    Cute place! Delicious bakery.

Love this place. It's quite a find in Traverse City. Located across the way from a historic building that used to be a humane mental health facility, it's located in now what is a cool little shopping center. We came to try the pizza but unfortunately it wasn't going to be ready for another 10 mins and we had to go to the airport. So no problem. There were plenty of delicious looking baked goods. We had the the ham and cheese croissant which was super good with the touch of honey mustard. Also the almond croissant and chocolate croissant was delicious and not too sweet. Just right. The bagel bite wasn't as good and would have been better warm. The lady at the cash register who I think is the owner was super nice and helpful. Come visit and support this small business!

Stopped in to try the pizza--super delicious. We had the Margarita: excellent crust, lots of cheese, great basil flavor, and the arugula added a lot! We enjoyed a very pleasant meal at the outdoor tables. I enjoyed it so much that we went back for a second meal, feasting on ham and cheese sandwich and almond croissant--yum!!!!

My husband and I honeymooned in Traverse City. We got multiple recommendations for this bakery, so we had to try it out. We got an almond croissant and a lavender shortbread cookie. The croissant was tasty, but not the best I've had by any means. It was the lavender shortbread cookie that won us over. It was lightly sweetened, just as shortbread should be, and had a decently strong lavender flavor-- absolutely delicious. We were in Traverse a year later for our first family vacation and had to stop in again for another lavender cookie.

The hubs and I stopped in here while at a nearby coffee shop and were presently met with all the good smells. We got the maple blueberry scone, granola bites, bagel bite, and a giant cinnamon roll. Everything was amazing - the scone wasn't overly sweet, the bagel bite had cream cheese and chive baked into the middle, the granola bites were dense and not overly sweet, and the cinnamon roll is delicious but so large that you should probably share it. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies but we loved it all!

A local brought me here. It is situated in a unique location. The surrounding buildings that are currently being rehabbed were once part of a mental institution. Breads are made with all organic ingredients in a brick oven. The Golden Wheat bread I bought was warm and delicious. And well worth $5.25. I also bought rhubarb muffins for breakfast. They were really moist, and not super sweet. I bought a shortbread square too. It was good, but not the crispiest texture that I have ever had. If you happen to be in this little pocket of the city, buy your baked good here as a change from Panera and the like.

The lemon lavender shortbread was great! Not too sweet and the lavender shown through.

This place is in such a cool area! It's a repurposed mental asylum with these huge, majestic buildings and a little stream running through the place. But the bakery itself is this cute little brick building with a wonderful sunny atmosphere. Not only do they serve an amazing selection of breads but they also have local honey and the best selection of unique baked items I have seen! My husband got a miso caramel croissant which he loved. I got a bagel bite with cream cheese that was great, and a beet and goat cheese and dill danish that was so interesting and good! I wish we could have tried everything! Plus, the staff was super helpful and explained what everything was to us.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! Wish there was one down by where I live :( We had the twisty sticks (not sure if that is the real name) and they were SO good!!! Also got a loaf of bread, yum!!! Bread is my weakness :) Friendly staff who make sure you know there their stuff. Easy location to get too BUT there is not a lot of parking close.

I'm so glad our "tour guide" for our 4th of July Traverse City weekend took us to Pleasanton Bakery! The folks at Pleasanton know how to whip up some AWESOME brick oven pizzas! Alas, for visitors, the pizzas are only available on Saturdays, from 12noon til 8pm (or until they run out, I suppose!). Lucky for us, we were there over a weekend, so we got to sample their pizzas! The gals at Pleasonton told us that they usually only have two types of pizza; when we ordered, they offered a third option! Of course, we had to try all three! We got: their "original" veggie, the BBQ sweet potato, and the fresh pesto (the 3rd option). All were delicious...I can't decide which one was my absolute fave! Our host also bought some bread to take home - the parmesan olive loaf, which they were also sampling that day at the bakery. Delish! I was bummed that we forgot to buy a loaf before we left! Good thing for me, I have another option - Pleasanton ships their bread! They only ship on Mondays, but you can get the info on their site (http://www.pleasantonbakery.com/). I am definitely a fan! Imma be back for sure, next time I'm up in Traverse City! 5 outstanding shakas!

What wonderful, friendly service! All their ingredients are fresh, they even grow blue corn. Fresh breads and cookies, olive oil. Yummy blueberry scones too. Stop reviewing and stuff your face!

Staff warned us about the kitchen being backed up because the recently opened rooftop was packed. (It looked like a frat house nightmare up there. We sat in the dining room with families and other mostly sober people.) We ordered the sweer chili cauliflower appetizer just to kill time and match with a beer, but it turned out to be awesome. And I am generally not a fan of cauliflower substitutions for proteins. The veggie pizza wasn't too long of a wait, and it was solid. Lots of artichokes and olives. We took half for leftovers and it worked well as a cold pizza breakfast. Based on reviews, I wasn't expecting much, but I think this place is underrated. We left feeling like we made a good choice.

Service was meh, but I was told all restaurants during the Cherry Festival would be super busy and would have slow service. I felt that two parties of 5 were seated and served before we got our food. Our party was 6 adults and 5 kids. Great location for going to the Cherry Festival carnival rides after eating.

When we ordered, the bartender didn't drink which made it hard to know what certain beers taste like, but honestly, no judgement because he did the right thing and offered tastes of beer which was awesome and helpful! So service wise I would say great! The beer tasted really good as well and was decently priced. They had a bourbon barrel stout which was pretty good and newly released. The biggest issue we had was with the food. I ordered the spam sandwich with chips and my wife ordered the chicken quesadilla. While the food was cheap, the quality of the food also seems that way too based off what we ordered. The spam sandwich was supposed to be teriyaki flavored, and didn't get any of that. There wasn't a lot of thousand island dressing on it too, which made the sandwich dry. The chips that were served were clearly out of a bag as they were cold, which made it seem like I could have just gotten a bag myself. I would have paid a few dollars extra to get something fresh like fries. While spam comes from a can and I know this, my wife's chicken quesadilla had chicken that was clearly from a can - it was sopping wet, and the meat was very chunky, and very salty. This made us worry the rest of the food may not be very fresh. While we did have that experience, I will say the pretzel bites were really good and did seem fresh, and they were sourdough! So that was nice. I think this place has very good beer, and a really cool bar setup with a nice stage, arcade machines, and much more. However, I wouldn't come back here for lunch. Instead, I would make food at home. I would highly recommend more fresher options, and I would pay a little more for better quality food.

Crust is fantastic...a little less "bread" than you're used to in a Detroit-style crust, really perfect in my opinion. This is a pizza with a generous amount of sauce, so know that going in, but the sauce is absolutely top shelf. It could stand by itself paired as a rich and flavorful pasta marinara. It propels their Detroit style pizza to such a high level that you'll now struggle to be satisfied with "chain" offerings. I would've preferred to eat in but was picking up for a party. Not a lot of tables, so get there early. It was crowded, welcoming, lively at 7 PM. Ordered a large Summit. I was promised 30 minutes, and I think actual wait time was 29. Right on the mark.
