Pluto's is the place I go to most often for breakfast on the weekend. Why? Simple - no waits! Most of the popular breakfast spots in downtown Victoria often have substantial line-ups to get inside, but with Pluto's you can usually walk right in and grab a booth. The food is decent - nothing spectacular, but it tastes good and it's usually brought to the table quickly. The wait staff are usually prompt and on the ball. The ambiance and decor are okay. Overall an okay experience - and no wait!

So nice to have this restaurant in the Quadra Village neighborhood! We like to come for brunch and there's no long lineups.

My wife and I went in and neither of us were impressed with the food, which was sub-par at best and over priced. Never again.

Loved the wrap but the hashbrowns weren't great. Also, the entrees are about $2 overpriced.

We got the pleasure of being served by Frankie himself! He brought coffee and was a joyful presence in the restaurant. I loved the spacious interior with the retro diner aesthetic. I loved how it opens at 7am and has a lot of breakfast options, and all are reasonably priced. I love the booths, the soda counter, the chalkboard message board with daily specials on it. I love the cheery and attentive server we had. And, lastly, I love the food here! (I was here for breakfast and my eggs and bacon were EXACTLY how I ordered them, and they also made me a fantastic iced vanilla latte, too). The restaurant and the bathrooms were super clean, too (bonus!). I checked out the extensive menu and realized, heck, I should have come here the day before for lunch. They have so many sandwiches and burgers available. Just wow. IMO this place would be perfect for breakfast or lunch, or a late night snack. (I think they're open until 9pm). If you like traditional diner fare, this is the place to be, for sure.

The first night my wife and I had scallops for appetizers and herb crusted Wild pacific salmon for the entrees. Their fish were cooked to perfection and the accompaniments were an enhancement as opposed to a dominating force. The second night I had escargot and my wife had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both loved our appetizers. The shepherds pie was good although I found the cheese on top of the mashed potatoes was neither necessary nor authentic, but it was still quite good. My wife had the duck confit which she liked very much. The ambiance is one of a country English cottage which felt cozy and warm and the servers were personable and solicitous without hovering. I'm guessing as good as most of the restaurants in town (Hastings House lies just outside the main strip).

Started out with lobster bisque (with a good amount of lobster) and a dozen snails (chef slipped a couple extra!) in a marvelous garlic butter and Parmesan sprinkled over all. Then for entree we enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Herb Crusted Wild Pacific Red Snapper With Creamy Parmesan Polenta, Basil Pesto. I enjoyed the Pan-Seared Nova Scotia Deep Sea Scallops on a fresh bed of lettuce mix and greens. So definitely a restaurant to try but you'll want to plan staying a night or two given they are on an island off the Vancouver island! Rooms are great also with some placed in cabins with views making you feel like you're in a tree house amongst the pines.

TLDR I recommend the lamb burger with potatoes…read more Tourist here. The patty was rather crumbly, which I wasn't sure if I liked, but it still had a ton of flavor, especially alongside the pickles and everything. Potatoes were outrageously good. They were JUST on the verge of burning, so they were smoky without being overwhelming. And DANG this place knows how to season! The salad was kinda eh, honestly. Dressing was pretty generic. If you're looking for flavor, get more potatoes instead of half/half. Got the zucchini brownie out of curiosity. It was fine, but odd. I thought maybe they would just use the zucchini as a binder, but no - there were still some small chunks spread throughout. Didn't really like that, but the brownie was still smooth and pretty good. Interior is quaint, and waitress was very polite.
