With the Pluckers Club membership, we wanted to take advantage of the free birthday meal. Sunday evening had a long wait time of 45-60 min, but thank goodness for the Waitlist function from the Yelp app, we checked-in from the house and arrived to physically wait only 5 min at the storefront. There was plexiglass separating all the booths and about every other table was in use, in addition to more plexiglass separating the front desk. True to their sports bar vibe, music and TV commentary was blaring from all directions, you basically have to shout to each other in your party and with the waitstaff. Normally, that's not a problem, but shouting during COVID is not favorable. As noted earlier, they spaced out parties to limit capacity, but somehow it still felt cramped; this experience may have been the most cramped and crowded I've felt going out since the pandemic started. Thankfully, the food and service remain unchanged by the pandemic: folks are very friendly and food comes out quick and tasty. read more

We have given this place 4 chances now. Each time we have had TERRIBLE service. The food is great, if they put your order in. The waiters we have had have all been completely incompetent. It shouldn't take 10 minutes to order drinks for 4 people - milk, sprite, Diet Coke and a dressed Corona draft. We were shocked when those came out correctly since we had to repeat that at least 3 times. Then food came, and my husband's food was nowhere to be seen. The waiter argued that that was all we had ordered. And then suggested it was a glitch in his device after we reminded him that my husband did in fact order food. Also, apparently the restaurant is out of knives, so it was very difficult to eat my tenders with just a fork. Requested a manager and he had to track down a knife for me so that I could eat my food. He did comp my husbands forgotten food after being reminded they he said he would. Just a terrible experience. Like I said we gave them 4 Chances, the others obviously weren't as bad - just having to remind waiters a LOT about requested things, not being able to find them after waiting for a while, etc. nothing as bad as forgetting an entire order of food. We will not be back. Be wary if you decide to go - bad service and no knives. read more

Great food and place!!! My wife and I came by for a lunch about 1:15 after this new location had been only open for a couple of weeks. (In Webster). We expected a horribly long wait given the number of cars in the lot and at peak time. Extremely pleasantly surprised at having only had to wait a couple of minutes! Also love the fact that you can track your wait time via the Yelp app is really nice for grumpy folks like me. What I really liked about the place was the focus on the chicken vs. just fried: The boneless wings are more like small fried chicken breasts, very moist and tender and full of flavor with a wide selection of sauces. Tots are also nice! Huge portions wrt the boneless wing plate, too. 3 pieces is plenty to feed you and I ended up bringing the third one home. They have a Pluckers Club you can sign up for also ($20) and we signed up for that, so I'm curious to see what that entails us to. My wife also really appreciated that they have a teacher's special on Friday nights (free appetizers). Our server (Mauricio) was also outstanding, polite, and went above and beyond. I went to Pluckers a lot when I lived in Austin. I'm happy to see they started opening them up in Houston. I love that they have a plethora of flavors, and they'll let you try any other them before you order. You'll be waiting a while if there's a big game on. But the plus side is there are TV's everywhere. So many in fact I'm surprised there aren't any in the bathrooms. The breading on the boneless wings (which are really just chicken tenders) are great. It has that chic-fil-a style coat. My favorite sauces are Hallelujah, lemon pepper, and ranch (for the dry). I'm not a particular fan of the cajun dry. It was too overpowering for my taste. sweet potato waffle fries were excellent. Aaaaand they have spicy sriracha ketchup. I'm not saying I thought about swiping one, but I'm not saying I didn't either. Sometimes the atmosphere can get a little loud to where you can't hear your party. But I mean, you're at a sports bar. That's to be expected. Sometimes I don't feel they add enough sauce, so I get them extra wet. If you really like spicy flavor I would get fire-in-the-hole as a side flavor so you can control the amount of spiceness in each bite. And for vegetarians, they have that impossible burger that's supposed to taste like 'meat.' I keep wanting to try that, but I always end up ordering wings. We came in early yesterday, never been much of a wing person so I wasn't excited to come. Everyone swears by it though. Loved the restaurant vibe, everyone was so nice. We had the BEST waitress ever, her name was Courtney, I explained my whole deal to her and she knew exactly what to put me on. I wanted wings that were sweet and spicy and NOT vinegary. She suggested the boneless wings with maple chipotle sauce and it was awesome! She even told me to pair it with a drink called the psychedelic frog. It was delicious and my favorite color! Place was packed and we were starving having just left a painting class so we just sat at the bar. Well here is where it all went downhill. I'm very disappointed in my last 4 visits here at pluckers since my last review. I'm not sure if there is a shortage of kitchen staff but the food and service is just not up to par. The food has been cold. These wings are "extra wet". The waitress came out with a side of sauce to try and accommodate. We were in on a recent Friday night about 11pm. We hadn't eaten and were wanting food and drinks. Not having many options for food at that hour with drinks, we chose to check out Pluckers. We'd been into an Austin location but it'd been a few years. Upon walking in we noticed that it was really brightly lit with sterile colored walls. Obvious sports decor and frames hang on the walls but look weird with the dull color. Multiple large TVs hang on every wall. It would be hard not to have a good view of at least one tv. Our bartender was polite but didn't give off a friendly/welcoming vibe. They seemed preoccupied by closing down the bar and doing cleaning procedures while we sat at the bar which we found to be kind of annoying and also contributed to the unwelcome feeling. We ordered a round of drinks and were handed menus. We ordered two appetizers- the fried pickle spears and mozzarella sticks. Both were tasty! I personally prefer fried pickle spears verses sliced pickles. My husband ordered the club sandwich and I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken was delicious but a tad on the spicy side. The bartender did ask me if I wanted "mild" sauce on the chicken to which I nodded yes. But I've gotta say if that's mild then the spicy would kill me!! I probably should've ordered it plain rather than any flavor at all. We ordered another round of drinks while we ate. Overall the experience wasn't terrible. However, I was not impressed with the level of service! The bartenders seemed more content on cleaning and closing than making money. I doubt we'll return. read more

Honestly besides the pluckers in Austin this is My first time at a pluckers in Houston and I just have to say this is the best pluckers that has the greatest customer service I have ever ever had in any restaurant. PLUCKERS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!! No matter how long we (my boyfriend and I) have to wait we will wait. Of course they're always busy but every server we've had has always served us with a smile on their face (well under their mask). The place was getting a little busy,we chose to dine outside and then it turned freezing cold. We weren't able to get a table inside until we had already finished our meal. I had the Waffle n Cheese fries as an appetizer. They were good but loaded with too much sour cream and barely any fries. The only reason I've returned to this location is because my friends wanted to try the wings- I've been to this location at least 5 times now and STILL disappointed. The wings are great, the spicy ranch fries are delicious as well, HOWEVER the slow service, rude staff, and incompetence just ruins it for me. On one occasion, some friends and I decided to sit at the bar, order some wings and have a couple of drinks... we ordered the "big" beer and the bartender told us that they had a wing special. "20 wings for $20" seemed kind of odd and when we asked if we could share wings, she told us we each had to order our own. This just didn't sound right... I called a manager over to ask about the special and he stated it was "$20 all you can eat wings," OK, that makes more sense. We ordered a few different flavors and the order was screwed up. Don't even count on getting a refill on your beer in a timely manner- you will be waiting forever AND THAT is sitting at the bar. I can't imagine what service would be like at a table. On another occasion, again, several friends and I sat at the bar, ordered the "big" beers and chatting and having a good time, ordered wings, ate and then ordered another round of beers. My friend decided to buy shots for the group but the female bartender told us that we COULD NOT have shots until we finished 3/4 of our beer- keep in mind, these are 34 oz. mugs. We weren't sure that we heard her right and repeated what she told us... she said, "I cannot have that much alcohol on the bar at one time and I can't serve y'all until your beer is more than half gone." Not just because of the food, but because of the excellent service my husband and I receive every single time we come here. This is still a pretty new restaurant, so I will give them benefit of doubt on a few detractors. I'll start with the most important thing, the food! We got an order of the boneless "wings" (chicken strips in disguise. Yes, I said chicken STRIPS! They're huge!) and an order of the naked boneless wings with waffle fries for both. The portions were over the top, and for two people one order would have been plenty! We got one of the traditional buffalo flavors they have and the Dr. Pepper flavor. I am glad the Dr. Pepper flavor was ordered on the side because it was awful! Nothing but sugar it seemed. I told the server we did not care for it and asked for another and he brought it out (while charging us, in most cases I would have expect the charge to be waived. But whatever....) 2 of our 3 sauces were great! The waffle fries were good but seemed to be missing a little something for me. That may have been my fault because you do have the option (for a small fee) to add any of their dry seasonings to about anything so that would definitely be an option. We also ordered the brownie a la mode because the server said it was to not be missed and we had a sweet tooth after our meal. I felt the brownie came out of a freezer and the ice cream was not a high quality ice cream, we were actually disappointed with the dessert and when does that ever happen? Now for the service... We visited during a busy time and had to wait for a table. Not a problem at all, but once we got seated our service was very slow. The server complained on two different occasions, which drives me bonkers. He had mentioned that had him assigned to too many tables and also complained about the kitchen having problems. Although I did not like his complaining, I will give them a pass on these two items because they're still new and I'm sure figuring some of their stuff out. Overall we were not very impressed and are not dying to return. Honestly I would probably pick Buffalo Wild Wings before another trip to Pluckers. Beat place to get wings, hands down. There are many options for sauce and you can combine flavours (like hot lemon pepper). Dry rubs are also great, cajun and spicy ranch are my favourites. As for sides the best one is their house made chips. Tater tots are okay and their waffle fries are not good. Southwest Caesars are a salad option if you're looking for something else but it's not on the side menu. read more
