The service man did the job of changing two Moen Positemp shower cartridges last Saturday. What I find unacceptable is the exorbitant price they charged $299 for each replaced shower cartridge for a total of $598.00. Other plumbing companies I have used have charged around $170 for the replacement of the same two Moen Positemp shower cartridges. Made an appointment for a free estimate to see cost of hooking up natural gas to a bar-b-q. The home is new and has natural gas running to it. Patio is 30 feet away. Estimate was next day. The office called a d asked if it was ok to come out early as technician was available. I said yes after confirming with the wife she was avail. They actually didn't come early. But that's not the problem. The estimate was on a Tuesday. I was told the technician would contact me later that day. Later that day ...nothing. The next day went by and I called them just before end of business. I was told tech would reach out. Nothin'. Thursday I call and ask if it was something I may have said as to why they wouldn't quote me. They apologized and again said tech would get back to me. They "promised" . Nothing. Friday I again call (see the pattern?) and "Allen" tells me the technician would for sure reach out. Nothin'. I called Tuesday (yesterday) and spoke to Angela. I again asked if they wanted my business or not. After all they spent time and effort on tech coming out. She finally got it done. She said that her tech sent me the bid to my email but he claims to have been blocked. Which isn't possible. And if he thought he was blocked then why not get help from his office . Her email came right through. The bid was Ridiculous. A few dollars short of $3k to run a gas line 25 feet ?? I don't think so. I knew after day 4 of waiting and me calling them I wouldn't hire them to unclog a sink or a toilet let alone trusting them with a gas line. The reason for the review ? To help the owner. I have had a terrible experience using Plumbing Experts. We had a leak under our sink and after 3 visits from this company, we still have a leak under the sink. The leak is coming from the kitchen faucet. Each time we were required to pay for our visit but I still have the same issue after 3 service calls. Today I spoke with Roberta, a supervisor. I requested that since I already paid for 3 previous visits with no resolution to our issue, I would like a no charge service call and replace the kitchen faucet I just bought. She said that we would still have to pay for the installation and would credit back our last visit. I believe that if this was properly diagnosed on our first service call then we could have resolved the entire problem in 2 service calls. Now they want me to pay for 4 visits. Not only would the guy who came to the house not apply the visit fee to the final bill, when he left I looked in my trash and he had thrown out a spoon and a bowl he found in the sink when he did my sink repair. They are more expensive than other plumbers in my area, but they say they will apply the service fee to the final bill, so I thought I'd try them. Not at all a good experience. Very professional! We had a major pipe break and had the water company come and shut off the valve and told us to call a plumber. We just got an advertising post card from Plumbing Experts which I saved. I called them at night and the plumber was here first thing in the morning. He replaced the pipe and everything was back to normal in a short time. I am so impressed with their efficiency and knowledge. I made a desperate call last night around 8 pm looking for a plumber to come to my restaurant ASAP to find and repair a water leak coming from a wall in my kitchen. See my Home Depot review for the back story to this review. All I wanted was a new electric water heater to replace the 20yo water heater that began leaking on Friday afternoon. Short story: I went to Home Depot on Friday night, saw their water heaters with stickers that say, Same Day Installation If You Call By 12PM!, and made an appointment to have someone call me on Saturday so I could get a new water heater on Saturday. But Home Depot's contractor, Florida Delta Mechanical, never called me. Ever! And they didn't take any of the three calls I made to them, either. And when I re-visited Home Depot on Saturday, there was nothing they could do about it. Okay, then, Plan B is in operation now! So, I called Plumbing Experts on Saturday @ 1:30PM, the day before Easter Sunday, because I have my visiting in-laws staying with me with no hot water on a holiday weekend. Ahhh! The Plumbing Experts dispatcher tried to help me, but wasn't as helpful as I needed her to be, but she thankfully handed me over to her service manager, who was helpful. After talking about different options, I went with their standard, residential, 50 gallon water heater with a 6 year warranty (Home Depot's Rheem models had better warranties, but if they're serviced by Florida Delta Mechanical, those warranties are as worthless as the stickers on boxes that say they do Same Day Installation If You Call By 12PM). They give me a phone quote for the whole job, and, later, that phone quote is exactly what I'll pay (except I'll redeem one of their coupons that they put into mailers all the time, saving me $100 off the phone quote, which was a reasonable cost in the first place). So by 2PM, I made an appointment on a Saturday on a holiday weekend. By 3PM, Andrew shows up. He's friendly, capable. He removes the 80 gallon tank that was leaking, installs the new 50 gallon tank, does all the soldering (no flex tubes!) that's needed. He adds a new cold water valve because mine is old, was a little leaky. Nothing unexpected here, no add-on costs to remove the old tank or whatever. A few hours later, everything is done. We have hot water so everyone can take showers before we head to church on Easter Sunday morning. Bonus: the water is hotter now than it used to be, so even though we've got a smaller tank than before, the water is hotter so we really lose no capacity than what we had before. I don't waste my time writing false reviews but I will take the time to write an accurate review, whether it is positive or negative, to alert customers so they may make informed decisions. Here is the original and accurate review: 2/8/2019 They failed on numerous levels; we do not recommend this service if you like professional, reliable, and courteous service. First of all the repairman, when trying to replace the shower cartridge, allowed water to drain down the inside of the wall. I asked him to prevent that from happening; so he slowly put a paper towel which didn't do much to stop the remaining water in the pipes from draining to the inside of the wall. Shouldn't he have run the shower faucet first to drain it before taking it apart? I told him we were worried the water inside the wall would cause mold and he said not to worry about it... on top of that, he didn't fix the toilet flapper correctly the first time and was supposed to come back the next day which is when the next problem occurred. He didn't show up or call within the designated window they promised he would be there. When I called their office to ask where he was they said he was having lunch. I asked why they didn't call me and she said they have to have lunch... I suggested that they don't schedule during lunch time and requested that they call when they can't make the appointment. Reschedule number 2: During the 2nd appointment he started to take off the shower faucet while the water was running on high. I told him to turn the faucet back off and asked why he wouldn't turn the main water line off. He told me to turn off the main water line. I told him no, that he should do it since we already paid them $500 from the first visit. He had a terrible attitude, shook his head at me, and became visibly irritated when he had to replace the toilet flapper to prevent it from running. All around terrible customer service from the main office and the repairman. For the prices they charge they should have a reasonable amount of customer service and repairman who know what they are doing and are courteous to their customers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- And this is the company reply over a year after my terrible experience with their company. On a Friday afternoon another plumbing company supposedly fixed a clog. Later that evening, water was everywhere and dripping to my neighbors condo below. "Other Company" wouldn't take my calls and I was panicked! Most of the "emergency 24/7 plumber" status is a JOKE (except them), no one answers the phone. Thankfully, I got in touch with Plumbing Experts and Greg F. was at my condo Saturday morning. He was fair and flexible on the price he quoted (he gave a 10% discount). It was a tough job and he busted his butt to find the clog and fix it. I highly recommend this company! Ask for Greg F when you call them. He is great! Called to have a 24" cracked composite sink top replaced. Faucet needed to be disconnected, removal of cracked top caulked to wall and then new sink top added to base and faucet reconnected. Sounds complicated but NOT! $379 to do the work?? Got them down to $289 and they scoffed it was a big job..... We allowed them to do it because it was a tenants apt.....it was a job that took less than 45 minutes! No parts needed, only caulk! We own several rentals, have used them many times, for tunneling, toilet installs, toilet parts replaced, tub installs, sink installs, but this was the LAST time! Way too overpriced. My bathroom sink plastic joint broke. Could not find the correct piece to fix it myself from Home Depot. They said they had never seen that piece. Talked to Lisa at Plumbing Experts and told her I had a photo of the piece I needed. I was told we don't need it we have parts on the truck. The plumber did not have the piece, gave me two choices, he could go back to warehouse and look for it and charge me $269 for driving there and back with no guarantee of finding it or replacing the faucet for $600+ on a builders grade faucet.
