it so we couldn't walk bare footed. The bathroom had no comfort due to the fact that the air conditioner was in the bedroom and couldn't reach it. The bedding was very old to top it off. We wanted to complain but the office was closed very early and so we tried to put up but ended up leaving at 5 AM and of course the office was still closed. Warning ! Dont waste you money and ruin your vacation by staying here!!! I tried getting a refund and was told that because we didn't complain, they were not able to comply. The exterior of this hotel looks like a motor lodge well maintained and landscape kept up nicely. This is a budget friendly five star motel. Here's why. They have original keys for the rooms. Once you unlock your door it's a modern newly renovated room. 2 queen beds nice and firm, with plenty of pillows. The floors are dark wood fridge and microwave, and coffee maker. Bathroom also had a beautiful shower with updated tile just like you would see in a HGTV refurbished bathroom. Beautiful vanity and great lighting. They provided standard toiletries plush makeup remover wipes which I thought was a nice touch. We would definitely stay again. The owner was really nice he and checked on us before we left. He bought the hotel 13 months ago and he is in the process of updating all the rooms and have several of them completed. It was a wonderful location close to Whiskey Row. I did post a photo of a spot in the room that would be perfect for a full length mirror that was the only downside was no mirror but not a major issue at all. Cleanliness- yes! Updated rooms-yes. Customer service-yes! Everything in room functioned-yes! Parking free- yes! Location- great! Good pillows and bedding-yes! Price affordable-yes! read more

This cute Motel has NEW OWNERS....... YEA!!! I stayed for an evening, and it was the weekend of our "Whiskey Row Bike Race", so finding a hotel was harder that finding a barn to birth the Christ child in!! The rooms are BEAUTIFUL!~!~! Don't stay here unless you want to get a sarcastic uneducated staff to treat you like your NOT a customer. Also they have electrical problems that ARE a fire hazard. Unless that cords will dangle and spare from, including faulty breakers that provide partial power to rooms, they staff claims the problem is the power company which any Electrican can confirm if the power issue is from the power service then the issue would effect all circuits from the services not just select few. read more

In Room 37: Hair was on 5 of 6 pillows, as well as on sheets. Asked for new sheets to discover a yellow stain the size of a large zucchini on the new sheets. Pony tail holder on the floor. A clump of hair at least 8 inches in length was on the shower wall. The tub had a hole with a white piece of tape on it. There was a a pile of dust on the wooden part of the soiled chairs. The window next to the clothes hangers near the bathroom sink did not have a lock on it; thus someone could possibly be breaking in and utilizing the room; however Regional Manager Larita did not want to hear any of this. We were originally told by Employees Jessica and then Bradley that we would get a full refund but when we called back, Regional Manager Larita said she would give us 25% back. We waited two weeks to see the refund on our credit card, but when I called back and reminded Regional Manager Larita of the issue, she hung up the phone on me (and I was intentionally overly nice because there is as no reason to be ugly as I knew the next step was to provide this review). read more

First impression was good. I was greeted nicely at the front and checking was fairly fast. I was provided my key. Entering my room I found that I was upgraded to bigger room (which I didn't need as it was just me staying). The next day after I already left for the day, I get a call saying I needed to be moved to another room as they had another family booked in this room. I had no way back to my hotel as I didn't drive up in my own vehicle. They informed me they would try and figure it out. Later that evening I get back to the hotel and go to my room to find someone else had moved in! I immediately went to the front office to find out what happened to my belongings. I felt very violated that they had sent someone in my room and moved my stuff without permission. Not to mention handling my belongings with COVID-19. I'm a nurse and I can't prove that this was done with cleanliness. I'm appalled that this would even happen, especially during this time! I spoke with the owner who was very rude and unaccommodating. I stayed the second night in the new room and had noisy pipe issues through out the entire night. Needlessly to say I didn't have a great experience and I'm not sure if I would want to stay here again. read more

We began our stay by accidentally checking into the sister hotel "armadillo inn" 20 min down the road after discovering some... "roommates" we hadn't been aware of (bugs). The staff was quick to help in offering us a better room at this hotel. WE CHECKED IN AND THE BED WAS BROKEN. We did what anyone would do and we tried calling the front desk. after 5 tries, we went to the main lobby to find it empty with nothing but an "emergency ONLY" doorbell. I stood outside and rang the doorbell for 15 minutes before giving up and just fixing my damn bed myself. It gets 1 star because it wasn't a pigsty but they need some serious renovations before ANYONE can stay here again.... or a better doorbell. read more

Just stayed here 2 nights over the weekend in room 48. Room was large with King bed and electric fireplace and was clean. We stayed in the 2 story next to office check in and our room was on 2nd story tucked back in the corner with no front room window to look out. We were the end room and had a large side window that looked out on to a residential side street. My only issues and reason for 3 stars is #1 the side window had 2 curtain panels that no matter how hard you tried to adjust the curtains right or left they are not wide enough to cover the window. That becomes an issue when dressing or undressing when it's dark outside and you have a light on in room. #2 and the biggest reason for 3 stars is the 6 inch mattress on the bed. I had a horrible time falling asleep and staying asleep. You could feel the metal springs inside mattress. I didn't expect a luxury room for the price but would expect a better mattress and better fitting curtains for privacy. read more

It is unfortunate that I have to give this Inn such a bad rating. This is one of those older, quaint motels that can be quite charming. When you arrive, it is clear from the outside that the owners take pride in the property. However, they fall short once you take a closer look. The rooms appeared clean at first, but the carpet was old and stained. The blankets on the bed should have been retired long ago. The worst part of the stay was the shower. When I opened the shower curtain, the folds were full of mold. Not just a little mold, but a lot of mold! Then the water ran burning hot for a 30 seconds then cold for the next 30 seconds. It alternated between hot and cold for the entire duration of each shower we took. When we complained about the moldy shower curtian, the woman at the desk just said the maid must have forgotten to clean it .. no apologizes or anything. It's not like they forgot to clean it once .. that mold definitely didn't grow over night! I wouldn't recommend this hotel. If you have a problem, the staff is not very interested in fixing it. read more
