Been living here for 7 years now and I have to say Ricky is by far the best manager weve had. He's knowledgeable and willing to go out of the way when situations arise. Our air conditioner went out and he got a handle on it and had it fixed with 24 hours. We lived at The Artisan for 7 years in two different apartments. Our first apartment (2018-2023) was the second building in from Indian Hill and was not yet renovated, but great. We were very happy there. During one particularly rainy season the ceiling leaked over the stairs but the roof was quickly repaired and it never happened again. In May 2023 we moved to a larger 4 bedroom in the building just west of the pool. We regretted this move almost immediately. In the new apartment we experienced a roach infestation and rats in the walls. Rats could be seen running around the property during the day and at night. There were also rats eating the walls inside our garage. On top of this, giant horse flies were entering our home from the attic space through a light fixture. Water pooled inside our dryer when not in use because it shared a vent with another unit next to us. Nothing could be done to fix this. It took hours and a lot of electricity to dry a single load. We experienced two major floods in our kitchen from a burst pipe almost one year apart from each other. The first was over a holiday weekend and no one responded to our plumbing emergency for hours. The remodeled new cabinetry had to be cut out and replaced and holes cut out of the wall under the sink to access very old pipes. Cardboard was placed inside to block the hole until it was repaired, however at least one rat (that we saw) managed to get into our apartment during this timeframe. The AC didn't work at all upstairs during the summer and our kids were miserable. The last thing I will mention is that the water bill was astronomically high every month. It's my opinion that there must have been leaks all over the property that renters became responsible for since all property water usage was divided between residents. Parking was limited. Once we got home from work we stayed home for the evening otherwise we would usually lose our parking space. There's no overnight parking in the city of Claremont. The property itself was quiet and peaceful. Generally safe. It's a nice place to live if you have a dog. The landscaping was always attractive and pool well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood is nice to walk in. "Luxury Apartments" definitely didn't describe our experience the last two years of living there, especially for the steep price. read more

I'm having a hard time believing some of these reviews are real. I've never written a review like this but I've also never lived in an apartment with such a careless leasing manager. Since moving in about 6 months ago my experience has been a nightmare dealing with Rats and huge roaches (there's been other issues but these are the biggest problems). There are rats living within my walls. The scratching and thumping coming from the bedroom walls (upstairs) keeps us up some nights. My children and I are completely disgusted, and horrified to think one of these rats will make its way into the apartment. Ricky is fully aware of my situation as I am constantly keeping him up to date with emails including videos of the sounds from my walls and photos of roaches and rats, even though I don't get a response I am still sending him emails. Pest control came out twice but the problem still persists as their only solution was to place more traps and rat poison outside of my apartment, but that doesn't stop the rats from entering into my walls. There is no sense of urgency to find the entry points and close them. I've asked what the next step is to solve the problem, no response with a solution. I finally got a response from him a couple of weeks ago after I sent yet another email about the problems still persisting and explaining that I was ready to write an honest review due to the lack of solution, and his response was him defending himself stating he has sent pest control out and that there hasn't been any recent rat activity detected on their end, sounded like he was insinuating that I'm lying. Clearly there IS recent rat activity as I am still sending new photos and videos of the rats and roaches. Pest control has sprayed my apartment, but it's done nothing for the roaches. Waking up to huge roaches every morning has been depressing, my son recently saw one on his pillow so he slept on the couch because he was grossed out. Moving here was a complete waste of my time and money and I'm counting down the days to move out of here. read more

Called in to make an appointment to tour an apartment and the leasing office attendant said he was going out to lunch so 2:45 would be the earliest. We arrived at about 2:20, and waited outside for the attendant to come back. By 3:20 still no one was there. We left and called back about 10 mins later to see if we can catch them before we left the area. He said he was at a meeting, was not accommodating at all, poor attitude on the phone, and said he was with a customer and had to wait another 20 minutes if we wanted help. Really disappointed because we were highly interested in the complex and this situation just really turned us off. read more

While I can't comment on what it's like to live here, my experience with the Artisan has raised some red flags. A few weeks ago my spouse and I made an appointment for a tour. We were seriously considering moving here because of the location. Come the day of the tour, nobody is there and the leasing office door is locked. We called and no answer so after calling a few times we left a voicemail before leaving. I could have let the miscommunication slide but the concerning thing is that they never called back. It seems they aren't even interested in getting tenants in? Now, I just checked their recent reviews and the one about roaches and rats is extremely concerning. The lack of urgency and consideration for the pest issue coincides with their lack of communication with prospective residents. Red flags all around. It's a shame because the location is ideal but I feel like moving here could cause some major regret!! read more

Don't be fooled by the fake reviews below....Living here is a NIGHTMARE. Robin, the "manager", is always so rude to me. These are terribly "rebuilt" apartments. Deep issues with construction, leaks have happened in the ceiling and the floor in multiple areas, with maintenance unwilling to handle it appropriately. So many neighbors have been moving out every month, and for good reason. "Emergency" maintenance line is unresponsive. Maintenance doesn't believe you when you tell them something's wrong, then don't apologize when they find out you were right. Power outage was planned by electric company, and no communication from management about this, everyone's cars were stuck in their garages. Water was out too, and no communication from management. Literally ZERO communication about the power outage and the water outage from management. The pool area is dirty all the time, the community BBQ is grotesque. When they have landscape trim the grass every blue moon, they leave a huge mess with grass clippings everywhere that are never cleaned up. Our grout in the kitchen floor bubbles up seeps through the fake vinyl and causes a mess that's ongoing, and maintenance has refused to fix. We've had multiple leaks, multiple issues with the washing and drying machine, issues with our dishwasher, issues with garbage disposal. There hasn't been a moment of relaxation or comfort living here. There's no common courtesy or decency from Robin or anyone at this company. I would NEVER recommend this place to live to anyone. read more

Living here now and plan to stay for a while. I just want to say that the reviews below are fairly accurate. It is in a great location, and the grounds are quiet and lovely. It is inaccurate that Robin is rude, but you can tell she's a very busy person. Overall, my interactions with her have been good. Yes, there are construction issues in the home, and some very cut-rate rebuilding work creates more major problems that wouldn't be a problem if addressed properly before move-in. The maintenance is actually pretty cool, and they always get the job done well. The parking is usually pretty bad, and the garages are really tiny and hard to get into/out of. But, there is some storage space in them that really helps. The pool is usually very clean. Really, what can be said beside it being a rental complex? It is much like others I've lived in. Rent is high, but that's true just about everywhere in SoCal right now. Overall, my family is fairly happy here. read more

I lived in the artisan Claremont throughout 2020! I absolutely loved living here and would highly recommend it to anyone interested. The application process was very smooth and Robin was super helpful and responsive at all times. The neighborhood and location is amazing, especially if you have a dog it is a short walk to Claremont's dog park and you could easily walk or bike to the village. I only had 2 maintenance issues when I lived there, my AC did stop working in the summer when it was hot. However, the maintenance staff were extremely on it and gave me a temporary AC for upstairs that was a life saver. They were able to fix my AC quickly and took it very seriously! My only other issue was the ice machine not working but that was an easy fix for them as well. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Artisan, the management, and the maintenance! I am actually super interested in moving back and hope I can sometime this year! Thank you to all the staff who have made my experience so positive! read more

I have nothing but good things to say about The Artisan Claremont. I love the neighborhood. It is a quiet pretty neighborhood to live in. My neighbors were all very friendly and nice. The manager, Robin Allison, and Ronny our maintenance person, are the best!! I strongy recommend The Artisan Claremont Townhome Complex to anyone looking for a good place to move into. My family and I lived there for 5 years and if we had not bought a house 2 months ago, I would still be living there. Like I said the neighborhood is great, close to shops, The Village, the colleges, theaters, restaurants, the Metrolink etc. What else could you ask for?!! read more

I moved here over 18 months ago and absolutely love this complex. It is welcoming, friendly and the management Staff, Robin, Ysenia and Ronnie are fantastic. They are always very responsive to meet our needs, communicate important information regarding any changes that may affect us in a timely manner and make living here the very best possible experience. It is clean, quiet and the grounds are beautiful. I have met many of my neighbors who are all friendly and make this a good place to live. After living in my own home for many years it was surprising how easy it was to get comfortable and feel a part of this community. I highly recommend The Artisan Claremont for anyone looking for a place to live that will meet all their needs and feel safe and welcomed.
