I'm not going to lie: getting this system installed in a home we were living in at the time was not a pleasure and I won't ever go through it again. We had to get the duct work done which is a horrifying mess (there's no way around it) and to Calloway & Son's credit, they did suggest we go with a split system. Live and learn. We also thought we were getting a system with zones which didn't happen and it was never fully explained why, but in these old homes with impossibly high ceilings and two levels, your bills are going to be extremely high if you have one single unit. It is what it is. I certainly don't blame them for that! But on to the most important stuff: the system is pretty good. Again, old house, not the greatest insulation and taking all that into consideration we are comfortable 80% of the year. The other 20% of times are where things are a less than awesome: this year's blizzard and any extremely cold days mean for a very hot upstairs, requiring us to run the window AC unit. And on those blistering hot summer days, there's no way we're comfortable upstairs without the window unit. Again, my house... it's ancient. It wasn't made for these types of systems. Last summer, there was a day in August when the system stopped working on a Friday. I was more than a little disappointed when I was told they couldn't give us a service visit unit until Monday. If you live here, you know it is literally unbearable to not have AC on a summer day. Luckily the very kind lady on the phone worked with us and fit us in. I also now pay for insurance that ensures priority service. I was only able to afford to get the HVAC on the owner's side of my two family house done and that was about 25K. The financing was not great... if I hadn't paid it off ASAP, it would have been almost double that. So try to pay it all upfront if possible. At least the option is there if you need it.

These annual programs were never mentioned nor agreed to. Had this been my mother, or another less aware person they would have been locked into annual memberships with automatic renewals. Additionally, the fine print on the invoice says if you fail or late to pay the amount owed for the annual plans(such as credit card declined), you still owe them for any outstanding charges owed. Beware of companies like this.

I was able to get a plumber out the following day, and he quickly and professionally assessed the problem and wrote up a quote. Payment options were flexible too: you can pay upfront, or choose a zero-APR option if paid within 24 months. There are also lower monthly payment options, but those do come with interest. He explain everything that he was doing on detailed and the reason for each step. They did a super comprehensive check inside, outside and underneath the house trying to find a low flowing leak. He used visual inspection as well as a sound machine. Spend over 3 hours testing everything. While the price is high compared to a regular plumber. I fully trust their results and hope that our problem can be resolved on the spot. In addition we will get a written report that can be used to try to advocate the water company if necessary.
