I really wish they wouldn't only let you keep store credit for a year -- as plus size people, it's hard to find things that fit our bodies, so expecting people to be able to find something in store that fits them within this time frame feels unrealistic and limiting. Despite coming here 4-5 times, I've only once found one clothing item. I also think changing this policy would help their inventory! I have so many trendy/desirable items that I'd love to sell to them, but because of the time limit, I end up selling to Buffalo Exchange instead since their store credit doesn't expire. read more

I love the dressing rooms, very spacious and even had a personal fan! Not only are there clothes, There are a ton of accessories to choose from and a limited amount of shoes options. The staff, led by Alexis, is always helpful, never judgmental, and nothing short of cheerleaders. I have always felt accepted and cute while at the shop. The staff are some of the most fashionable and lovely people as well ! My only downside is the prices. For second hand clothing it's a bit pricey. Stopped in today after work to see if I could pick up a dress for a party I have this Thursday. I'm a size 28/30, and I was hoping to find something last minute in person, instead of the normal online shopping experience us larger women are subject to. The staff were very pleasant and super helpful. The space was cute, very fun layout, but I'm extremely disappointed. There was a very small portion of anything bigger than a 26/28. Everything was dominantly 16/18 to 26/28. The items 4X and above were dominantly glamor-sized. I tried two dresses, one fit, but it was a terrible cut for me personally. However for a store that claims to sell up to 6x, that's a very bloated statement, as there were maybe only 15 items in the whole store over a 4X. All of the mainstream plus size stores already only keep under size 28, in the limited physical locations left. I was hoping that this store would give me some hope. If you are not a midsize woman, shop elsewhere, probably online like the rest of us. I just wish stores, that are dedicated to our community, that already has such limitations for clothing, find someplace to call home in the city. A size 14/16 can shop in almost any store they come across... a size 28 and up cannot. I expect more from shops like this. read more

To call plus bklyn my favorite plus size store is almost doing it a disservice. Alexis and her amazing gorgeous team work so hard to throw events and have truly made it a community center. Where else can you go and mingle with amazing fat babes, and come home with gorgeous pieces to add to your collection? Alexis works tirelessly picking through vintage stores so you don't have to, and the vintage section is absolutely amazing. You can tell the store is run with so much love and such good ethics. This is one of the only places I can go and actually have options to explore in my size, a rarity in almost every other store in the city. As a trans woman who's only been out for a year or so, it's incredibly difficult to figure out my style and the clothes that bring me joy when I don't have a variety that fit me, let alone a supportive staff to cheer me on through my gender journey - Plus BKLYN has that and then some! I love this store. I used to shop at its old location and I was more than happy to follow it to its new one. This is literally the only place I can find clothes that not just fit me, but are stylish and look GOOD on me. There's nothing worse than having to settle for whatever fits me in a mainstream non-plus size clothing store. This isn't the case at Plus BKLYN, a place that caters to plus size bodies. There are always great sales racks at Plus BKLYN and there's a big vintage section. The owner is always super friendly and helpful. Non-plus size women constantly ask me where I got the clothes I'm wearing from Plus BKLYN and I'm not going to lie, I take a little pleasure from saying "I don't know if they make this in your size. After having moved to NYC from Texas, I was looking into local plus-sized shops and came across this boutique. I made the hour trek via car from Harlem to Brooklyn yesterday to see what all fuss was about. This shop is located in an area of Brooklyn called Williamsburg, which reminded me of Austin, TX, but less pretentious. So if you go shopping here there is a lot of good stuff to do in area. Upon entering, the lady in the shop greeted me with such warmth and authenticity. The shop itself is a gorgeous little boutique with a hot pink Harlot-like (the show) chair in the back, which my toddler rather enjoyed. Overall I was extremely satisfied with the selection and customer service that I received and I will be coming back soon! It's great to know that there are shops like this in NYC! read more

I went here today and I almost wanted to cry because the selection was so amazing. I recently was officially diagnosed with pcos but before that I was so confused within roughly 2 years I added on 80+ pounds out of nowhere going from a medium now now an xl-1xl. One of my biggest passions in life was thrifting, I used to find gems everywhere left and right. After the weight gain my biggest joy became one of my biggest triggers. The experience that the staff at Plus BKLYN provides is unparalleled. I moved to NYC recently, and was surprised when their new location moved very close to my new place-- so I /had/ to stop by! Each time I go in, the staff member who is working is very kind, friendly and eager to explain how the shop is organized. They have a vintage section, a used section, and a new section. Most of the items are in season and fashionable, and affordable given the brands that they do stock. I've gone here a couple times to look for work clothes, and they always have some sort of sale going on, which is great! I'm very pleased that they have a brick and mortar for people to try on their clothes, and the aesthetic is also so beautiful! It's difficult to find fashionable plus size clothes in Brooklyn/ NYC that aren't for 90 year old women (how is that possible, it's a huge city). And It's impossible to find anything thrift, preowned, or vintage. Plus BKLN brings all of this. They sell a mix of new, preowned, and vintage COOL, FASHIONABLE plus size clothes that are all different styles and reasonably priced. The people here are super nice, they have tons of stuff (it goes fast!), and it's well located.
