Tom Yum Soup was creamy and delicious.
    Craig W.

There is a weird psychological phenomenon where the closer you are to something interesting, the less likely you are to visit it. There are people who probably live five miles from the Grand Canyon who have never seen it and probably think they will get around to seeing it one of these days. And then they die or move and never see it. I realize it is just a bit of a minor stretch to compare a Thai restaurant with the Grand Canyon but here we are. I have driven by this restaurant, sometimes multiple times a day, probably a thousand times in my life. I have heard many good things. I have just never visited until now. It is beautiful inside. The decor is gorgeous. The lighting is excellent. There is live music (in fact, very good live music during our visit). They have an insane happy hour, every day, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., I believe. There is a happening bar scene, if that is your thing. The food is solid. We tried the Tom Yum soup with chicken added (th soup was very coconut-y and creamy), the Pad Thai with shrimp (delicious), and the red curry with shrimp (also, delicious). The portion sizes were generous. The Thai iced coffee was very nice. My martini was fine. The chicken in the soup was not, in my opinion, of the highest of highest quality. And the martini, which was very normal sized (and I am talking about martinis, not anything else), was a very painful and un-normal-sized $19. That hurt a little bit. Service was friendly and homey and wonderful. Our water glasses were constantly re-filled and we were constantly checked up on. This is a delightful, lively restaurant and it has a lot to offer (decor, music, food, service, atmosphere). I am ashamed it has taken be far too long to visit. And, for what it is worth, I have visited the Grand Canyon, even though I live nowhere near it, and it is also wonderful. Also, unlike at Thai One On, there is no Thai food available at the Grand Canyon, so keep that in mind.

TomKah with shrimp is the way to go Hot and perfect for this overcast and Raining California kind of day. I tried all the appetizers so you don't have to. Golden flowers and half moon ton Yes- they're all winners Lisa-staff did a great job explaining I love the live music. Gentleman is a great singer. He has a variety of tunes on guitar and piano. Fun place to try

Seriously this is a hidden gem!! As you walk through the door, you are always greeted with a smile. We prefer to sit at the bar to enjoy a padres game. The bartenders always go above and beyond to chat with you and get you served promptly. The food portions are very shareable and DELICIOUS!!! There is live music nightly, that is always fun to sing along with. Do yourself a huge favor, check them out! You will not be disappointed.

Also had the gambas (shrimp) and my feeling is this dish tastes the same no matter where you get it. It's spicy oil but there's no flavor (garlic, salt), just spicy oil lightly flavored by the shrimp but nothing special, imho, that you couldn't make at home or get anywhere else. Also had the migas y setas (mushroom with egg), it was good but the mushrooms themselves needed salt. The bread crumb bits had salt but it wasn't enough. Mushrooms, eggs and pita toes are three foods that need salt, period. I would definitely eat here again, the food was good, service was good, the vibe and ambiance was good. Great for a date night or just dinner with friends. Not really recommended for people with little kids (although they don't discriminate, it's just not that kind of place).

Think of going to your friend's home who has great taste in décor, with a twist of flair. The warm amber lighting really sets a comfortable tone. For dinner, we ordered the following: Sashimi Mediterráneo: Melt in your mouth delicious. Chicken Paillard: Perfectly lemony and beautifully roasted. The salad was fresh and paired really well with the chicken. I loved the blistered capers. They went great with both the sashimi and the chicken. Dessert: Basque Cake: A soft, multi textured, biscuity French Spanish cake with vanilla pastry cream and sweet cherries. The pastry cream is baked in perfectly. It has an almost creamy cheesecake like texture, and paired with the vanilla ice cream, it was amazing. My girlfriend and I just wished there was a little more ice cream. It would have balanced the dessert even better. I'm definitely coming here again and again! I want to try their Patatas Bravas, Paella & Kabocha Soup, but I also want to get what I've ordered. What a predicament.

Make sure to ask for butter to dip your crawfish in. I like to marinate mine. I'll squeeze lemons in my salt and pepper cup, dip my crawfish in the lemon mix, butter, and marinate it in my bag with the sauce. I've also tried the micheladas here and they are pretty good too! IT'S NOT THE COOL PLACE IT USED TO BE I gave up a few months ago ordering the whole broiled artichoke which used to be amazing but now is always small, tough and burned. The sand dabs I ordered last night were mushy, greasy and tasteless. The Parmesan 'crust' was soggy. I had to ask the bartender 4 times for lemons (none came with the dish) because she would only give me 3 tiny slices at a time - perhaps they are being rationed due to Strait of Hormuz related supply chain issues? It's possible the complimentary sourdough bread is being rationed as well. In the oyster bar area there are tv screens literally everywhere so the vibe is more sports bar-like than the vibe of a quality oyster bar.
