I communicated with Plumb Genius on July 3rd regarding an invoice made in late June 2019. The overall invoice was $790.00. The total parts were under $100. $400 of Labor is understood but not $700. Discussions with other plumbing services have mentioned that the same level of work would cost much less than $790. The shower arm reset was just two clips to secure the showerhead. PPV320 the sheetrock was already cut there. There was no need for a charge. PPV320 Homeserve gain access to internal plumbing ( SHEETROCK ONLY ) for $45. On July 5th (2 days later) I received a reply "I have received your concern regarding invoice number *****. I see you are unhappy with the agreed-upon price to reset your shower arm. I can forward your concern to the business owner for his review of the charges. He will be out of town until Tuesday, July 9th. I will get back to you once he has reviewed everything. I received no response so I emailed again. On July 22, 2019, I responded again with "Hi, I would like to follow up on the review of invoice number 73889. Previously I mentioned that the overall invoice was $790.00. The total parts were under $100. $400 of Labor is understood but not $700. Also, I would like to add that I felt discriminated against when the technician (Jerred Tipton) that day asked for my driver's license number when I gave him a check for the day. I have a feeling that getting driver's license numbers when customers write checks is not the standard. Once again I didn't receive a response. I sent another email on September 16, 2019, with "Hi. I never got an explanation about the invoice. I'm still confused about the $45.00 home serve gain on the billing and other inquiries." Watch out for Jerred Tipton (Plumb Genius plumber in Edmond). He is a racist man. He used a slur when he came out for the estimate in early June 2019 and then a few weeks later in late June 2019 to try to get the task done. He also used the middle finger as he came through my door. Plus Traci H. and Sharon L. are not genuine reviews on here. Andrea K. sounds generic and not real too. Plumb Genius doesn't come on the same day. You always have to schedule an appointment for them to come out and assess it. There is a service fee of $60 (just to look over and make notes of the problem). Then the homeowner has to schedule another appointment to have them come out and fix it. I had been dealing with Plumb Genius since 2016 and this is how they did me. For me, on June 6, they assess it then on June 27 to do something about it. On June 6, Jerred Tipton (plumber for Plumb Genius) placed on the invoice that it would cost $2100.00 to repair, which does not include WSL to Meter. I had another plumber come by and he charged me $365 to fix the same problem. I contacted Plumb Genius (before June 27) not to send any plumbers over before the appointment on June 27 because the problem was already fixed. Jerred Tipton and other plumbers (for Plumb Genius) came by anyway. I was informed that they were supposed to call before they arrived but never got that call from any of them that day. I looked around the house for minimal issues with the bathroom, so they wouldn't come out for nothing because I felt sorry for them. So I asked to fix the shower knob in the guest bathroom and tighten up the shower head in the master bathroom (and that was it). They still overcharged it for $790.00. So that summer was too much overpricing and discrimination that I have other plumbers (that are not Plumb Genius) to come over from now on. The reason for the late input on Yelp is that their management ignored my contact attempts. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau years ago and they lied to protect themselves. Also whenever I hear that name (Plumb Genius), I just want to advise others to not go to them. They are horrible plumbers and will not follow up on the issue you report with their plumbers. After PLUMB GENIUS didn't show for our 10-2 appt, with no call or text, I asked my boyfriend to call to find out what was going on. (I was in an all day training and couldn't make the call Myself.) They apparently told him a tech didn't show up AND their Internet was down. Apparently they don't have a backup system to alert customers in these situations. Due to still needing the plumber, it was rescheduled for 1-5 today. We were able to get in touch with RotoRooter who actually answered their phones, and could come out the same day. So I called Plumb Genius SEVERAL times to cancel the work order. However, they didn't answer their phone, and their voicemail was full. I just got a text letting me know the plumber was on the way. Shoot! Totally forgot! So I called and said we'd had the appt for yesterday, but had to call Roto-Rooter, paying 3x our warranty fee, and to cancel the appointment. Holy cow! This woman flipped out! She said "if it was an emergency why didn't you let us come out on Tuesday?" Because we work. You know, to make money to pay the plumber. She said it must not have been an emergency at all. It wasn't an emergency on Tuesday, but had escalated to the point we couldn't shower or flush. To me, that's an emergency. That she doesn't understand that plumbing issues can go from merely annoying to emergency status is concerning. Perhaps she just started working there. THEN she called me back to swear at me! And point out that someone had rescheduled yesterday for today (yes bc we didn't know our options at the time and wanted an appointment on the books--not that appointments really seem to matter with Plumb genius. I told her since it was an emergency, we called RotoRooter, who answered their phones and were able to schedule the service. She continued to berate me and when I asked for her supervisor she claimed she wasn't there, that she would talk to me in the same manner, and refused to give me her supervisors name or number of course. Third apt 10/26 Called said the tech was ill so they didn't make ot. Fourth apt 10/27 same leak, same problem was quoted $1000 to fix leak and a seperate $700 to fix shut-off valve. We had some issues with our plumbing; the toilets weren't flushing properly and we had backup into the bathtub. We called our home warranty company and they assigned us to a company. This company never called us back! I called our home warranty company again and asked if they could reassign us to another company, which they did! Plumb Genius texted us and said they would be available between 2-6. Then they called and said it would be 2:00! We received another text saying they would arrive at 1:40! Sure enough, Josh arrived at exactly 1:40! Josh was able to clear the blockage in under an hour! He answered any questions we had. He did a great job! By the way, this happened on Super Bowl Sunday! Worst plumbing experience ever. This company lies and does not do what they say they will do. They are extremely dishonest been trying to get a simple water leak in our front bathroom fixed for 30 days. Have had three technicians to my house. Supposedly the first technician misdiagnosed the repair but I was told this after I had waited ten days for the parts he supposedly ordered to arrive. When they did not show up to repair it, I was told that the technician had quit and was not with them any longer. So they sent a second technician out who said the first guy misdiagnosed the problem. And that it didn't need parts ordered but that he didn't have the right tools to fix it. So after waiting another week. I call and I speak to the GM Tony . He tells me that he's sorry, that it should have been a simple 30 min repair and apologizes for the delay and runaround and promises to send Helios best technician Chris out to do the repair. He shows up 2 hours late on Thursday. Leaves the repair halfway finished and says he needs a different tool and that he will be back later Thursday. He no showed and by Friday afternoon at three o'clock I called Plumb genius again. I was told that Chris was out sick but that Tony would call me back. Never heard from Tony. So I called him this morning (Monday) was told he's not in the office but that they now needed to order the parts that the very first technician had said were needed for the repair. But amazingly they could not tell me when they were going to be out to do the repair. Because they did not have a time frame on the parts coming in. I have an older home and have had to use several different plumbing services and Plumb Genius is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. They scheduled a full day starting at 8am to replace my sewer line and showed up 2 hours late then rushed the job and destroyed my property with absolutely no regard. They split the concrete pad in my yard in half even though it was not in the way of the job and just gave me a simple "sorry". They are very vague on communicating pricing and just try to get you to swipe your credit card prior to the job then have zero regard for how they finish it. I have seen many messy sewer line repairs but the guys were in a hurry to go home after showing up 2 hours late so they didnt even refill the trench they dug, they just pushed all the dirt up next to it. Plumb Genius was sent to my house by American Home Shield.My garbage disposal quit working ,so they installed a new one.IT IS THE MOST INEFFECTIVE/CHEAP disposal they could have chosen.I found out how poorly it works the next day I used it. Next day,1st noticed water standing still in drain. Then each time I ran it,it took a continual turning it on & running water @ same time trying to get small soft food to go down the drain.I have to help it along by using a plastic large spoon to push debris down.I was told yrs ago to never put hard veggies(carrots,celery, etc) in disposal, so I never do that.Be aware! American Home Shield wouldn't back me up!Don't recommend them either.They go up in price every year.Wasn't told that info while being a fairly new customer. Over priced and dishonest company. Disappointed in my experience with them from the "office" that schedules to the tech who came to my house. Fees on top of fees on top of fees. I was quoted a price for 5 different items and they only completed 3 of the items but still charged me the full quote AND informed me there would be additional charges for them to come back out and fix the other items. I placed a request through my home warranty company Saturday. I then called first thing Sunday morning to see how quick someone could come out to help me with my water heater. Their answer machine specIfically said if I had a home warranty they would call back the next business day. So because I have a home warranty I get pushed back. So Monday afternoon Danny comes and looks at my water heater and instantly says yes you need one and talked to me like I knew codes and what was required. I said I know absolutely nothing about any of it. He said well water heaters and bigger now so you need a wider opening. He also said it would look nice if I redId the closer it was in. So since he said they didn't do that stuff I paid someone else to come out and do the 22" widening. They come back the next day with a different service person Jerred, he then says they can't install because I didn't do what DannY said. I was extremely upset, he apologized and explained why. So he said for another 250$ I could have a skinny tank put it. I was desperate... I haven't had hot water since Saturday and have a child.. it would also cost me more to have someone come out to make more adjustments to the closet. So 900$ later and a 6 hour install later (with a warranty) I have water. I also paid over 100$ for an inspection that I was told would be set up the next day. I never got a call... it's been over 2 days. It really sucks this is the only company I have to chose since I have the warranty. I had a friend who just had one places and needed code upgrades as well and it cost him the same without a warranty. Guess I'll be canceling my warranty It's now 5/19/2020 I am still waiting on my permit. The company told me they were on hold because the city quit going into homes. I Give Cody my Technician 10 stars --He was amazing- fast -Courteous- worked clean -explained everything clearly etc. --the reason for the 2 stars is the woman answering the phone, Monday the 16th, around 10 am (Liz I believe) I had contacted plumb genius via America home shield re my water heater not lighting. Cody arrived as scheduled Sat the 14th --Got right to work, discovered the issue --But was very apologetic as the store with the needed replacement part did not open until Monday. But he cleaned out the water heater base, cleaned up the broken part and said hopefully it would hold until Monday when he would return and replace it. He also showed me how to relight it In case it went out again. It did after relighting it once Sunday it wouldn't any more. American Home Shield sent these plumbers. They came out five times with seven different plumbers. The fourth time they sent a Master Plumber. He told me he had to order parts it would be two weeks. Different plumbers showed up on the fifth time and knew nothing about the situation or parts. They said they would access problem and fix it. Again, It was not. Frustrated I called in, and paid for a handyman to fix it. He did it in one hour. When I tried to talk to owner he was rude and abrasive. Customer beware!!! Our home warranty sent these guys out to our home and Cecil with Genus plumbing came to our home. Due to we had a pipe bust and leak all in our closet and garage. This guy Ceil looked at our issue and told me he was going to have to bust out our floor and wall because it was a slab leak and it had been leaking for a long time which is also what he told our warranty and so obviously they wouldn't cover it due to his verbiage. I told Cecil and my husband told Ceil this leak just happened it hasn't been leaking for a long time because we are constantly in our garage and watching our hot water tank due to it busting last year(We would have also noticed it on our water bill which we called our water utilities and they showed now leaks in the past but do show now because we have an AMR meter and they can read this right from their system). He didn't believe us and told us that's his story and he isn't changing it! $3600 to him and nothing else! We called to speak to a manager to find a resolution and they had Cecil who is not a manager call my husband and tell my husband he isn't changing his mind! We called our home warranty got a second opinion new plumbers came out said it was something they could fix wouldn't have to bust out the floor it's not a slab leak and it hasn't been leaking for a long time because they would be able to tell and we would too due to where it was! They fixed it for us with no problems and warranty covered it! We are so beyond grateful we went with our gut and the opinions of outside contractors we went to church with and our nephew who builds homes and they all said these guys are crooks! They came out to a rental property of mine with a clogged drain, and informed my tenant they couldn't clear the line, offering to scope the line the following day to find the problem. The next day, they came out, supposedly took a video of the line, and claimed it was completely blocked and or broken, and would need to tear out a bathroom vanity and part of the slab to repair the line. When I requested the camera footage, they told me they didn't save it because I didn't ask to see it when they made the appointment, and that it was an additional charge to view the footage myself. Plumb Genius has a low rating for a good reason! They do not stand behind their work! The hot water heater they replaced was leaking because they used the wrong type of material on one of the parts. They charged me the service fee as well as the cost of the correct part. The lady in the office is extremely rude and not willing to even try to help with any issues. They also over charged me the first visit when they changed out the hot water heater and I was told would be refunded but after several calls back to the office about it, I got tired of dealing with the ladies in the office so just took the loss. I cannot express how disappointed I am with this company. As a homeowner, I have frequently had to deal with companies being dishonest and presenting false information. Recently I requested a service appointment through America Home Shield. On 17 Nov 20, they sent out a plumber from a company called Plumb Genius. The technician's name was Jareed. Upon arriving, the technician assessed and informed us that the leaks were missing parts, and it would be a $165 additional charge, and he was prepared to accept that payment over the phone. I asked what the exact amount was for and he informed me it was to rebuild the plumbing and replace missing parts and labor. I requested a statement work of work and a detailed invoice to ensure I could not be overcharged and support his quote. Jareed informed me that his company charges a flat fee and would not provide a statement of work nor a detailed invoice. Also, he went on tell me that AHS only pays for the diagnosis. I immediately told him to cease any work, and that I would contact my home warranty provider to express my concerns. When we called Jareed, he informed us that he spoke with the home warranty company and resolved it. Shortly after, we received notice from AHS that the plumber filed a claim, and we would still have to come out of pocket $165. We informed the home warranty company. They were no missing part, and no rebuild was done, and in fact, the plumber merely replaced some washers. Even the home warranty company was unable to tell us what added up the $165. So apparently, Jareed filed false information in the claim to American Home Shield. Sadly, we cannot have an honest contractor doing honest work. Thought it would of been a good experience from the first time meeting the tech he was very nice. Then after he left, I will say the customer service and follow up is an absolute joke. I have called multiple times to get an update on my work order and it has now been over a week that I have been out of hot water. The first time was a miss diagnosis. This company was assigned to me by American Home Shield. They wouldn't call me, so I managed to contact them after several tries. I left several messages before finally reaching them. I had 3 clogs, 2 in the bathroom. They unclogged the worst one nicely, but that was all I ever got out of Plumb Genius. I stupidly hired them to give me an estimate on the underground pipes with a camera. My plan was to use the pictures to get an additional estimate. I was told beforehand that I would get the pictures because I will have paid for them. When the technician came out he did something in my back yard. I don't know what. He said I would have to pay to get the pictures he took off his thumb drive. I asked if he could just email them. He said he guessed so. I waited a few days and nothing. I called to ask when I could get the estimate and was told they were waiting for something from the city. I was finally given three pictures. One of my bathroom sink (?!?) and two of the outside of my house. Nothing underground. I never got an estimate and they wouldn't give me back my $275. It was more than just a ripoff. Plumb Genius misdiagnosed my plumbing issue several times, which created several unnecessary repairs that left my flooring and wall completely torn up. The last repair, which addressed the real issue, cost $3,700.13. The men doing the repair were grossly negligent and destroyed the piping and wiring for my sprinkler system. They knew I wouldn't be using it very soon since it was not the time of year for watering the lawn, and so they covered up the damage they created and didn't tell me about it. My landscaper discovered the issue right where they were digging when he started watering again. Plumb Genius refused to give me any signed documents and refused to assist with the repair. Although they may claim the damage is not their responsibility, consumers are protected by law from gross negligence, which is what occurred here. I wish I had checked out this company through the Better Business Bureau before contracting them. Do not use this company. They lack integrity and should be put out of business. read more

Jerred T. is a life saver, its the middle of the snow storm with no hot water. My pipes ended up freezing, he showed me that there was a hole in the closet where my heater was located and recommended I patch it, because freezing air coming in from the outside and was what was causing my pipes to freeze. He also checked to make sure everything else was working properly. And finally my hot water was back on. read more

Plumb genius is contracted through my home warranty company. A tech came out to check on the sound of running water in our home, which my husband was pretty sure was a leaking pip somewhere in our walls. Tech claimed that the running water was coming from our toilet. I told him it wasn't, my husband had already checked and had asked him to check for a leak elsewhere. He refused, stating that "he knew" it was the toilet. He fiddled with it some & claims to have stopped the sound we were hearing. He also checked out hot water heater (we had no hot water), and said "someone just turned it down". I informed him that wasnt the case, as no one had touched it and we had hot water days before. He told me I was wrong & left. Sound continued, and despite him "turning up the hot water", it was still out. Also, where he had fiddled with our toilet, was now broken. A piece of the inside of the toilet broke off & would not work. When we brought this up with the company they claimed he had not done anything to the toilet and they refused to fix. Meanwhile, Warranty company sent him out again and had him do a leak locate, where he found a leak (surprise, surprise). They quoted us a super inflated price, so we went with another company that charged us half of that. Additionally, when the new company came in, they did a 2nd leak locate & found that the plumb genius guy had "located the leak" in a place where there was no leak. Months after this, we had an issue with our tenant's water heater. Warranty company assigned us to Plumb Genius again. When they called I informed them we would be asking for another company due to our previous experience with them, and not to worry about our issue, we would call the warranty company back. Out of spite they told the warranty company to cancel our request and that the water heater was no longer a problem, which was completely inaccurate. Horrible service. I had a dripping spout in my tub. My home warranty company sent them out. Steve, the plumber, said oh this is easy. Done in just a few minutes. He said it was fixed and left. I turned my water on and I had water inside my wall going everywhere. Called them back and Steve came back. Turned on the hot water He then says I'm not coming back. I had to call another plumber and had to gut my shower tub combo costing my over $3000. And my house was for sale at the time. This is the end result of this company. Beware. read more

Recently I requested a service appointment through America Home Shield to have my sinks, tubs and showers inspected for any leaks due to selling the house and want to make sure everything is ok. I knew of a couple of issues that needed to be fixed. AHS sent out a plumber from Plumb Genius.  The technician's name was Jonathan.  He did arrive on-time and seemed nice. The plumber was shown around and I pointed out a couple of areas of concern. Jonathan quickly looked at the issues and went to work. He was at our house for about 2 hours while I was in my home office. I heard someone leave the house and my wife came up to tell me Jonathan had left without going over what he did and what still needed to do. One of the issues was a leak from the master bathroom shower, which he told my wife as he had her sign off on the work and rushing out the door. He told her it needed to be caulked and he wouldn't do it. Also there was a bath tub fixture that was not secure against the wall anymore due to the screw rusting off. He said he could not fix that due to missing parts - the screw only. He said he would have to call AHS to approve warranty work to fix properly - called AHS for a missing screw! He did a crappy job of a "permanent fix" until the warranty is approve, which are still waiting for. If I am able to upload pics, I will read more

"What services did they perform" is an interesting question to ask and leads me into my horrible experience with this company. I answered that question with "Repair Pipe" but they quite literally did the opposite. Plumb Genius was called to repair a gas leak at my house from American Home Shield. The first appointment available was 5 days after I requested service. The plumber pulls up to my house (fully equipped with the knowledge that the gas was turned off by ONG, as it could have killed my family living in a house for 5 days with active gas leaking) and he stated that I was going to have to pay $375 for an air pressure test to find the leak as it was not going to be covered by American Home Shield. I scheduled another appointment with Plumb Genius, their earliest appointment was 6 days after the first (where the technician was paid a $125 service fee for absolutely 0 work done. Never even stepped foot inside). They come to my property for the 2nd time to run the test that I was paying out of pocket for. They arrived at my home at 2:30 and were there until 7pm. Their claim to me was that they had found 2 leaks but there was a 3rd that they could not locate. They swore up and down that the only spot it could be was in the fireplace and they needed a special tool to get to the leak in the fireplace. (It was late and they wanted to go home. There is no special tool required to move gas logs and look for a leak). Myself and the home warranty company demanded to them that they needed to come out the next morning to repair as it had been 12 full days with no hot water, cooking, laundry, dishwasher, heat. They called me to make the appointment and stated that "American Home Shield denied the claim to fix the 3rd leak and it was going to be $575 out of pocket, and $275 to open each valve that they closed." They never once mentioned that closing the valve (to keep the regulator safe) would result in a $275 fee to open again, times 2! The total was going to be $1250 out of pocket on top of the $375 Air Pressure test and $125 service fee. This is absolutely absurd. I cancelled their appointment and had an actually reputable plumber come to my house. Come to find out, the air pressure test is covered by the home warranty and they charged me to shut a valve and for a permit. They lied about what the $375 fee was for so that the customer would pay it and not know what they were talking about. Within the first 10 minutes of him being there, he found the gas leak. The leak was where Plumb Genius had claimed to completely repair it! They lied about the repair so that the air pressure test would show there was still an active leak, so that American Home Shield would deny the claim, and they would get $1250 out of my pocket. This is illegal, unethical, and disgusting. I have filed an FTC fraud complaint, BBB complaints, and I have filed a police report. There have been multiple lawsuits against Plumb Genius, check OSCN for more information on those. This is clearly a common reoccurrence with their company and I couldn't say a single good thing about them. Read the hundreds of reviews on Google, Yelp, BBB, Facebook groups, and so on. I have images and proof from others, including ONG, that they lied about making repairs to squeeze money out of this job. I am appalled, disgusted, and I hope that the police investigate this company to their full ability and find that they are stealing from customers. read more

I was worried after reading reviews that this was going to be a bad experience. I even went as far as to call my home warranty and try to get another plumber. The home warranty company assured me they would not do business with anyone if they had continual issues with them. So I kept my appointment. They called to let me know they were on their way and showed up on time. They came in and fixed the issues we had in a very timely manner. They explained what the issues were. We had no issues with them and I would recommend. read more

Could not be happier! Their technician Jerrod came out to look at my water heater. He was super polite and patient with me (I was 15 mins late to meet him at my house) and within the hour he was done! Replaced the gas valve and I'm all good to go. On Christmas Eve too! So thankful :) read more
