THEFT! He continued to tell me that under Arizona law, I could face up to 6 months in jail. WHO DOES THAT?! He also told me he is a trained lawyer....are you trying to intimidate me?? After speaking with United healthcare today, it looks like the contract between them and the Smile Institute ended back in December of 2023 and was just reinstated on July 1, 2024. Super suspicious. I am extremely picky when it comes to working with a dentist, because some of them are just not honest/ethical. Many of them have to meet a curtain "quota" in order to get paid extra, and this happens more often in a franchised dentistry. So, as you can see, you have to really question them when they suddenly discover new cavities. Granted, I understand not all of them are unethical, but when they have a direct incentive to do unnecessary work, then my teeth are at risk! You don't have to go through that BS at Oasis Dentistry. This is a 100% owner operated small business. There is only 1 dentist here as far as I know. She won't take the risk to ruin her reputation by throw you with unnecessary dental work. I used to question her a lot, probably drove her nuts at one point, but she has proven herself that she knowledgeable, skillful, professional and ethical. I understand many people are looking for "friendly" doctors out there... but almost every dentist I know are friendly, so don't let that skew your judgement. You need a dentist who won't screw you, period, and Dr. Huynh is the only one I trust in this area.

He chose not to call, prompting me to write this review. As part of my visit on 9/24, before the cleaning I specifically went there for, the dental assistant performed a gum charting exercise (if not familiar, it's an easy Google lookup to describe what the charting numbers mean). For each tooth, she read out to her assistant 4s and 5s. A 12 year old failing implant had a much higher reading I'm sure was accurate. Dr. Noll told me I need a deep-cleaning to the tune of approximately $600...I subsequently saw my periodontist a few days later to evaluate the old implant. He performed another charting that revealed 2s and 3s. I then asked if I'd benefit from a deep cleaning, and I guess because of professional courtesies between doctors, he reluctantly told me I won't benefit from the procedure. It was the difference between what I was told at this appointment and what my periodontist said that led me to move on.

I originally chose to go here by doing my due diligence and reading into the business and real life reviews, I really spent quite a bit of time vetting where I would go to change my smile permanently. This practice checked all of the boxes. They are very professional and kind. No pressure, no telling you that you need more than what you're asking for, they let you make your decisions and provide transparency with pricing. Dr. Achatz diagnosed the problem and referred me to an oral surgeon for an extraction and then he will handle the replacement. Nice thing was that the office staff identified an experienced oral surgeon who was nearby (in response to my concern that I did not want to be driving all over) AND confirmed with that office in advance that it DOES accept my particular dental insurance. Dr. gave me a variety of options for the restoration, with clear pricing info for each one--and he has a very nice manner. This is now my new dentist!
