This a mom and pop shop. I came in today for the first time after living in the area for about 4 years. As I walked in I immediately felt like this could be a place I could frequent. With comfy couches, chairs and tables this would be a great location for group meet ups. The menu is your basic coffee offering with frappes and lattes. Been on the hunt for a great study spot in Cypress and I thought I found the perfect spot, however, Plum Coffee doesn't open late. :( I came here on a Saturday morning around 9am and interestingly enough, there was a family and a group of ladies already there having breakfast and chit chatting away. I wasn't really feeling coffee so I opted for the Hot Earl Grey tea with 3 teaspoons of honey. I ordered a medium cup and they usually put in 4 teaspoons. I was surprised at how cheap it was! My bill was $2.50! Service was fantastic as well. The guys there were very nice and accommodating. They even greeted me with a good morning. The tea smelled so good and tasted fantastic. I just wish that it was leaves and not a teabag. I stayed till around noon and to my surprise, I got so much work done! The ambiance is pretty solid. It's a 1950's theme with 50's music. I sat near the corner by the door to get some natural light and my morning was pretty much perfect. This is a pretty solid place to study and do work, however they don't open late. I can see myself coming here in the morning and getting some tea or even trying their coffee, but when it comes to studying at night, I just wish this would be my place. read more

What was once "The Daily Brew" is now Plum Coffee. Adorned with a retro feel and hip music, it's a nice place to stop before hopping onto that parking lot known as 290. Or hang out for a study session or break from the outside world. My favorite drink is their iced mocha. Very chocolaty and good. Their regular mochas are a little sweet for me, but a nice alternative to other coffee shops. Be sure to check out their snack counter. They carry mini cupcakes and other goodies. I recommend trying out their chocolate lava cookie. Truth be told, I could come here just for the cookie. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. If Plum Coffee were in Austin, it would be filled to the max and you would not be able to park in the lot. It has lots of great work tables, enough sockets to keep you charged, a nice room feel and good light. The crowd by Cy-Fair standards is cool. (No multiply pierced linguistics graduate students, but lots of nerdy types, international types, and alt-style young people) There is plenty of room to stretch out. The internet connection is excellent. The coffee? Not so great. Their angle is to do lots of flavored different mocha drinks figuring chocolate and sweet stuff sells. I will do just about anything for anything flavored chocolate orange - so of course I went for their chocolate orange mocha. It was cloying, and tasted of the fake orange of hard candy. But if you need to get work done and you want a cool place to do it that will not impede your productivity one bit, this is a fine choice. If I lived in Cy-Fair, I would be here a lot. read more

It was love at first sip! I asked for suggestions on what to get and was told to try the snickerdoodle frappe. I get it every time now and see no need to try anything else...you can't fix perfection, right? The employees are super nice and always remember what I get. This is a cute coffee shop that's a little out of the way in the suburbs that has pretty good coffee, especially if you like more flavorful type drinks. If you're a bit of coffee enthusiast I'm not sure if this will meet your standards... But if you're like me and just like frappes and the different flavors, this is definitely the place to go!! They have a great variety of different flavors, including things like smores, snicker doodle, mint mocha, and white chocolate. They do a great job of getting the flavor blends just right to where it's not overpowering one way or another. Service- the service is pretty quick and the employees are super nice. Maybe it was just a slow day, or maybe this is how they always roll, but they brought our drinks out to us rather than just calling out a number or calling out our order. Little things like that make a huge difference in customer satisfaction. Price- ok, this place is a bit pricey... I mean, $4.50 for a small? You haven't gotten the name yet to where you can charge so much, but for the taste I guess I can live with it. Also I fee like their small is bigger than Starbucks. Atmosphere- it's pretty hipster-ish. There are nice tables and chairs to sit and study at along with the mismatched couch that still works with the place. I like the fact that the walls are all glass so it's pretty open and there's plenty of sunlight. I really liked this place! It has plenty to offer, from pastries to drinks in numerous versions. The interior could use a bit more funk, it still does not feel like a cafe yet. I did not like the fact that they sell accessories for women like jewelry or stationery... It's a coffee shop, they should stick to that. When I came in, there was not that big of a pastry selection. Only four muffins out and some cookies. My friends and I all got different drinks, and I cannot remember the names of them each but they all had a very Christmas-y flavor to them! The next day I got a chai tea latte and (not being a tea person whatsoever) I drank all of it! I will definitely visit again to try different drinks! Family owned and operated, this is one of the only good things to come out of Cypress. The city is growing and starting to show a glimmer of hope for being livable, but before the boom in growth Plum Coffee was the only establishment holding it down. I get the Black & White Frap with an extra shot of espresso, and it's definitely one heck of a dessert. Plum Coffee is rarely busy; their baristas are uniquely competent and it is nowhere near as pretentious as its nearest competitor "down the road". Moreover, Plum's aura is conducive for hanging out, drinking coffee and just chilling. The food they offer isn't bad either and prices are reasonable. I like how they have a drive through so I really want to go back and order something more basic so I can really taste their coffee. This place is really good! We were in the area and looking for a coffee place that wasn't Starbucks and found this. I got the candybar and snickerdoodle in a frapp, and a jalapeño and cheese scone (apparently made in house) and let me just tell you.. It was all amazing. I wish I lived closer so I could stop by every single day. ALSO, the two boys working in there were very nice and extremely patient with us. Working from home all day, every day wears on you a bit. Lately I've been venturing out to coffee spots to not only get a good cup of joe but to get a change of scenery. For me, ambiance, customer service, WiFi, coffee/food, and space to work are most important to me. This place checked all those buckets but fell a little short in a couple. First, when I arrived I actually wanted something to eat and was pleased that they had food. I ordered the brown bag special, which includes a sandwich of choice, a drink, bag of chips and cake pop. I specifically ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich. Overall, the sandwich was a little dry and very spicy. I expected it to have a little kick but it was hard to enjoy because of the heat. I thought I could mask some if the heat with a little Mayo but unfortunately Plum doesn't offer condiments. Outside of that the staff was kind, the bathrooms clean, workspace sufficient and the coffee good. read more

The first time I went I did drive through and ordered a coffee and breakfast sandwich- the lady told me to park in the front and they would bring me out the sandwich which was totally fine! The guy came out a few moments later with mine and another lady's order that was next to me. Environment is nice, quiet, good for working. Staff is friendly and the baked goods were awesome (blueberry scone 10/10). Nitro cold brew coffee was strong, not a huge fan of the lavender flavor but that's hit or miss with me in general. Small shop but good location and lots of parking. My new favorite coffee place. Not only do they have Nitro on tap for cold brew (tastes fabulous), they have a FANTASTIC blueberry scone-if you like scones you have got to give it a try. I'm trying the Snicker doodle coffee on ice, and am pleasantly surprised that it isn't overpoweringly sweet. The delicious coffee definitely comes through. It has quite a bit of cinnamon, so maybe ask for less if you don't want it to taste strongly of cinnamon. The service was prompt, friendly, and my coffee and scone were brought out to me (where I was relaxing on a comfy couch). Another plus is that there are outlets available for charging your phone (primarily on the left side, where there are two cushy chairs, the couch, and smaller two seater tables. On the right-hand side there are larger tables, and one even has padded chairs around it. There is also a lot of light coming in from two walls entirely of windows, which makes it feel bright and open. I'm a big coffee shop guy, I have visited hundreds across the country in my travels and I've been a plum native for 5 years with the original owners. The family was friendly and knew had my drink made before I even walked in the door at times. They recently moved out of state and sold the business to a local cake shop, the have really spruced up the place and took a few suggestions to mind. They added blinds to the windows (a major major plus because that sun glare is blinding) and a reward program with a few new menu items while keeping all of the original drinks. Here are the problems that i'm having and has frankly turned me away, first is the barista staff, at least in the afternoon and evenings. I'm VERY disappointed with the attitudes of the baristas they currently have on staff. My first trip there with the new ownership there was a gentleman that barely acknowledged me. I gave it a chance and came back about a week later and he was there again talking on the phone to an employee or someone similar. I walked up and he just stared at me with wide yes and a "yes? what do you need" look. I gave me order and he charged me and walked off and made the drink and that was that. I didn't come back for a few more weeks because i was just disgusted by it. He doesn't seem to be there anymore after over hearing him going to college, but I had a similar situation with a quiet guy and another girl who was also quiet but nicer, it's still just a big "meh" attitude in general though. I don't expect or want to be patronized and faked to but general kindness and manners go a long way. I can go down the street to the other place and everyone knows me, even the ones who don't have a good attitude within the first two weeks of it opening, i can go to the shops in another state and still be treated with some politeness because that is just how these local coffee joins are. Hopefully this will improve over time and I can revise this review! Another downfall is the points system they have, it's frankly useless and they might as well not even have it. 8.00 Minimum to gain a point, everywhere i go its usually half that or points are based on the dollar amount. Nice effort though, i'll keep trying keeping an eye out. read more
