Cute little place with very nice natural lighting. I came here for lunch because I forgot to pack one for lunch and really really didn't want fast food. I got the caprice panini and a small mocha. The panini was a reasonable size for the price (just over $8) and the mocha was enjoyable tho I usually prefer my mochas a good bit sweeter. The windows are floor to ceiling around the whole front of the store with lace curtains over all of them which make for a very cozy environment and lots of natural light. A local, cozy coffee shop that feels like home. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. I got the snickerdoodle latte with whipped cream, and it was so good I had to slow myself down before I finished it in 3 minutes. I came on a quiet Friday afternoon to hang out with a friend, but there were a couple of people who swung in to get their coffee to go. Speaking of coffee to go, they also have a drive-through window for those who have places to be! And they have board games for those who are there for a good time and a long time. Great little gem to have a great cup of joe while relaxing in their comfy chairs. They have some games to play if you feel like socializing but it's also very quiet if you want to sit and peace. Stopped by Plum Coffee during my lunch break and I'm so glad I did! I can confirm there was coffee, but not too sure about the plums. I got a plain iced latte and it was yummy! They have a nice selection of pastries and breakfast items also. The most memorable part of my visit though was the service. All the baristas were friendly along with the owner/manager. There was plenty of good banter. The cafe has a very casual laid back vibe. It's decorated with antiques and different trinkets which makes the place inviting. This cute little coffee shop with a drive-through is located right off of Barker Cypress and it's definitely my go to when I'm in the mood to get a good vanilla chai latte. Is it bad for me to like a coffee shop this much? I've been here almost every weekend since I've discovered this place. This is the first coffee shop in Houston where the drink itself isn't just flavored water. I've only getting the dirty Chai latte so far but every time, the quality just keeps making me come back. It is so creamy and full of flavor. The shop itself is also a quaint little place that is perfect for getting work done. There's pretty much an outlet at every table. It's not crowded. Well..... I don't even want to get into the whole story because it was very unnerving that I honestly felt my business was not wanted. I will rate the coffee, sandwich, smoothie & service and move on. 1. MANGO SMOOTHIE - 5 STARS it literally pops with bursting super sweet mango flavor as if you picked it off of the ripest tree ever & ate it. Smooth, thick, delicious. Better than any other i've ever had, and i've had a lot because Mango is my favorite fruit literally. If you don't like SUPER sweet you won't like this one. I'm a sugar freak so it was awesome. 2. SNICKER DOODLE LATTE - 0 STARS After one sip, I just couldn't. It had a very bitter tasting coffee with sugar to add sweetness and then a lot of cinnamon dumped on top of that then stirred and poured over ice. Too much cinnamon dumped on top to give the snicker doodle flavor and not a good coffee flavor to start with. It went in the trash after 2 sips because I thought maybe something was wrong with me after the first sip. 3. TURKEY & CHEESE CROISSANT SANDWICH - 2 STARS The croissant was soft, buttery, etc. the egg appeared to be processed not a real egg that was just cracked, there was 1 thin slice of turkey meat folded in half and a slice of cheese barely melted. Jack in the box croissant sandwich get's a 3 if you want to compare the sandwich to something. 4. SERVICE - 0.5 STARS So I found this place on groupon, never been here b4. I present the groupon to "THE OWNER" as she made it clear she was the owner. She appeared very annoyed. She gave me the total after my groupon, I handed her a $20, she stated, I don't have change for that. Say what? It's 9:30am, how do you OPEN your business in the morning without change for a $20?? I said ok, I have a card, she says ok. I take out my card, she says oh NO, I thought you said you have a $5, I'm not paying the credit card fee when I already have to give groupon a percentage of this sale. I was uphauled!!! I said to her, well I understand, I've never been here b4 and groupon is a great way to promote your business. She says to me yeah well people keep buying it over and over again so their not really new customers like it's supposed to be for. As if she was IMPLYING that I was one of THOSE people. UNACCEPTABLE! Regardless of the way I truly LOVED the mango smoothie won't be back! NO WAY do you make a purchase SO difficult for a customer that is trying to patronize you and the marketing decision that YOU MADE! If you don't like groupon then get off of it. I've been here twice now and I enjoy this little kitschy coffee shop near my neighborhood. It is my go to Friday spot to grab some ice coffee and a croissant breakfast sandwich. It's super kitschy and reminds me of my parents home in the 80s. There are baked goods and Cake brand cakes and cake pops in the fridge. The WiFi is solid! I notice a lot of people do work, study or do business meetings here. Food price is normal for a coffee shop. Coffees range from $3.00 plus. Food is about $5 plus. My ice coffee and croissant egg and cheese come out to less than $10 total. Coffee is good and there is a drive thru! What more can you want. read more

Jerry and Sol were wonderful and welcoming. Sol, one of the baristas, was a light and lovely to talk to. I tried one of their speciality drinks with honey, cinnamon, espresso, and oat milk. It was smooth, delicious, and not overly sweet--an all-around well-balanced cup. Their nutty scone with chocolate chips and hazelnuts was a scrumptious treat and paired well with my coffee. Great experience! Although Liz wasn't here today, she is also a joy (and has great taste in music!) Jerry and Liz run this shop together, and they do an amazing job! They care about the quality of their drinks and the happiness of their customers. The coffee shop itself is very inviting. There are a good number of seats and tables, although still a quaint shop, and with all the windows, it's light and bright. There is wifi if you have work to do and board and card games if you'd rather play with loved ones and friends. One of their tables is a chess/checkerboard in itself. I keep telling myself to bring my pieces to play. I do not recall if they already have their own set, but there are so many fun options, it matters not. I love this coffee shop! read more

It's a really nice chill mid-century vibe kind of place with a relaxing music selection, something that is lost in the Starbucks big chain feel. They know how to make a doppio espresso macchiato as it should be unlike the previously mentioned empire, who spend most of their time making dessert drinks called macchiatos. You can get a scone or something similar for nibbling with your java beverage. If you've got more of a hunger, they have a limited menu selection of freshly made paninis and other quick bites. I am pleased that I finally tried Plum Coffee. Count me as a fan! Plum Coffee is pricier than the famous Starbucks, but I think it's worth the coffee you are drinking. For example, a small for one of their specialty drinks costs $4.50. They probably have about 15 different speciality drinks. I ordered the Coco Nut Mocha, which has chocolate, almond & coconut. The drink was blended perfectly, where you can taste one flavor and another without one over-powering. It was not too sweet as well! Starbucks is too sweet in my opinion. Aside from coffee, they offer teas, gelato, and bakery. They even sell some local items. They also sell scarves and Plum Coffee tees. Decor is random.. bits of everything. You do get a 1950's vibe though. Background music is a jazz mix. I'm pretty sure I heard Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer - Baby Its Cold Outside twice while studying. While they could use a few more outlets, the venue is set up for anything from a study session to a casual interview, or just a catchup between old friends. I was surprised and honestly embarrassed to realize I had not left Plum coffee a review yet. I have had nothing but consistent (this is rare) perfection since the first day I walked through their doors. This place is adorable. None of the furniture matches, and it all looks like it came from someone's nana's house. In the entire Cypress area, I dare you to find Baristas that texturize better. Foam is sort of my marker of a successful barista. Having been a manager of two coffee shops in my youth, I tend to be ridiculously hard to please in this category, but Plum has NEVER let me down. Not once. The London Fog Latte is a must try if you like lavender. Very few places do this and even less do it well. With the exception of one month a year, I eat purely plant based, so I usually order it with soy, but I've also had it with regular. Both are amazing. If they have any vittles in their case, try something made by the sister. She has a light hand with pastries and they are light and flaky and just perfect. O.K. on my second visit and was trying conduct a little business with my builder, but I guess we were interrupted by a music performance, I can't complaint too much, but I find it very annoying since we try to conduct some business but the music got even louder than we can speak.
