Bob from Plumbwell was wonderful! I woke up at 4am to a leaking water heater- a geyser it seemed. I didn't even know how to turn off my water main. I tried duck taping up the pipe where the water was leaking from. I surrounded it with towels, but nothing could be done till Bob came to the rescue. I called 10 plumbing companies. I left messages at all of them (24 hours they claimed... nope!) I was on the phone with the 11th when Bob called me back and said he could arrive within the hour! He did an amazing job and replaced these leaky bendable type pipes that have been there since I bought my condo with copper ones. He soldered like a champ. He didn't just replace the one that was leaking, he did the other one too. Also- he was very circumspect. Wore a mask (we are living during the Covid 19 era) and I felt safe at the distance and precautions he took. A+ work My home is saved! Bob even recommended I use a fan to help dry up the floor, which I probably wouldn't have thought of. We had a leak in our bathroom sink. Plumbwell sent their plumber and he made it out like our whole sink was broken. Plumbwell gave us an estimate for $1200 for the repair. This was astronomically high in our opinion. We got another plumber to look at it and he fixed the leak within 30 minutes and it only cost us $350. HUGE price difference! Companies like Plumbwell seem to be in the business of up selling and price gouging. Needless to say, we will not be calling them ever again. The only positive thing about this company would be the secretaries who answer the phones. Quite lovely people. read more

"Funny" story. Discovered a pinhole in a line coming out of the dirt in a wall behind the tub. Asked a friend for a recommendation. After giving me the name and reading some great reviews on Yelp I called. Was told that Bob, the owner would be there (on a Saturday) in 2 hours. Bob and his son arrived right on time, saw the problem, gave me a price and got to work. This was not an easy fix as the leak was in a bent pipe very near the ground with very little access. They worked on it for over 3 hours and finally fixed it. Bob couldn't have been nicer, courteous, and neater. He also stuck to his original estimate even though the repair took much longer than he thought. The funny part. When I went to pay him I started to write the check to the business I had looked up in Yelp and it turned out that I clicked on a link to Plumbwell Services by accident. After a cesspool company discovered a leak in my main house trap, I contacted Plumbwell for a replacement. I was asked to text pictures of the trap and work area to Andrew, and I had an estimate by the end of the day. The team arrived the next day and replaced the trap. Although the work went well, the original trap was severely decayed and the team (Jack and Walter) found additional decay and holes in the adjacent fittings. They patched the holes as best they could and decided they needed to plan how to repair the additional drain pipes without causing unnecessary damage to the house. I scheduled time to meet with the owner, Bob, to talk about our options. After deciding on a plan, Plumbwell was patient as I ordered new materials and coordinated with my contractor for the extensive pre and post work. We scheduled a date to do the repairs, and the team returned as planned. They worked tirelessly over two days to replace the pipes and ensure I'd have minimal time without water. They did their best to protect the other areas of the house, and they did excellent work. They also spent a significant amount of time cleaning up both inside and outside the house. Get estimates in writing or record phone conversations. We were given a quote for $275 to fix our squeaking noise on our shower. The owner (father) and my wife agreed that if other parts were needed it would be extra. We agreed! An employee came over and without even looking at what exactly was wrong called the owner's son and they wanted to charge us over $1000. We went back and forth with the son and prices kept changing $700, $500. Don't deal with the son. He wants to rip you off. They didn't even look to see if it was a simple fix or a complex one. Deal with companies that will honor their estimates. Make sure you have the estimate in writing. Pass on Plumbwell there are other more reputable companies to hire. What a waste of time. read more

We had an issue with a hot water heater. Bob, the owner answered the call and sent a crew over within a few hours. The crew which included Andrew was extremely professional, courteous and immaculate. They made sure to take extra care of our home with brand new drop cloths, booties on their feet, wrapping our existing burner prior to removing it from the home. They installed the new heater quickly and explained how to use it/their warranty, etc. They addressed all of our concerns. The office is prompt, and the plumbers are good, but being asked to pay 25% more on the day of your appointment isn't a good feeling. To clarify, the scope of my work did not change from my initial phone quote, and of course my account of the initial conversation conflicts with the office staff's recollection. I recently had a leak in a pipe in a wall and was faced with choosing a plumber in an emergency situation. I was in need of the cast iron "trap" assembly in my unfinished basement. It's Been epoxy patched over the decades and a new leak developed in a hard to reach section of cast iron pipe , under a support beam. It was time to change it all, and finally do the job right ! I have used a home repair "app" on my phone on my last few home projects with pretty good results. This time the App hooked me up with cesspool companies. Then I saw a ad for Plumbwell in a local town newspaper. I got a very competitive price with two different options that would that would effectively correct the job in a professional and proper manor. The owner Rob, also noticed the old Cast Iron assembly was back pitched ( tilted away from the waste water's natural flow, Meaning there's always waste water just sitting in the pipe. Not flowing out. A Long story short: very fair price. 2 workers, worked about 5 hours. The Guys were amazing ! Super clean job replaced with pvc. I don't know too much about plumbing, but noticed their equipment seemed to be modern and new. I'm very happy. It's nice to see some new competition in Northern Nassau! I always had a dad you would do almost every home improvement situation for me as well as other various family members. Done right perfection doesnt even do it justice. Anytime I had to hire outside help it was always a disaster -crooks-liars and my dad always had to redo everything I spent a lot of money on. Dad has since passed away and now I find myself in a situation where I have to find respectable honest businesses and it's not easy in this day and age. 2 years ago I found my 7 year old tankless hot water heater leaking and it was under a 10 year warranty and the company would not supply me with the very expensive part that was under warranty "the coil" the hot water heater co would only allow a licensed plumber the have the part which would cost me a lot of money to have some do it for me when my brother could do it for me for free. I stumbled open this plumbing service by a distant referral and allowed this business to bid on a difficult gas line installation project, along with other businesses. From the moment Bob came to give me the estimate - I KNEW I would hire him. And am I ever so glad I did. He and his crew are the most polite, professional and CLEAN workers I have ever dealt with. These guys are the real deal - prompt, reliable, clean. well-equipped, skillful and hard-working. In a past life I used to build homes for a living and I have dealt with my share of plumbers - often, these were not such good experiences. I only wish I had met Robert and his crews a long time ago, because he runs a company that knows what quality plumbing work should be. My job (2 large bathrooms...) was fairly complicated and involved moving plumbing around and dealing with many precise and challenging dimensions, not to mention the finish work which was equally unusual. Robert's crews never let a challenge deter them and were so upbeat in their attitudes and their approach to everything that my pain-in-the-neck job had presented them. They would leave the job each day making sure everything was neat & clean and would show up on time (rare in this world today) ready to get to work, pumped and got right to it. Bob and his team just finished doing an oil to gas water heater installation in my home in Massapequa. I cannot praise them enough. Extremely polite, knowledgeable, and professional. I had a seen their ad in Newsday and made an appointment for Bob to give us an estimate. To my surprise, on the morning the estimate was scheduled I received a call from his office letting me know that he may be a few minutes late.
