In my review I mostly want to concentrate on Manager Tyonni Nelson and Daisy Every concern, issue I've ever had was resolved in the professional manner. Not only are Tyonni & Daisy competent at their jobs, they bring a level of personal responsibility for my families living experience. I had a complaint from neighbors that my music was too loud. As soon after I played my music too loud ,I got a phone call with a very professional, but stern warning about "courtesy and compliance " The point is even though I was warned I never felt like someone was against me. I didn't detect anything negative vibes in Tyonni's warning and actually apologized a couple of months later Tyonni and Daisy both are very capable women and the organization that employs need to understand that you have 2 winners in your company! I would even go as far in saying that you may want to look at upgrading them both into higher management and I'm going to tell you why. I've been here 8 years and I didn't expect either of them to be in the same place after 3 years. (Don't get me wrong) It's none of my business but then again in my opinion you must take care of employees like this. I am a harsh critic, I am fearless and once I assess the issue there's no filter. I liked that there was a lot of trees which was surprising for the area it's in. Community seemed quite and clean. They have upgraded some apartments with modern stainless steel appliances but some have your standard white ones. They do offer an option to upgrade appliances for a fee. Unfortunately we did outgrow our unit so we recently had to move, but I'm lucky to have called this place home for 3.5 years. While most of what I have to say is positive, there are a couple of issues that I think are worth mentioning: -For a 1 br, there is little/limited in-unit storage space. The water heater and the washer/dryer (even though I loved having an in-unit washer/dryer) take up a lot of potential cabinet space. -Some neighbors are not very considerate when it comes to respecting reserved parking spaces, or picking up after their dogs. -We found a lot of spiders finding their way into our unit. At the end of the day, I'll definitely miss this place and will always consider The Pines as our first family home.

I'm having a hard time believing some of these reviews are real. I've never written a review like…read morethis but I've also never lived in an apartment with such a careless leasing manager. Since moving in about 6 months ago my experience has been a nightmare dealing with Rats and huge roaches (there's been other issues but these are the biggest problems). There are rats living within my walls. The scratching and thumping coming from the bedroom walls (upstairs) keeps us up some nights. My children and I are completely disgusted, and horrified to think one of these rats will make its way into the apartment. Ricky is fully aware of my situation as I am constantly keeping him up to date with emails including videos of the sounds from my walls and photos of roaches and rats, even though I don't get a response I am still sending him emails. Pest control came out twice but the problem still persists as their only solution was to place more traps and rat poison outside of my apartment, but that doesn't stop the rats from entering into my walls. There is no sense of urgency to find the entry points and close them. I've asked what the next step is to solve the problem, no response with a solution. I finally got a response from him a couple of weeks ago after I sent yet another email about the problems still persisting and explaining that I was ready to write an honest review due to the lack of solution, and his response was him defending himself stating he has sent pest control out and that there hasn't been any recent rat activity detected on their end, sounded like he was insinuating that I'm lying. Clearly there IS recent rat activity as I am still sending new photos and videos of the rats and roaches. Pest control has sprayed my apartment, but it's done nothing for the roaches. Waking up to huge roaches every morning has been depressing, my son recently saw one on his pillow so he slept on the couch because he was grossed out. Moving here was a complete waste of my time and money and I'm counting down the days to move out of here.

Javier is the maintenance staff I've interacted with and this guy is so cool. He's funny, kind, courteous and it's clear that he genuinely cares. He is always on top of things and I've never felt forgotten. I have never dealt with someone in maintenance who has been as good at their job as he has been. This guy really goes above and beyond and it does not go unnoticed. There's also Chris and he is quiet but sweet and equally helpful and considerate. He puts a smile on my face everytime I see him and he never fails to give a friendly wave whenever I see him. Fabian is the most recent maintenance staff I've seen and he's just as great as Chris and Javier. The guys are always helpful even going so far as to help me bring groceries in when they've seen me struggling to get up the stairs. The staff here really is top notch.

Cheated out of $2,000 on move-out. Ghosted…read more When I left the Kendry apartments in April, 2026, I had a verbal agreement with the office staff that because I'd paid rent for the month of April, the fact that I turned my keys in earlier in the month, would not penalize me. Wrong. I lost over $1,500 because they determined that I left early, and they list me as a "skip." When I called to ask about this, the Kendry office staff told me that I should have got it in writing. Get everything in writing, They also charged me, contrary to California law, for wear and tear on the apartment, and for cleaning, although I left it clean. Having an agreement in writing wouldn't have helped, though, because Graystar (the owners of Kendry) does not respond when contacted. When I tried to dispute the charges, based on CA law, they blocked my phone calls and sent them to a voice mail box that is not answered. When I called from a different number, they picked up right away. Finally, they gave me a Greystar email address. No one responds. I tried calling the billing company (Conservice) whose phone number on the move-out statement is also listed as a point of contact for disputes. That phone number is not in service and the website does not accept information through the comment form. Lastly, I called the email on the refund email (for only $47) that said to contact them about disputes and the person who answered the phone said that they had nothing to do with this. So, I lost $2,000 and have been ghosted. As a word of advice, the other reason not to move into Kendry is that the rent they quote you does not include all of the utilities they charge you for, even though they say that they take care of all utilities except for electricity and cable, Every month you receive a bill that includes fees for all of the other utilities, as well as for garbage -- and a fee for producing the monthly statement. I understand that Greystar recently lost a lawsuit about this practice in Arizona. The only plus side of living here was the maintenance team.

He had an appointment to view the apartments last Saturday (12/21/24) @ 10:00 AM. He drives all the way up to Upland and he calls Michelle who proceeds to tell him that she can't show the apartment because the maintenance is working on it. So that he could either go later that day or do for another day. No apologies or anything, I guess a confirmed appointment means nothing. When my dad contacted these apartments and spoke to her, he was very clear he was looking for a 2 bedroom, she told him they would have a 2 bed/1 ba with garage starting mid/late January, but in the meantime she could show a similar unit to get a feel for the layout. Hence the appointment on Saturday the 21st. Fast forward today, he has an appointment at 4:00 PM on Dec. 26/2024. He then proceeds to drive up to Upland AGAIN. Under the assumption the 2 bedroom/ 1 ba DOWSTAIRS unit was still going to be available in January like she knew he was looking for. She showed my dad the unit but not really she was just standing there not caring to show him around. He then asks about the downstairs apartment 2 bedroom they were in speaks of and she told him that it was already rented. Of course my dad was confused because per her words, it was supposedly not even available yet. She then is telling my dad that per him being self employed he would need to show bank statements with 30x the rent as the ending balance. Which that she never even mentioned beforehand. Be FFR, anyone with 30x the rent would not rent from these apartments that has barely to no parking and homeless people walking around. It's very clear she just did not want to rent to my dad or take him seriously for whatever her reasons were, but what angers me is wasting my dad's time!! Especially after Christmas to have to drive up to Upland in hopes of finding his new place. I have called and spoke to Michelle when I first inquired on behalf of my dad and she is quick to want to tour the apartments and get the ball rolling, but I guess only if she takes you seriously! Do better Michelle, you're not very good at your job.

The picturesque landscape, variety of amenities, and great Management team have made a great impression. In fact, our first introduction to the Management team here was meeting Jade, the Leasing Associate that guided our first tour of the property and she was excellent! She was knowledgeable about the available homes on the property, answered all questions we had about our lease, amenities, maintenance procedures, etc., and provided exemplary customer service as she led us through the process of signing our lease agreement. Since moving to the neighborhood and getting settled into our new home, my family and I have observed the Management Team going above and beyond to cultivate a thriving community amongst the tenants of the complex here, ensuring us that a positive living experience is their top priority. A prime example of their outstanding attention was our encounter while preparing for an event. Claudia, the Business Manager, accommodated our reservation of The Paseos Club House as the venue to celebrate our son's First Birthday. Her efficient communication, guidance throughout the process and enthusiastic dedication to our satisfaction, provided us much needed ease and relief. On the day of our celebration the Club House was in impeccable shape and ready for our preparations promptly at 9am. Emmanuel, the liaison leasing associate for the event, maintained a pleasant demeanor and reassured us that Management was here to provide support and meet our needs. Our little guy's First birthday bash was indeed a success, and all of our family members certainly had an enjoyable time. We were pleasantly surprised when the fun didn't stop there! My family and I attended the recent OktoberFest event hosted by Management where we had the opportunity to talk and get to know neighbors while enjoying good music, food, and games. We are very much looking forward to the upcoming Halloween Door Decorating Contest and cannot wait for the various events Management has in store for the coming year! Never expect to speak with the same person 2x. Make a complaint might as well pray that it gets fixed because chances are it won't. Also be prepared for constant "emergency water shut offs". In November alone I think our water got shut off 3-4x but you still pay full price for it. Also flooding when it rains. I have made multiple communications about the rain gutters having a hole and flooding to which they told me oh they are clogged. I spoke with Carolina, Kevin, Sabrina, and Monique and no resolution. That doesn't even make sense they need to fix the hole. The flooding broke my ring camera which I shouldn't be responsible to buy a new one for their negligence. Also my front door won't lock and must be literally kicked in to be opened. When I requested a new one they said no and we must wait until the water is dried up. Walls are so thin you can hear everything! This is just a little bit of what you can expect. Homeless people in the trash everyday. I've replaced 3 car tires this month because of nails all around the parking lot. Dog poop EVERYWHERE. Don't move here for real. But the staff is friendly so there's that.
