Great food, everything was fresh with well balanced flavors per dish. Tom yum soup was delicious, hands down better than the other thai option in town. Service was good, friendly staff but not over bearing. The ambiance is clean and simple, well lit and quiet atmosphere. I was educated on how difficult it is too really run a high quality ethnic restaurant in a small town like this. Many challenges relating to staffing, and supply chain issues/ingredients etc., Anyway, I want to make the point that we are VERY lucky to have this family business trying to bring us good Thai food, here in Cle Elum. Please realize that, and be sure to come in and give this place your business! My first issue has nothing to do with the 2 star review, but it is a comment for the owner. I realize it's your business, your choice, but why do you have ODD hours? You are closed Saturday-Sunday-Monday. People look to go out on the weekend, but it's never open. Just wondering why that is. Came in for lunch today. The restaurant is pleasant, clean, air conditioned. The server asks me to take a seat. I ordered Pineapple fried rice 3 out of 4 heat stars. Chicken satay and water. The chicken satay was decent, but it did seem a bit undercooked. The peanut sauce was semi-solid, not the usual slightly runny. The Pineapple fried rice was fairly disappointing. The Pineapple was canned. There was virtually no heat, even at 3 stars. I asked the server for a red chilli sauce, etc. she brought me an empty one. The food was so/so, not really worth it, but edible, very little flavor. What bothered me the most is the young woman server must have no understanding of basic 'Service' Smile, greet the customer. After you have brought the food, then give it 2-3 min. And then Check k back in and ask how everything is. (Pretend that you care) Then Check back a few times for drink refills, etc. and if you really want... You can ask, "How was everything today?" You don't have to even care, but it makes the customer feel like you haven't just dropped off the food, and POOF, GONE! read more

THE BIG: A taste of Thailand in the middle of nowhere Washington. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with the festival fam as we stopped for gas and groceries before heading to the gorge. The decor inside is pretty nice with plenty of Buddha heads everywhere. We were seated immediately and service was super fast. I ordered the Pad See Lew and a split the beef tenderloin with a buddy. About 5 mins after ordering the waitress came over and said they ran out of fat noodles and offered to cook the Pad See Lew with Pad Thai noodles. I was starving and said that's fine. It turned out to be pretty good! The flavors were there, just the noodles are thinner. The beef tenderloin was a lil overcooked. It came with sticky rice and some ginger. I thought it was overpriced for what we got but whatevs. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done was $18, not including tip and tax for a Pad See Lew and splitting the beef tenderloin. read more

Ploy Thai Bistro is a great lunch stop in Cle Elum about and hour away from the Gorge. The restaurant was very clean and decorated with plant and Thai trinkets. My friends and I came around 3:00pm for lunch and there were only two other tables filled. We were served immediately with the sweetest waitress. She made sure all of our orders were in order and checked back when changes needed to be made. Service was also very quick! Side note: Cell service is slim in this restaurant and the areas around. Panang Curry with Chicken (spice level 3): I loved how this curry had mushrooms and lots of chicken. There was a great balance of veggies and meat. The curry broth was decent, but not the best I've had. If you enjoy a light spice in your meal, then 3 is the perfect level. The rice on the side was also cooked very well. I was pretty full after eating the entire meal. Overall, Ploy Thai Bistro is a great stop if your heading to the Gorge or want a comforting meal for only $11! My girlfriend and I stopped here on a small trip and we chose this place. AMAZING DECISION. The lobby was clean, had an amazing vibe, and despite being understaffed due to COVID they had amazing times on all of the dishes and everything was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience. We were really looking forward to enjoying a good meal after reading many positive reviews. We were seated at 6:15pm for just two of us. Two parties that arrived after us, received their meals well before us. It took over an hour for our food to arrive. The waitress was polite and apologized. I understand there can be a wait for small businesses, however, over an hour is unacceptable. We ordered the pad Thai and the ploy basil chicken. While the pad Thai tasted good, we were shocked at how small the portion was, meanwhile every table around us was given plates much larger for the same meal. Did they run out of food before closing?! I ordered with tofu as the protein and was given 4 small bites. We were charged full price for what seemed like half the portion. The resort was terrible for us and we had a bad experience our first night so we found Ploy Thai on my find me gluten free app and they did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. We took it to go and went back to suncadia to watch the outdoor movie. They were knowledgeable about allergies and friendly and helpful. The wait wasn't too long. My son and I went here for lunch. Easy parking, quick and easy seating inside. Good customer service. I don't drink pop/soda and usually don't drink tea so I almost always order water. The water tasted funny here. Not a chlorine taste like some places... but weird enough that I didn't drink much. I ordered the same/similar dish that I order from all the other numerous Thai food places I've visited. The dish was ok. The vegetables were fresh. However it lacked any real flavor. I was disappointed in the lack of flavor. It was also a small dish. Not much food given. I actually ordered 2 (TWO) extra side dishes of white rice so as to pad my meal. I am incredibly impressed with this place! First off, the Boat Noodle soup is probably the best soup I've ever had and I consider myself a soup connoisseur. It is reminiscent of a Vietnamese pho but with a ton of tang and flavor. We went with two stars for spice level in this and all the other dishes we ordered (pad thai, drunken noodlesDrunken NoodlesPineapple Fried Rice, pineapple fried rice) and were very happy. Pleasant spice level but could still taste our food, definitely could've tolerated spicier but happy with what we got. What a surprise to find exceptional Thai food in - of all places - Cle Elum, Washington. We visited on the way to the Gorge on a sunny Saturday afternoon. A small group of retirees were just finishing their lunch and a woman at the counter was gathering her to-go order. The restaurant was empty except for these folks. The nice lady behind the counter took our order and our food was ready to go in ten minutes. First: the sauces, the sauces, the sauces. I don't know what extra magic they work on their sauces but they seemed to be better than many past Thai restaurants we've visited. Try the mini spring rolls (so cute and poppable!) and the fried tofu. We also tried the pad thai. At a spice level of 1 it was just right for someone who wants a little kick. Every time I visit a new Thai restaurant I order the pad thai first. This one was above average, more savory than sweet, with a nice punch. Usually the fish sauce isn't as pronounced, but this one was more forward than others. If you like sweeter pad thai, maybe ask them to use less fish sauce. My husband really liked it the way it was. We asked the woman behind the counter how long the restaurant had been open. She said since July 2018. I hope they are here for many years to come. read more
