Amazing food, this restaurant serves some of the best food in the area. We had some amazing seafood and an extremely creative starter with black pudding over some goat cheese. This restaurant is worth making a little detour when you are in the area. Can fully recommend it!

This is quite a nice restaurant, near the bridge to the Isle of Skye (but not on the island) in, as you might guess, the town of Plockton. It has a well deserved fine local reputation as a good seafood restaurant and I would certainly agree. It is a fairly small place and was crowded when we were there for dinner, so it is a good thing we had a reservation. We had an interesting assortment of seafood, all quite excellent. Squat lobsters, about the size of crayfish, served in a glass with just the tails, crab cakes, duck breast served on chanterelles, lemon sole (the whole fish) and langostines which are just like one of my favorite oxymorons "jumbo shrimp." It is well worth going a bit out of you way to dine here.

The price can't be beat either, given that it was all super fresh.

We've ordered the fried fish wrap, the seafood bowl and some fresh oysters. We actually wanted also some langoustines like last time. But since the menu is always a bit changing and depending on the catch, this time this option wasn't available. But there were some of them in the mixed seafood bowl. Also some herring, salmon, seafood dip and salad was in the delicous bowl. The fried fish wrap was excellent as well. Fresh cod, nicely fried. Crispy outside and nice, fresh and tender inside. Good stuff. And now for the highlight: The Oysters. We've had oysters in the Normandy (France), Spain, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Japan, Australia, the US and in many other places. In several spots in England and Scotland as well. And these here were so far the best we've ever had! Fresh flavours of the sea, nicely sized, very sweet, smooth and creamy. Excellent oysters - almost drove three hours back the next day just to get some more. -But an altogether six-hour drive was a bit too much in the end. Hopefully next time around the oysters will be as great as this time. This time the weather was pretty cold and it was a bit rainy at times. So it was easy to get a table - even got one under the tent. Last time it was warm and sunny, but hard to get a seat and there was a long line. This time it was all easy, an advantage of this kind of weather which we didn't mind at all. A really really great place to grab some fantastic seafood items. We definitely will be back.

They pull in fresh seafood constantly and you can tell. They have a set menu, as well as daily specials, but it truly doesn't matter what you order. We tried everyone's dish at our table and they were all 10 stars across the board. The cod with pesto was incredible. It melted in your mouth and even the pesto was clearly homemade. Stunning. The oysters were huge, the lobster was buttery, and the cod with seafood ravioli was incredible. The sauces, toppings and proteins were all cooked to perfection in addition to the quality of seafood being the best in the world. Each entree is about $20, which is more than worth it for the perfection of a meal you'll receive. Be sure to book your reservation weeks in advance -- it's known that this place rocks!
