This is a local favourite all-day breakfast and lunch restaurant. It has a retro vintage vibe to it. The quotes and license plates on the walls were good entertainment while waiting for my order. The booth seats were cozy for either a group or a solo business traveller. I ordered a coffee and The Fountain which is one of their favourites on the breakfast menu. The coffee mug is bigger than any breakfast restaurant I've been. The taste of their coffee was decent. The Fountain - 2 eggs of my preferred style, 2 slices of ham, hashbrowns and 2 pieces of multigrain toast. Their portion was very reasonable. The over medium eggs were cooked perfectly. Their ham was to my surprise thick and hearty. It's not those usual thin slices. The flavour and texture were nice. It was flavourful, but it was just a tad too salty for me. Balancing out with a bite of hashbrowm or toast was perfect. The hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and soft inside. The butter spread on the toast was evenly distributed. The server was very nice. He greeted me as soon as I walked in and asked me to sit anywhere I want. The service was fast. They have free street parking. It can be busy during peak hours. I would go back if I'm in town again. read more

Its a small diner in Victoria. I loved the ambience. They have outdoor seating too and the waitlist is pretty quick even on a weekend. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I loved the food. Everything was made fresh. But chocolate shake is what I loved the most. read more

I ate here yesterday with my wife and three girls. We came in a little late as they were closing in about 45 minutes. They didn't try to rush us through at all and were super kind. The service overall was fantastic! It's in a great part of town with great accessibility and has a great theme in the restaurant. The food was fantastic! I had the breakfast poutine which was awesome! The others had the chicken sandwich. We are from the States so this was a great local place for us to enjoy. read more

Really nice waitress and the food is good. Nothing extraordinary. It's about what one would expect from a place like this. I had the buttermilk chicken burger. Unfortunately the breading fell off the slippery chicken breast and the whole sandwich fell apart so I had to eat it with a knife and fork. It was ok. I prefer greasy homemade fries. If their fries are homemade (?? Not sure) then they are just way too dry and tasteless for me. I'm guessing many people like dry fries because they are trying to stay away from fat?? Too bad. When I go to a diner I want to indulge. When I go to a health food restaurant I want to eat something healthy. I try to plan accordingly. Street parking only but it is free! Yeah. Not too busy after the lunch crunch. It's time to take down the plexiglass barriers a là East Germany circa 1979. Bathrooms are *only gender neutral and I'm not a fan. The cutest breakfast place in town! First walk in and all Covid-19 proticals were in place and felt very safe, small restaurant but the cutest atmosphere and kindest hostess's. Ordered the breakfast poutine and the kids got french toast both were great, french toast came with strawberry sauce and maple syrup and for a good price. Only downside was parking there's a few spots right outside but if they are full there's a parking lot a 3 minute walk from the restaurant :) read more

Great little diner! Nothing fancy but that is exactly what I look for in a diner. I was in on remembrance day and it was very special! They had the cenotaph service playing and I was able to get my moment of silence in at the table with my partner. The food was really good and doesn't break the bank at all. Service was fast and friendly. If you're looking for a brunch place this is the perfect little place. I like how it's very local and had old Langford history up on the walls. First time dining at Fountain Diner for an early breakfast and I must say everything went well. We ordered vegetable omelettes and substituted tomatoes for potatoes and piping hot tasty coffee. Portions were HUGE and good. I will definitely go back again for breakfast. read more

It's a cute, small diner full of pictures on the walls and things to look at. We got in quickly enough. Our hostess was nice. Hubby ordered the eggs benny, I got a two egg, bacon, hash brown and toast breakfast and we got our little guy the pancakes. When our food arrived, it was not hot. Luke warm at best. Hubby said the hollandaise was bland but that his eggs were cooked to his liking. I asked for over medium eggs and they came out very runny. They were not the typical medium of mostly cooked and slightly runny that I get everywhere else. My toast was cold and hard, barely buttered. Hash browns were the best part. Our little's pancakes were prob the most tastey thing we ate but again, barely warm. Oh we got a vanilla milkshake and that was good. It was big enough for the 3 if us too share. The waitress never came back to check on us. I was going to send my eggs back, if so. I ate mostly everything and left the eggs behind. When we were finished and she finally came over, I told her my eggs were too runny. She told me that's how medium is - I know that it's not. Anyway, she asked if I wanted new eggs. Ummm not now that we are done. Perhaps if she came over a lot sooner. Anyway, they did comp the milkshake for my eggs. So that was decent at least. We would not come back. There is choice in Langford now for diner breakfasts, so instead of Floyd's, or Jasmine's (oops is this Colwood?), we found the Fountain . . . . While waiting at the door for a table about 7 minutes, we got to peruse the yummy menu - breakfast or lunch? Lots of classic choices and the prices seemed fair. My "skillet breakfast" was presented on a plate, and not a piping hot skillet. But, ok . . . . it was big, filling and delicious with 2 eggs done your way, fried potato slices, melted cheese, and a choice of meat - I got bacon - a load of pieces (not slices) underneath. Two slices of toast, choice of bread. No garnish. My partner's West Coast Omelet with smoked salmon was taken away within a minute, as the server said the order was mixed up. The omelet that came back looked hearty enough and he said it was delicious, with same fried potatoes and two slices of toast. Orange slice garnish. It's like Floyd's food downtown without the hipster feel, loudness and close tables. Only downside was canned pop and no refills (ie., why is this called a Fountain?), and the lower quality, smaller portion pack Sysco jam and peanut butter. Kraft, Knott's, homemade or anything else would have been better. Free flowing ketchup and HP Sauce at the table, yay! read more

Granted it was busy on a Sunday morning and we wee a table of 7 but a 45 minute wait for breakfast food to arrive is unacceptable. The general concensus was that the food was good and I will only speak to what I ate. French Fries were overcooked and chewy. Soup of the day was mushroom barley and it had a really nice flavor but was heavily salted. Everything was nice and hot. A pretty awful experience unfortunately. We were a party of four and it took over an hour to get our food. Tables that arrived afterward were being served while we continued to wait. The food wasn't worth the long wait and slow service when it did arrive with not even a "sorry for the wait". A large sign at the counter proudly states "the deadline for complaints was yesterday", which about sums up the commitment to good service here. On the plus side we weren't seated at the back where the tables are within five feet to the toilets. We won't be back. read more

The food was pretty good, I ordered the "bad-ass burger" and my wife had the quesadilla with a garden salad. Both were large servings and filled us up. The biggest complaint I had was the time it took to get our food after we ordered. We waited approx 45 minutes for our order to arrive, that's just too longer for a burger and a quesadilla. In addition the table beside us, who arrived after us, received their order about 7-8 minutes before us. When we add up the 15 minute wait to gather seated , 5-10 minutes to order drinks and view the menu, plus waiting 45 to get or food it turns out to be almost 2 hours for lunch. Other than loosing that time on my Sunday, for average food, it was decent. read more

My serving size was 2 tablespoons. Normally I avoid places like this but sometimes you don't have much choice. The serving size told me they didn't want me there, I didn't want to be there either, I would much rather have been across the street at La Taquisa enjoying the El Gordo burrito. I would strongly recommend John's Restaurant downtown, it's well worth the trip or La Taquisa if you don't feel like traveling downtown. The Very Good Butchers also has amazing Benny's, their pesto benny is my favorite. read more

I just finished lunch at this restaurant. The service was very slow so don't go if your on a lunch hour from work - it took so long for my food to come that I had to rush eating to get back to work. Also, I ordered a hamburger only and was specific that I did not want fries or anything other than the hamburger. I was surprised that my bill was for the entire amount of the platter price from the menu. When I asked at checkout about paying for the fries when I did not order or eat them - the waitress replied that fries are inexpensive. Maybe but not when you don't order or eat them but pay for them. I will not return and I work about 3 blocks away. read more

Entering Langford, we saw someone had put soap in the park fountain, it was foaming over. This was a sign? We ate good greasy spoon food. Friend got accused of being the owner of a condom wrapper on the floor. She wasn't, but expect condoms wrappers. I had a 7 dollar coffee with baileys? Food portions gigantic. Not good, would never come here again. Wife and I ordered a coffee and a tea. Tea was decent (hard to mess up tea) but the coffee tasted like garbage water. Asked for a fresher cup and it tasted like fresh garbage water. Ordered a French toast for myself and a breakfast wrap with no meat for the wife. Food took 45 minutes to come and was completely underwhelming. Came to 30$! Extra star just because they had nice hash browns. read more

I'd honesty rather Denny's... the hours here aren't great, it's a bit cramped as well. My parents were frequent customers until recently... but came down with severe food poisoning from here a couple weeks ago. My husband and I probably won't be back either. Seems the price is right but they seem to slowly be going down hill. I'd rather Denny's where the servers are always cheerful and not monotone, the restaurant is bigger and brighter and the portions are big! Even if I am paying a little bit more, it's much more worth it. Sad, since this diner once had much better reviews. I've heard a few not so good ones recently. Hope they can shape up. read more

I've been here once before and the potatoes are hairy, also the sausages taste like sand and bacon fat. The bread isn't too bad, it's usually toasted to perfection; also the peanut butter is really good. The bacon is always good, but when is bacon not good. My recommendation is, if you go there, just get bacon. Over and out. read more
