It was the perfect overcast Encinitas day, perfect for a warm bowl of soupie like goodness. Overcast, but warm made outdoor seating perfect. Friendly staff service was great. I had the panang curry with a side of white rice and spring rolls. Peanut sauce was a hit and went perfectly with the spring rolls. My panang curry was absolutely delicious. They didn't ask for my heat level, but it was done perfectly. Im not a vegetarian but I loved it.

Plumeria on 101 was amazing! I recently tried the Plumeria in University Heights, so I was excited to try the one here in Encinitas. Needless to say, this one was just as great. Food: I ordered the Panang curry with boiled tofu, and it was so flavorful, warm, and comforting. It was a bit too spicy for me (I should have asked for an adjustment), but I definitely recommend. My friend and I shared the spring rolls (the peanut sauce was warm and very flavorful) and the mango sticky rice (one of the best I have - sweet and salty, creamy). Service/Ambiance: My friend and I went when it was a little less busy and it was raining outside, so we were able to sit inside! Service was great - very kind, attentive staff. And the inside of this place has very cool decor - great ambiance! Vegan: Overall, this was a great place for vegans/vegetarians and meat eaters alike. They had mock meats for meat eaters and those who are curious to try, but also had options for extra veggies, tofu, and chickpeas/beans. Will definitely bring my vegan/vegetarian friends here. Excited to come back and try different dishes!

I really liked the restaurant and the food here. Service was nice and we (party of 7) all got our food quickly. Food was delicious and everyone really liked what they ordered. Portion size is great and is ideal for family style dining. We got the appetizer sampler (not pictured) and all of it was pretty good - especially the Satay Chicken). Pad See Ew with the vegetarian duck and the tom yum was delicious. Drinks were also really good - Got the Thai Tea with Coconut Milk and Boba. Especially liked the fried bananas and coconut ice cream, that was super good. Overall rating: Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Menu: 10/10 Restaurant Vibes: 10/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 10/10

I have always wanted to try Plumeria as it is thai food AND added bonus is seeing their recipes as vegan! Sometimes certain restaurants add more "fishy" flavors and Im a bit more sensitive/picky with flavors but this restaurant kept the traditional flavors/taste and I definitely prefer Plumeria's flavors better :3 I got papaya salad to share with a friend and we both got the spicy noodles. The papaya salad is amazing - well coated with the lime juice and spices. We ate the whole thing. The spicy noodles was really good! It reminded me of pad see ew and I do love wide rice noodles. We sat outside at their patio so it can be noisy due to the traffic of cars but it was a nice sunny day. The server was super nice and attentive. I cant wait to come back and try more items!

we had a great experience dining here for dinner! parking is a bit difficult as it is in a busy area, but there is a parking lot with free 1 hour parking two blocks down. they open at 4:30 for dinner, and that's around when we came, it got pretty busy later on so i would recommend coming early! we started with the fresh spring rolls, which were delicious! they were crunchy and paired well with the peanut sauce. i always order spicy noodles, so i had to try them out here. we got a medium (spice level 3) and it had a nice kick to it, so i would be careful if you're someone who doesn't eat spicy food. the fried tofu was done well, and the noodles and veggies were about what i would expect. the highlight of the meal was the pumpkin red curry! i am not usually a big pumpkin fan, but it was a nice variation to your typical thai curries and was so flavorful! the tangerine chicken was also delicious, it had a nice balance between sweet and citrusy, and so crispy!! service slowed down a bit as it started to get busy, but they were very friendly. i will definitely be back!

Great food, cool balcony -- but absolutely terrible service. Plumeria has amazing food and a really chill, beautiful balcony setup, it's such a shame the service completely ruins the experience. The staff are not friendly or attentive, and everything comes out painfully late. You can tell they're trying to cut corners by running the whole place with about two and a half servers, which just doesn't work when it's busy. If they fixed their service and hired enough staff, this place could easily be a 5-star spot. But as it stands, the vibe and food don't make up for how frustrating it is to actually dine here.

One of my top favorite vegan thai restaurants in San Diego! The staff is amazing and extremely kind. Some of my favorite dishes are their spicy basil fried rice (a must get!!) , panang curry, yellow curry, spicy noodles, and their tom kah soup. Also, their vegetarian/vegan proteins are some of the best I've tried!

We got fresh spring rolls which were ok. The spicy noodles with mock duck and the pad see iw with mock duck were both delicious. Plumerias mock duck is the best. To be honest I like the location on park more for some reason. Maybe it's just nostalgia since that's our normal location. Parking is rough at either location.

Location is right in the heart of downtown Encinitas. Friendly staff work here. Casual and simple dining indoors or outdoor seating. I went with the pumpkin curry with steamed tofu and brown rice that came shaped like a heart. Ample portions. It came medium heat by default and had a good amount of heat yet not overbearing. I added a touch of the made in house chili oil yet proceed with caution as a little goes a long way since this packs some serious heat. Flavorful curry with plenty of veggies. I really enjoyed my meal here and recommend coming here!

So good! Drove by this place on a Saturday about a month and a half ago when I bought my car from BMW Encinitas wanting to have lunch here, but parking was extremely difficult that day. After circling around a few times, we decided we'd come back another time. Ended up escaping the desert heat for a day yesterday and made it a point to come here! Definitely a great choice for vegetarians/vegans! I got their fried rice with vegan chicken, which was super flavorful. My boyfriend got their panang curry with vegan chicken and also really enjoyed his dish. As far as prices go, I'd say that it's pretty on par with most of the PS Thai restaurants (not cheap, but reasonable). There was some outdoor seating which was nice but since we were visiting family we just did take-out. It would be so nice to come back and take advantage of the outdoor seating as we haven't had anything near a proper date night since the start of COVID (it's just way too hot to be sitting out in Palm Springs no matter what time of day)! Will be back soon to enjoy delicious food and much better summer weather :) read more

The best new Vegan Thai place in San Diego! Incredible Service, Quick Food, substantial service and an Abundance of Vegan options!!!!! The owner herself took great care to make sure all of her customers were satisfied! The spice level on our Pad Si Ew noodles was quite high but the server quickly addressed the issue by making us a new dish with less spice. So generous and quick! We will definitely be returning to this amazing eatery in the Heart of Encinitas read more

Plumaria is a delicious vegetarian restaurant in Encinitas. I highly recommend this location for vegan and vegetarian's. The food is great and can be made very spicy. The only reason I did not give this restaurant five stars is because of the service. I recently dined and they did have outdoor seating but I felt that they were overworked and we were only attended to twice and we had to ask to have our water refilled several times and ask multiple times for additional napkins. read more

The best food in encinitas. Usually Thai food is in the "middle" category for my go-to. However, we randomly walked in here when visiting and it was the best decision ever. Spring rolls - crisp, flavorful, healthy & the sauce - absolutely epic. The main course wasn't heavy with toxic oils and instead was steamed. You also have the option to sub coconut oil for certain plates that use oil. Didn't feel weighed down after eating. We left NOURISHED, full and happy. 10/10 recommend! read more

This is a great spot for vegetarian Thai. The food was delicious, the lychee tea amazing. Service was fast and friendly, but it did take a little time to receive our food. We tried the spicy noodles and the larb salad. Spicy levels are 1 - 10, I ordered a 5, but easily could have ordered an 8 to give it a good spice. I would definitely eat here again! read more

I really can't get enough of the old school pad thai here. Even as takeout during the pandemic, it's delicious. Their spring rolls are really good too. My husband hates cilantro, so you can order them without that if you hate it too. The staff is so nice and thoughtful, both when the restaurant was open and when they are just offering curbside. The location is small, so when the world opens back up, I recommend a reservation. For now, they are really quick. I've always gotten my food within 30 minutes of ordering. read more

Where does one start with the vegetarian perfection of this spot? Well let me tell you we had a few dishes for take out and none of them disappointed. The pad Thai with duck was perfectly done. The eggplant with friend chicken was so tasty an excellent blend of veggies. The tofu Larb was so lemony and refreshing and the yellow curry with soft tofu absorbed all the flavors of the spices SO GOOD! I ordered it a level 7 spicy and would probably order a 5 next time as it was pretty spicy and I am Mexican! It was our favorite meal from our weeklong stay in The area. We're from LA and wishing we could find a good spot like this. read more

This place is next level GREAT! It's Authentics flavors with a vegetarian twist. The appetizer sampler was so good...the satay really stood out. We also got the spicy noodles. It was fantastic but the spice kicked our butts (in a good way). We also got the Panang curry which was dope. I started this timer about 3-5 minutes after arriving. I ordered through the DoorDash app. My order was confirmed by the restaurant at 6:33 PM. I was instructed to pick up between 6:41-6:51 PM. I just received my order at 7:27 PM. Their time management is very poor. Some people sitting here without food when I arrived are are still without food as I'm leaving. I will update on how food is. Mmmmm, vegan Thai food! So many actual vegetables and options aside from plain ol tofu! Ordered pickup on a weeknight. Got the cashew nut with the vegetarian duck and pumpkin curry with fried tofu. Shared both between 2 people. They were both sooooo good but if I were forced to pick I'd say pumpkin curry was my fave. My friend who orders from here often also said it's a staple in his order. Although I would say vegetarian duck is a must try as well! Great takeout would def get again. read more

This was fantastic Thai food. Loved the panang curry with mock duck. Great flavor in the curry. The Thai tea was also great. We ended up going back the next night for some gluten free lava cake and gluten free cheesecake which were both really good as well. read more

Really disappointing - I ordered the Thai salad and it was basically a garden salad with a meager amount of shredded carrot and cherry tomatoes with a side of peanut sauce. Nobody asked me how everything was otherwise I would have questioned my order - surely something was missing? Food came out at different times leading to a less than ideal dining experience. Plumeria has some of the best Vegetarian Thai food, I love the University Heights location and we always have great food, great service, etc. The Encinitas Plumeria has the same great food but right now (I'll blame covid) the service isn't as great. Limited outdoor seating (no indoor), no cups for water, etc. They also don't have the full menu that the other location has so be aware of that before you stop by. read more

Food is just as good as the original shop in normal heights/north park. Spicy noodle was delicious and chicken was flavorful. Spring rolls were not oily-they were crisp and flavorful and tender on the inside. Tom kha soup tasted a bit sour compared to other tom kha soups we had at other thai restaurants. We ordered the flower cups but for some reason we didnt get it. It is ok. We recommend the flower cups if you go here. They only do to go or delivery. No dine in yet as of june 2020. read more

Tasty vegetarian Thai along a busy 101 through Encinitas. Great food served by efficient, friendly staff in a nice environment. We had to move to a different table before the food was served. A guy who sat down next to us started playing very loud music on his phone. But when his blind date showed up absolutely reeking of an extremely liberal dosage of perfume, we couldn't take it anymore. Even on the other side of the restaurant we were still subjected to an olfactory assault. But the staff took our movement in good humor and promised that our dinner would be delivered to the correct table! The food was amazingly flavorful. The wife usually gets the sauteed eggplant. I oscillate between the pad see iw and the spicy noodle. This in addition to splitting a serving of the crispy tofu. We've yet to have a less than spectacular meal here. read more

Awesome selections , I love their appetizer platter (fresh spring roll, curry cups, satay on skewers and fried tofu). We also ordered the pumpkin curry which is delicious and rich in flavors, and spicy crispy mock duck salad ( labb ) is so unique and well presented. They serve brown rice in a heart shape and that's such a great eyes food for us. Overall : very impressed! read more

First of all let me say our family loves this place. We have everything from gluten free Vegans and Carnivores and they have so many choices that everyone is happy. It is vegetarian, but dishes like their Tangerine "Chicken" satisfy even the meat eaters. I'm deducting a star because their recent price increase was a shock. Their website shows the old prices so beware. The menu attached to this Yelp posting shows the current pricing. Some things increased nearly 25%. Portions are normal sized so I was surprised. read more

I stumbled upon this gem, and wow what a find! I love Thai food, and I'm gluten-free and dairy-free. So what a great restaurant! I had no problem navigating the menu and finding food that would work well for me. My server was also very helpful and knowledgeable about ingredients. The food was SO good! So was my Thai iced tea! It was great Thai food, no matter if you have dietary needs/preferences or not. I will definitely be back! read more

They are a wonderful family owned operation. They are open for take-out only right now. They were super clear, quick and still tasty. Lots of hand sanitizer. I would recommend them especially now. We love the pumpkin curry and pad Thai. We also picked up some crispy spring rolls, Tom Yum soup, spicy noodle andPenang curry. Flower cups are our favorite but did not get them this time. Call head for quick service. read more

Having had authentic Pad Thai in Thailand, I found this version noticeably different, as traditional Pad Thai is typically not that sticky. I was also surprised to see BBQ ribs on the menu at a Thai restaurant. They were decent, though--tender enough to fall off the bone and flavorful enough to enjoy. The highlight of the meal was definitely the stuffed angel wings. They tasted freshly made and were well-seasoned. We also ordered egg rolls, but for $10, I felt the portion size, quantity, and overall quality did not offer great value. Service was good, and our server was attentive throughout the meal. As for the ambiance, I'd suggest avoiding Friday nights if you're looking for a relaxed dining experience. There was a live band playing, and the music was so loud that we could barely hear each other talk. It's probably not the best setting for a date night or a dinner where conversation is part of the experience.

As noted by its name, this place served a fusion of Chinese and Korean cuisines. Their Encinitas location took over what used to be a roadside diner along N Coast Hwy 101. The seating capacity was less than 40 people which included a few high-top counter spots. At my last visit, I came for a late dinner before their closing time. A large menu was posted on the wall behind the service counter that listed about two dozen food offerings. The items seemed to be comfort food like pot stickers, spring rolls, fried rice, and chicken wings but flavored with unique combinations of seasonings and spices. I started my meal with the Marinated Beef Tri-Tip Skewers which came as a set of three and a Chinese mustard for dipping. The meat was very tender and well-seasoned. I also ordered the Cumin Lamb Stir Fry which the cashier said was medium spicy. After tasting a couple of bites of the noodles from the serving bowl, I agreed that the heat level was moderate, even for my palate. I thought the portion size should have been more for the price. That was my main criticism for both items, otherwise the food was solid for an Asian fusion eatery.

Bill was around $90 for $60 worth of food. I do think this was an exception and will give them another chance. Just make sure you look closely at your bill for extras you didn't order.

My wife and I have been searching North County for years for same, to no avail - so we readily accepted. We arrived a few minutes before 1pm - and our first thought was - what a strange location. About a block off of Carlsbad Village Drive, but nothing else really around to drive foot traffic. Our second thought was - ok, where's the entrance? We did a complete loop before finding it, and headed upstairs to the restaurant. And our third thought was - where IS everyone? Total ghost town - and to be honest, at that point, I was pretty sure that this was yet another poor attempt at an authentic Thai restaurant. And - I was wrong. Our friends arrived shortly, and we sat down and perused the menu - even though we all kinda knew what we wanted, we wanted to see what else was out there - and good thing we did, as my wife changed her mind and went with Pumpkin Curry. I, being a total creature of habit, went with Yellow Chicken Curry with no onion - and an appetizer of Chicken Satay. Our friends ordered also, starting with Drunken noodles, another Yellow Curry (with tofu), and Rad Na (pork version). Let me interrupt this with a quick aside - the waitress was absolutely wonderful during the order process. For each entree, she specifically asked the spice level (1-10), and delivered somewhat accordingly. The food started arriving shortly thereafter - and there was a LOT of food arriving! The only nit I had was that, in my demented brain, appetizers show up before the main course. In this case, everything arrived together. That said, the main courses were incredible (and again, HUGE). While I would submit that while I asked for a spice level of 10, I got more of a 4 or 5, but when Thais see blonde hair blued eyed white guys, they tend to assume (usually correctly) that they have no idea what they're asking for. In my case, they were wrong. No biggie, I'm used to it, and next time, will definitely up the ante on the spice issue. My wife LOVED her Pumpkin Curry, and our friends enjoyed their meals as well. They pretty much finished off the Drunken Noodles, so clearly that was a hit. The only other nit that I ran into was the Chicken Satay. These things were HUGE - so much so that I could cut them in half along the length, and make a huge chicken sandwich. I've never seen it done this way - but my wife and I split one and took the rest home - that's how huge they were. The peanut sauce was amazing, as was the Thai Cucumber Salad (actually one of the better ones I've had - in California OR Thailand - it was that good). Bottom line, a worthy discovery, AND they use Door Dash - so we'll be eating Aroi Thai - Carlsbad quite a bit going forward - actually real Thai in North County....outstanding!!!

There was only 1 host who was also the waiter and server who took care of 3-4 tables at the same time including mine. She did a good job at juggling all tables and came by often enough. Now with the food wait times it seemed like there was only 1 person in the kitchen as well since it took quite awhile for all the foods to come out. It took about 30 minutes after ordering since all 3 tables ordered at the same time. *Beef Boat Noodles - these were just okay. You have the option of choosing veggies/tofu, chicken, or beef. The beef didn't come with all the things I'm used to in boat noodles such as tripe, tendon, different cuts of braised beef, water spinach, or Chinese broccoli. It didn't even seem like blood was added either. It only came with 2 meatballs and beef slices that weren't tender and could have been cut smaller too. They need to add more different cuts of meats and other things to it. It tasted like Pho Lao. *Crying Tiger Salad - was okay as well. The flavoring was there but it wasn't tossed correctly since the toasted rice powder stayed on top of the meat. Also the meat was too overcooked so it was chewy and it also could've been cut smaller. They were thick big chewy pieces. *Thum Lao Style - not bad! I was expecting it to still be more on the bland Thai style but it was actually pretty good and sour the way I like it. It was still light in color meaning they didn't add crab paste for the dark coloring or shrimp paste. They did add pickled crabs though and it was pretty good and spicy. I also like how they "fauk"/chopped the papaya too instead of shredding so good job on that! *Khao Pad Naem - this was my mom's so I didn't try it. She said it was a bit salty but I'm assuming because of the protein she got which was the sour fermented pork which is the naem. It looked good though with the way they fried the egg.
