2 experiences. First, I needed my toilet snaked, very usual problem. First tech couldn't figure it out alone, had to call his " supervisor". Second guy came with camera and tried to up sell me into a job costing $20,000. When I said I couldn't afford it they said they'd be happy to finance it. I bet they would. Said obviously I would get bids on a big job. They tried to scare me into buying it with horror stories of raw sewage in the basement. Second, today my daughter needed the same simple job done. Called to schedule but they were very disorganized and promised to call back. She waited 4 hours, then called them back and once again was told they would call her. They never bothered to call back. In the meantime she called another plumber and he fixed the problem in 15 minutes. I'll never call them again, and neither will she. Learn from our mistakes. UPDATE !! I had Plumbline here about 7 months ago and they told me I would need a new sewer line from the house to the alley for 20 grand. Today I had Garvin's here to roto root and he said (after using a camera down the line) that the whole thing is fine, no roots at all from the yard to the alley - a few from the yard to the house but no big deal and roots can be killed with products you get at Ace Hardware. So once again - Stay away from Plumbline. read more

They were supposed to do a 22 point inspection, but informed me I needed a new furnace and showed me dust and corroded photos; I had to call them to get the results from the inspection. He stayed such a short time, it wasn't clear what he really did besides taking photos and making a list of replacement parts. Talked with their leadership and they were rude. read more

8/9/219 Had a pinhole leak in basement water pipe Shut off water to house, cut out leak section & replaced with 6" section of copper pipe & couplings. However, we had not soldered before & could not solder the joints which were near the floor joists where we could not see well. Tried several times & could not accomplish the solder. Called Plumbline who advised the trip charge was $39 & would be waived if we accepted the repair quote & did the job. The tech was there in just over 1 hr. We showed him the section & advised all we needed was the soldering. He then proceeded to quote us a total price of $450 for what should have been a 30-45 minute job even if he re-did our work. We objected. He then offered a discount to $375 which was still outrageous. His bid included 10' of copper pipe & 4 couplings for a 6" section. We are not plumbers but we can figure this out. We objected again & said we'd consider other options. We went to Home Depot & bought Shark Bites & fixed the problem ourselves for under $20 & under 30 minutes which we should have done in the first place. So he charged us the $39 trip charge for a 15-20 minute conversation & left. Then we thought about the experience...what a business model! Charge a trip charge of $39, show up at the residence and quote an exorbitant price so the homeowner either pays the high repair charge or the trip charge. If the repair price is not accepted, the trip charge of $39 is collected 1-3x per hour with no work being done & charges collected by the tech of $1,000 - $1,100 per day (8-9 hrs. of trip charges) with no effort other than to show up. Never again with this company & we will not recommend them due to this predatory practice. read more

We had a clogged bathroom sink drain and called Plumbline. Our technician was Mike Quarry. He showed up exactly on time after calling me to let me know that he was on his way. Mike was very professional, friendly and polite. He quickly checked the drain and proceeded to clear the clog in the line running down to the main line in the basement. While clearing the drain he ran into a problem which he quickly solved and cleared the line without any other issues. Due to the age of our house Mike also needed to replace the line running from the sink trap into the wall. He also did this quickly and with no additional charge. Mike made sure that all of my questions were answered, made sure that the drain was running free and clear and cleaned up everything under and around the sink. I would definitely call Plumbline services again and would ask to have Mike Quarry as my technician. read more

I called this plumbing company because I had a basement drain which overflowed. First I tried chat, and they agreed to call me to schedule an appointment in the morning. I waited but no phone call. Finally, I called them and again explained the issue. They agreed to call back within one hour to schedule the technician's visit to repair the problem. Guess what, no phone call. Tried calling 3 more times but each time I was disconnected after a brief recording that my call would be recorded. I gave up and called another company who immediately scheduled a technician and they actually came out 2 hours early. Don't bother calling them if you have an emergency. After being quoted a $50 service call fee, the technician announced it was actually a $150.00 diagnosis fee and "the girls in the front office didn't know when they said it was $50 - it is actually $50 plus $150 to say what issue is then the fee to correct". Felt like a stickup. The cost was almost $400 dollars for a 45 minute fix. Very deceptive business practices. JUST SAY NO! We had a leak in our basement called Plumbline and they dispatched Vince R. He was great fixed the problem in no time, very professional answered all our questions. If we have any future plumbing issues we are going to request that he comes to get the job done. We were also redoing all our electrical outlets due to a few that were not working. Bring your wallet if you hire Plumbline. Had them out for a quote for a 240V breaker panel install for a hot tub. $1500 for a simple run with no obstructions. The parts pricing was insane: Panel $445.00. Same panel at Home Depot: $84.00 (500% increase). 50A breaker: $169.00. Same breaker at HD: $10.48 (1700% increase). The list goes on. Search again and find someone who is not trying to gouge you. I did the job myself for $350.00 and the inspector just left my house, no issues. All set and I have an extra $1200 to use elsewhere. read more

Made an appointment for an ac service which was scheduled about two weeks out. On the day they were to arrive they cancelled and wanted to reschedule our "furnace" service. Our A/C was blowing hot last week. Called them up and was on the schedule quick! Brian called me 30 mins before appointment and said he was on the way. he showed up right on time. Brian checked out the unit and diagnosed it as being a few lbs low on freon. He told me exactly how much the repair was going to be (under $350) and I agreed to it, "I thought it was going to be way more". About 45 mins later it's blowing cold cold cold. I figured he was going to try to upsell me but to my surprise he said that's all I needed. I paid the bill on by CC and recieved an email with the invoice, pictures of the unit and warranty info. These guys are great. Professional, clean cut, great pricing. Plesently surprised. I was once ripped off by some other company so I am always leary of hvac companies. Scheduled an appointment on their Website, including providing photos of the leaking valve and perforated pipe that needed to be replaced. The day they were supposed to send a plumber, I got a call from their dispatcher, and when I answered the phone, she was on the other end involved in a loud conversation with someone else. She then hung up and made three more calls in rapid succession and left two voicemails saying that she wanted to "update" me on my job (meanwhile, I was in the middle of a conference call for work). I tried the rest of the day to call them back and was either put on perpetual hold or nobody answered the phone. Late in the afternoon, I finally reached their stellar dispatcher who informed me they didn't send anyone due to being short of techs and having another "emergency." FYI, they didn't send anyone today, either. First they claimed the technician's truck wouldn't start in the morning, then, when he called around noon, he said he was 30 mins out and I needed to call the company first to confirm the appointment - unreal, right? So... once again, I tried repeatedly to reach someone at the company. Twice I was put on hold so they could call their dispatcher and twice they never returned to the phone because they could not get the dispatcher on the line. Really? She has WAY too much control. I finally got routed to this woman again, and guess what, she wanted to reschedule for another day, that's right, because I could not get through, I would have to reschedule the appointment a third time. Oh, she did offer to send someone at midnight, instead of waiting for the next day. You can expect to spend your precious time trying to reach someone by phone at Plumbline, then being put on hold while they contact their dispatcher and then having nobody come back to the phone, because apparently, they can never reach the damn dispatcher. You'll be disappointed when no one shows up, then you'll get BS stories about how busy they are, or how some other "emergency" came up, or how hard they were working to reach you. By far, one of the worst, if not THE worst plumbing company when it comes to customer service - they've clearly decided to spend their money on ads, not on improving their operations or customer service. read more

The tech was very nice but much like some of the other reviews I was told my AC unit had all kinds of things wrong with it and suggested almost $5,000 in repairs and cleaning. I was quoted a price of $49.00 to come and look at our upstairs AC unit. The tech came over and looked at the unit outside. He then went upstairs to look at the unit, which he did not do. instead he said to diagnose the AC there was a fee of 189.00 the 49.00 fee was just to bring him out to the house. He then recommended changing the filters and went on his merry way. Needless to say changing the filters did not fix the problem. What was wrong was the GFI outlet was out and shut the AC off. Full disclosure: I had previously written a review that was less than satisfactory... To my surprise, I was contacted by by management, and was treated with respect and appreciation. I have had several dealings with Plumbline in the past, and their work has always been top notch. That is indisputable. My issues had to do with short comings in customer service. Or perceived shortcomings. One of the best ways to judge a company isn't in how they handle day to day operations, but in how they handle problems. It is human nature to blame someone else, or to ignore the problem altogether. What happenned in regards to my " problem" with Plumbline, is that they recognized the problem, admitted to it, took full accountability of it, said that they were sorry, and fixed it. Called for a heater check. Price was right but what a hassle and not sure if I got an actual check up. First you have to call to let them know that you want to schedule an appointment but they can't do it. You have to wait for the scheduler to call you back. They called and we scheduled the appointment. They called again and wanted to schedule an appointment (told them we already had one). They called again to verify (sigh). They called to let us know they were on the way. They require to sit down and spend 10 min talking about how your airflow and heating is doing, etc. tech put the heater on manual high temperature and promised to adjust it before he left. They spent an hour checking the furnace and hoses. Then a sit down of the bad news. The tech pointed at a picture of clean and dirty generic coil and stated mine looked more like the really dirty one. I asked if he took a picture of mine and he said no. He than produced a list of all the things that should be updated/cleaned/changed.You can become a member and get cheaper prices. The whole thing was like a timeshare presentation. We stated we were not ready to spend that kind of money but like a copy of the items they recommended to address to think about it. Nope. No copy given. He promised to email it. Never happened. They also never put the temp back. Not that we can't do that but it shows a lack of detail and attention. They did follow up with a phonecall but wasn't able to take it. Used them a couple of months ago to snake the main line. They called on the day of and rescheduled, had to take a day off of work for that. Also had someone come to estimate a leaking drain pipe. Three weeks ago I scheduled the leak repair for a Monday. They called late Friday afternoon to say the tech couldn't make it Monday. When I asked I learned since he bid the job they wouldn't give it to anyone else!! Not taking another day off because of their inability to have someone come to the house and do the work. Maybe use them for snaking out the main line, maybe. If your customer schedules the work three weeks out you should be able to make it happen. I understand the small guy being flaky with schedules, I DONT understand a big company being flaky like that. WONT USE YOU AGAIN OR RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYONE EITHER. read more

I'm impressed with Plumbline's grasp of technology but their rates are gold plated. Called them because they have good reviews on Nextdoor. I can schedule online, get text messages to confirm appts, a link to a map that shows me where the tech is when they are in transit, and calls are promptly answered. However, rates are a mystery as nothing is revealed until they are on-site even if photos are provided. Example is we had a water leak at a property, sent photos of leak from the basement view under the bathroom, and agreed to a $49 service fee to troubleshoot the problem. When the tech arrived they said it was a bad wax ring at the toilet and wanted $355 to replace it, which included the $49 troubleshooting fee. Had to do it because we had to stop the leak. It's been a month and the repair has held with no issues, but the charge was crazy high. Took the plumber all of 20 minutes. Wondering if the techs are contractors who set their own rates and pay Plumbline a commission. Don't mind paying more for good service, but cannot seem to get a quote for issues that are straight forward, like replacing three wired smoke alarms on a property. read more

What a time. After the recent cold spell for a day and I turned on my furnace but it didn't come on. The A/C works fine but no heat. I called and did get an appointment for the next day and the technician did call beforehand. My window was between 12-5 pm. He showed at 4:30 and took a look at the furnace and instantly quoted me for $1100 for a part that rarely breaks on a furnace that's less than 5 years old (his words). He also said that I needed my furnace cleaned for their VIP service of $99, so I agreed to it. He shut off my furnace altogether and said that the Inducer needed to be replaced because it wasn't spinning. It wasn't because he shut off the furnace!. Plus, he never touched the thermostat?. But I agreed to the fix, which was supposed to happen the next day but that day never came. I received a call the next morning from the tech and that was the best thing to have happened. The rare part was not available because they had so many go down and that it would be at least 5 days. In that time, my gut feeling was to get a second opinion. I called another company and they responded to come by the next morning. Within 5 minutes, he had my furnace working. He looked at the trouble codes and showed me that by the codes appearing that the furnace was operating fine. All he did was to turn the furnace back on that the Plumbline tech turned off and switched the thermostat over to heat and turned up the setting. He said that anyone in the HVAC community should have had the furnace going within 5 minutes but Plumbline wanted to milk me for over $1100 for an Inducer that worked perfectly fine. Stay away from this company at all costs. I've used them before but never again. Always get a second opinion when things seem a little off. I called their office and canceled the Inducer installation and the VIP service cleaning. I was supposedly directed to their customer complaint department but I haven't heard from them after leaving a message or their billing department which I tried to cancel the payment for the VIP service but to no avail and the payment went through which I will be contacting my credit card company. This happened almost 2 weeks ago and still no word from anyone at Plumbline. What horrible business practices. Anything for a buck during the time of COVID I guess. read more

BAD BAD BAD experience with this company. They majorly misdiagnosed a sewer line issue we had recently. And the work they did do was sloppy. So sloppy that the Denver city inspector made them come back and properly finish the job. Too bad is was all money wasted since they missed the real root cause. -11 degrees frozen pipes for my elderly parents. plumbline arrived at 2pm ($42.95 service call). the tech replaced broken pressure regulator valve and small exposed section of PVC pipe! told my dad he owed $750!!! I have called several other reputable, local plumbing companies to inquire about fixing such an issue and was quoted between $225 & 325. at the end my dad did not even understand what had been replaced. the tech showed him a "price book" and told him that's their cost for the part so that's why it was so expensive. general mgr was unconcerned. if you want to pay well above what you should, then go here. I called Plumbline for a quote on a new furnace and AC unit. My house is 1800 sq ft with a 900 sq ft basement. Bottom line, they came out and a friendly bloke gave a nice presentation which ended with a price of just about $15,000. After we discussed price, he lowered the price to $9700.00. I ended up paying another company $6500.00 for the same equipment. Bottom line - if there is that much play in your price points, then this BS about having the "trust" of the customer is a lie. I woke up this morning to a cold house and a broken heater. We waited until my husband returned from his travels this evening to call a service, and chose Plumbline on the recommendation of our neighbor, who said that they'd done right by him. (For the record, they'd botched part of the neighbor's drainage job but returned promptly to fix the issue.) I definitely can not complain about the customer service. The technician showed up exactly on the hour wait we'd been quoted. He was personable and professional, and quoted us a cost of $303 to replace our cracked ignition switch. While he worked on doing that, my husband looked up the cost of the part online. $25 We were lucky that the technician's universal ignition switch wasn't working with our heater; after remarking about the high cost of the service compared to the low cost of the part, we were able to reject further service since he couldn't fix it. The technician was outstanding. We really appreciated his effort and honesty, and I would give HIM alone 5 stars, but for the basic fact that they were going to charge us $303 for a $25 part and what I assume is labor, I would never, ever recommend this company for heating services. read more

PlumbLine has been to my house more times than I can count (water heater, furnace, sump pump, toilets, air conditioner). I need a new air conditioner, and i know exactly what I want. I realize that some home owners may not know the difference between a 1300 SEER and a 1600 SEER, but I do. All I wanted was an estimate. I provided my address, the size and year of the house, the number of vents, and the answer I received was: "We don't show that we have been to this property before." They asked me what my phone number was...instead of giving me an estimate. If I wanted the price of a 2020 Subaru Outback, I would have ten offers from ten dealers in ten minutes. We had a Leakey gasket in a shower. We needed it repaired. So we used the Tom Martino trouble shooters page and found Plumbline Services Everything on the front end was great. We made a appointment and Plumbline called to verify the day before. The day of the appointment another call came with a time. So far so good The problems came when the plumbing crew came out The lead guy was very pushy and tried to up sell everything. He wanted us to have a soft water treatment system put in. Then he really pushed us to have a new pressure regulator put in. All we needed was to get a gasket fixed We finally convinced him to only do the gasket. Before any work was done, he gave us a proposal for the repair of over $300.00 He told us it would be less expensive if we purchased a maintenance plan. We said no - yet again Because we wanted them to leave and we needed the repair done we authorized the work order for $300 to repair the gasket. We are not dumb - we understood we were overpaying. - we just wanted the work done and these guys gone When the repair work was being done - the lead guy was making small talk with my twenty year old daughter. (This was her bathroom - so it was right next to her room). I did not hear any of the conversation - but my daughter told me the talk was a little too flirty. " so do you like hot showers". " how hot do you take the showers". "Do you take long hot showers" The work they did was done and seemed sound. When we paid the invoice - we were told NO Warranty because we did not buy the soft water treatment and the pressure system. You might have noticed I never mentioned the other guy on the crew. This is because he stayed in out front room on his cell phone. I could clearly hear the conversation. He was on a phone / job interview with another plumbing company. This work was done about 6 months ago. So why the Yelp review now? Simple - I received a card in the mail for $50 bucks off and a thank you note - thanking us for the business. I won't go as far as to say KayGee Jackson, Excavation Project Supervisor for Plumbline was trying to scam us, but I will say he was not looking out for our best interest. 4/27/2023, we had Plumbline services come to our home to clean out our main sewer line because it was draining very slowly and backing up through the floor drain.  We have used them several times over the years with no problems. This time however, before the technician even attempted to clear the line, he told us he needed to have his supervisor come out.  The supervisor KayGee said he needed to run a scope through the line, but he was unable to get through. (now remember they hadn't cleared the clog so of course he couldn't get the camera through the line). Furthermore, he told us they needed to replace a 6 ft section of the sewer line at a cost of $8200+ and that he could have an emergency crew at our home the following morning or Monday at the latest. He also said they wouldn't even attempt a clean out because it could cause more damage. VERY HIGH PRESSURE to try to get us to agree to the repair. We told him no, we needed to get a second opinion from another plumber.  We called Garvin's Sewers Service & scheduled an appointment for Monday 05/01/2023.   Saturday the slow drain went to no drain so I decided I couldn't wait for Monday.  I ended up renting a sewer auger and my wife and I cleared the line.   We kept the Monday appointment with Nick from Garvin's. He scoped the line and said it was clear except for a few small hanging roots.   When we asked if he should run another auger through, he said he could, but it would just be a waste of our money. Nick at Garvin's was great and we will have him out again for preventative cleaning. Nick sent us the video of the scoping, which we forwarded to my brother, a home inspector out of state, & he agreed-there was no brake in sewer line needing replacement. read more

Plumbline charged me $93 to fix a toilet that wasn't flushing properly, but two flushes after the technician left the toilet wouldn't flush. When I called them, they told me if they came out again they would charge me another $93, even though they didn't fix the problem the first time. I've been told that some plumbing companies operate this way to make quick and easy money on service calls, and Plumbline appears to be one of them. I definitely would not recommend them. If you can't find someone who stands by their work and you call Plumbline, you're taking your chances. read more

No bueno. So Denver Water sent their jack-booted minion to serve a nasty gram to me saying saying I have to replace the sewer line in the middle of the street. It's a horrible visit that nobody wants since this notice from the city could be a $5-15k hit to the old billfold. Water minion says to get 5 bids, I oblige. Plumbline services seems uber professional. They answer their phone and send someone out quickly to give a bid. I thought this is going to be binary: 0. They are just super awesome and that's how they roll. 1. They are an awesome sales and marketing co. and try to sell VERY EXPENSIVE services with flash and bang, shock/awe... I'm sorry to say that this co is the latter and not the former. Their bid was 3x more than the company we went with. I understand being more expensive but 3x? The person that came out spent an hour inside the house and was hard selling, wow, this is really bad. Really bad. You'd better replace the entire line! None of the other contractors needed to come inside the house and none of them hard sold. No bueno. If you need major work done do your homework people! Get multiple bids. I think I can hear angels singing! Can it be true? Have I truly found a competent plumber who was clean, professional, didn't charge me an arm and a leg, AND vacuumed the rug? After so many bad plumbing experiences, I can hardly believe it. After a botched job by Roto-Rooter, Plumbline sent Glenn out for an estimate. Not only was it the best estimate that we got, but he did a great wonderful fantastic job just a few days later . Seriously, I can't give these folks enough stars. Quite the polarized reviews as far as I can see with this company. Before I say anything else the customer service rep was amazing, I actually used him as an example for the support staff in our own office. having said that our personal overall experience was bad, it wasn't the worst experience we have ever had with a contractor but it was still pretty bad, I have included a play by play of events, these are not exaggerated. I gave the two stars for the customer service rep: 1. First day of service the service tech was late due to leaving his tools at his previous job. 2. On the first day he basically walked in and said there was nothing he could do, charged me $42.95 for that bit of information. 3. After first guy couldn't do anything 2 other guys show up and can't agree as to what the problem is and spend at least an hour talking about it. 4. None of the service guys knows if it is covered by Denver Water. With all their "years of experience" you would think they would know. 5. 2nd set of guys sets an appointment (7pm - 9pm) for the line to be shocked to see if it is just frozen. 6. Frozen pipe tech doesn't show up and I finally call at almost 9pm to hear that he wasn't going to make it out and nobody bothered to call and let me know so they reschedule for Sat. morning. 7. Frozen pipe guy makes it out, but while he is waiting for the shocking to do it's thing, casual conversations with the neighbor are had. 8. Frozen pipe guy reports back that "he had a conversation with a Denver Water Board member who said it was their responsibility." Not true, just a "backyard" conversation with a neighbor. 9. This results in a delay of further work being done and crazy phone calls back and forth with Denver Water and Plumbline. 10. When everyone finally figures out who is to do the digging, they couldn't get the street cutting guy out until Thursday to do the work instead of Wed. Another day of the tenant not having water. 11. Finally they get to dig and whoever they had mark the gas and water lines didn't mark the storm drain (big $%^&$&& concrete pipe under the street). Takes them 2-3 hours longer to finish the job. 12. Finally finish the job at around 6:30pm and expect 100% of payment on the spot. Kind of hard to have a bank cut a check after 5pm. 13. Tech says "no problem" I will take down the credit card number for $2500 of the $10483 and have the supervisor contact me in the morning before running any charges through. 14. Fri. morning I get a call from the supervisor who states they ran two separate charges ($2500 and $7983) on the credit card. 15. I asked why the phone call to clarify the charges was not made before running the card and get "well these are supposed to be paid COD" with attitude and he really has no idea what is going on, but wants to be paid "right now". read more
