Writing another review because these guys have come through time and time again. We bought a multi-unit property a year ago and its old. We have a home warranty on the property because of its age and all the unknowns. Just setting the stage. We were assigned to Plumber Boy through our home warranty after another plumber assigned completely botched the job and these guys were assigned by home warranty to fix the situation. Home Warranty can be tough and will sometimes deny things/give us a hard time. These guys have made that process easier. Sometimes there is a portion we have to pay out of pocket, but that's usually home warranty denying things, not these guys trying to make an extra buck. We actually request them through our warranty when we have a plumbing issue since I hate going through the discovery phase of a new vendor. (lets just say some are bad and I don't have the patience.) We have also used them for our home (without a home warranty) because they are that good. David and Denny have always been helpful in explaining things and Alex is the best and always comes through with doing the repairs and explaining/showing pics, etc. The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly they can get the job done. Wish I could give NO STARS; I had three different guys out on three different days. Alex was the best, but David was the worst. The company was sent by my Home warranty company when my washing machine couldn't drain properly. David was ultimately out to run a camera after the previous two techs hydrojeted the drain line with no blockage issues. David lied to the Home Warranty stating "plastic pieces" had caused the blockage in the line, but was not able to run a camera in part of that line due to the traps. Today Home Warranty set out plumber #6 who opened up the wall, cut into the trap, that no one else had been able to cleaning or video & it was clogged with...dirt & sludge, not plastic! Trap was replaced, and FIXED, no thanks to "Plumber Boy". Use at your own risk. Don't let them waste your money! read more

The first experience was not that great because they saw a greater job than expected and said they would contact my home warranty company to see if they covered the extra work and call me back. They did not call me nor return my voicemail. I had to talk to the warranty company to get them to call me back and schedule an appt a month later. Alex came out and did an excellent job. This review goes to DAVE and DAVE only. I have seen Dave 4 times...4 times now in the past several weeks. We bought a brand new home. With a brand new tankless water heater and few months ago..our hot water just stopped. He took the time to meet with us to figure out what was going on. He was even on hold for 3.5 hrs on his second visit with the tankless water company just to speak with a representative. We were all perplexed because he adjusted it, put it in different settings to see if it would fix it and on the third visit we did get hot water but then after a few minutes...gone again. We FINALLY figured out the issue. It's not the hot water heater....its the cold return line attached to the recirculating pump....and if you don't know what that means it means the developer (whose a well known developer in this area who builds multi million dollar homes) had a plumber who did shotty work.... Funny enough...our neighbor was also having plumbing issues (same developer). So I just want to say. Dave, you're amazing! Thank you for coming so many times and trying to figure out why we didn't have hot water. For your patience. For teaching me a few things. I appreciated plumbers and their field but when you have plumbing issues you appreciate them even more. So if you have plumbing issues...call these guys and ask for Dave. Just don't do it...especially if your home warranty pairs you up with them. Got work done at my place, but never actually got an invoice for the work that was done. They added repairs that I now know should not have been done. Requested an invoice from their office, but was never given one. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Complete fraud that will be reported. Came out to fix a leak that they didn't fix properly the first time. Told me they would order the parts and return in a few weeks. Never heard back. In fact, they reported falsely to the home warranty company that there was no issue, and I got stuck with the service fee. DO NOT TRUST PLUMBER BOY. I was robbed of a refund of a payment I made to my home warrranty because of this ill practice I experienced with Plumber Boy. As a contracted third party through my home warranty, they were to be scheduled for an appointment to repair a leaky plumbing and to change our valve and relocate to the other side of the wall. On the day, the employee of this business came in and asked if we filled the forms and if we had documentations from the insurance company, an asbestos test for the wall, and proof of a 48-hour notice to other tenants that the water was going to be shut off... Of course we didn't nor were we given prior notice of all these requirements from them. He said without them he will not do the work, and left. The mannerism was that he knew we wouldn't have it and was getting paid just to show up and say he inspected it. And for this reason, I was not able to get refunded for a lot of money I spent on nothing. Meanwhile, water was still leaking. FYI the home warranty noticed the request for an asbestos test was not notated in their communication. read more

I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. This company was assigned to me by my home warranty. I had a leaky toilet. David came out and carefully inspected the toilet and said it was the flange and wax ring. A week later, he sent out a younger kid to fix it. He seemed to be having a lot of trouble removing toilet and tank and was really banging things around. In the middle he came downstairs and said he had to call his boss (looked a little uneasy), after he stepped outside to call him, he went back upstairs and "finished" the job. He came downstairs and said that he was done but there was a crack in the tank/bowl that may be causing the leak. I got a 2nd opinion from a plumber who said those types of cracks may be caused by overtightening of the bowl. I called Dave and he said that it was manufacturer defect, I also said that they younger tech never cut the bolts to put the caps back on. He came back out and cut the bolts. Today I inspected the bolts and noticed that the bowl isn't even bolted to the ground! I think they have bad workmanship and he was an inexperienced plumber. Now the call to the boss and nervousness makes sense. My thought is that he cracked the toilet and now they are denying that it was their fault. Funny how I can now easily see the crack and the tech can too but the experienced owner of the plumbing company didn't see it on his initial inspection. read more

Terrible service. Called 5 days after the initial 24hr window I was told I would be contacted on. Was brought out to address a clog in the shower and hydrojet some earlier unfinished job they were responsible for. Instead he pulled some hair from bathroom and began threatening us with a 10k job if he to come back out again. The insanity of being told I would have to demo my shower floor to clear a pipe is just too much. Complete professional .incompetence, and zero customer service. read more

Several months ago, Plumber Boy was assigned to perform a repair at my house by my home warranty company. They set an appointment window but didn't show up. Additionally, they never called to apologize or set a new appointment. I called the home warranty company to select a different plumber. Recently, my home warranty company assigned Plumber Boy to diagnose a problem with my house's hot water system: failure to deliver hot water to faucets in a timely fashion. Plumber Boy did not show up for their assigned appointment, but they did reschedule for later that same day. After three visits to my house, Plumber Boy concluded that there was nothing to fix, the hot water system was as good as it was going to get, and that I just needed to live with it. I explained several times that the hot water system was perfect just a few months prior, but they dismissed this fact and did not take it into consideration. When their two tankless hot water heaters experts agreed that the problem was not solvable, I went onto YouTube and quickly found two possible approaches: 1) clean the small filter on the tankless water heater, and 2) perform a descaling service by flushing the water heater with a vinegar-based solution. I performed service #1 by myself, and the hot water problem was instantly fixed! I decided to give Plumber Boy one more chance and called them (independent of my home warranty company) to see if they wanted to perform service #2. I left three messages for them, and they never returned my calls. Overall, the employees with whom I worked at Plumber Boy were extremely nice when we talked on the phone and in person. However, they were unable to diagnose and/or fix a problem with a tankless water heater, and they were completely nonresponsive to my phone calls and voicemails. Unfortunately, I would not recommend engaging with Plumber Boy if time is of the essence, or if you have a tricky problem to solve. read more

We noticed a leak coming out from underneath our sink. We called our home warranty to schedule a service and our home warranty sent Plumber Boy. They came fairly quickly after making the request so I'll give them that. However, after the plumber identified the problem as our garbage disposal/ pipes being corroded which is causing the leak, he said that he would need to order a special part to replace whatever it was that needed replacing. The plumber gave us a timeframe of 1 week to order the part and then set up an appointment. After 2 weeks passed, we got no call or update regarding the order or setting up a follow up appointment. After multiple calls going to voicemail, we finally got a woman over the phone who answered that said they just received the special part and that the office will call us back to schedule an appointment with dispatch. Another week rolls by...and no phone call or update yet again. We call our home insurance a few days ago to let them know we would like another provider because of all the trouble so far...and the associate put us on hold for a few minutes, claims he spoke to someone from Plumber Boy, and was told that they would PROMISE to call us to schedule an appointment for Friday (today), and of course...no call, no update, phone goes straight to voicemail yet again. After reading other reviews on here recently, this seems to be a common theme. My advice is if you have the option to go somewhere else, please do. The first time we saw someone or spoke with someone from plumber boy was in the beginning of September. It is now mid October and we've yet to receive any information or assistance. read more

David was quick in responding and discovered the leak under my kitchen sink was due to the Moen faucet. He let me know it had a life time warranty. He ordered it, and when it was shipped to my home he came out and installed it. We are very happy with the service from Plumber Boy! read more

I'll just start out by saying Plummer Boy was assigned to me through my home warranty. I was able to schedule an appointment the same week but was concerned about the long time frame of arrival, 4 hours. I was reassured that the plumber would put me at the top of the list as the first stop. The day of the appointment the plumber called to say he would arrive within 10 minutes. When 15 minutes passed I called to hear he arrived. He brought up what was needed. I informed him of the diagnosis from a previous technician and so he began snaking the washer drain. About 30 minutes later it was complete. The washer drain was unclogged, for now, and that was all that could be done. read more

Stay away! They wanted money up-front just to look at a problem I had with a sewage pump and gave a quote which was MUCH higher than the company I finally had do the work. They just pulled a number out of the air. I also had a small pipe leak that needed repaired, but they first wanted a cleanup company, maybe their buddies, to dry the area first. They wanted $2800 and to turn our water off for 4-5 days. I called another plumber and they fixed the leak in 20 minutes for $175. Don't use these people. read more

They did a great job diagnosing the problems which I thought would not be fixed right away, pending the reports and approval from home warranty. One of the problems was an easy fix. Like a lot of the other reviewers, we got set up with Plumber Boy by our home warranty company. We hate our home warranty company (fuck you, Fidelity), but they did a good thing by sending Plumber Boy our way. We had a rattly garbage disposal for months before finally working up the initiative to put in a work order. If I'd known how easy it was (aside from Fidelity holding us up), I would've dealt with it much earlier. We made an appointment with Plumber Boy, and Michael and David showed up and spent a total of ten minutes fixing our problems. They were really polite and professional, and they made quick work of our disposal, extracting all the evils that had built up and contributed to that weird rattle (there was a screw in there, among other things, I have no idea what from). We'd noticed another one of our sinks was draining a little slowly and I asked if they'd also be able to look at that while they were here. They said because of the home warranty connection, they could only do what was specified in the work order, but ah, what the hey, they looked anyway and totally just unclogged that sink in minutes, gratis. I tipped for that, but have no idea what they would've charged. It was really nice of them to take care of it, and I'm glad all our sinks are working again. We're not planning to renew our home warranty when it runs out in a couple of months, but I'm glad to have Plumber Boy for future plumbing mishaps. We're very happy with the service from "Plumber Boy" here in San Pedro .We had a straight pipe that must have had a weak spot ( inl the ceiling ) and started spraying, but luckily hadnt burst. We're getting a few other plumbing problems fixed, now, but need more major work later. Their good attitude and work ethic, as well as the quick clean up of any mess necessitated by the work, was well appreciated. Also appreciated is their honesty about what might really be needed for long term fix and costs involved. We will certainly call them back in the future for less urgent but more substantial work.
