We spent the morning at the Beauchard Gardens. They are amazing and one of the highlights of the island. For lunch we found on the internet a highly recommend restaurant that sounded like fun. Zanzibar Café is located about 15 minutes away from the Gardens. We were able to get a table at one of the outdoor seating areas. The restaurant has a bit of a Middle Eastern menu. My wife had a large mulligatawny soup, I had the barbequed chicken with seasoned pita bread. Overall, the meal was outstanding. Wonderfully flavored. Sadly the restaurant was closed on Tuesday evenings or we would have driven back for dinner. It was one of the fun best meals we had during our stay. Highly recommended.

Quaint, rustic, casual, homey, and comfortable Was there for breakfast and it was awesome! A lot of choice with original, creative offerings with an emphasis on healthy ingredients. I had the British breakfast that was massive and delicious. You even get a proper porcelain teacup for your tea and they serve homemade jam. I'd like to go back and try out lunch and dinner

Nice little place for breakfast near our accommodations. *dear yelp, we don't have time for long reviews, we just want to know if we'll get food poisoning or not.

Situated on the edge of the village, in a beautiful spot surrounded by gardens, Zanzibar is conveniently located en route to the ferries, Butchart Gardens and the Airport. Chef Mohamed Dehairi has found the ideal location to continue to serve locals and visitors the superb fare that made Quattro Stagione an institution on the Peninsula. Zanzibar preserves the taste and value clients have come to expect, with some refreshing changes and seasonal lunch and dinner menus. There were 6 of us there for lunch and we all had something different and each one was perfection. Will we go back there again? You bet your boots and by the way our server Rowen was top notch .

A great find! Home cooked breakfasts in a lovely setting! We found this place on our way to Butchart gardens and were glad to be off the beaten tourist path. My breakfast came with a "cup of fruit" which was actually a teacup of fruit smoothie which I enjoyed!

We walked up from the marina and i must say it was worth every step. We had the Classic Eggs Benedict and the West Coast Eggs Benedict, with Salmon, capers and red onion. The eggs were perfectly done and the flavors were amazing. We finished the meal with a house-made Blueberry-Coconut muffin that was warm and worth every calorie. Many other items on the menu looked great as well. We'll be back!

Very cosy and charming place. We went for dinner, the menu was limited but options were great. Food was absolutely amazing for a very good price. The cocktail are good, especially the aviator. We had the roasted parsnip, the scallops with red peppers pasta and the bison ribs. Your waitress was nice, we came at closing time but they let us in. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Delicious panini!

Lunch today. Not great. $12 for a bowl of soup that was sub-par. The breakfast wrap was tasteless. Service was fine. We won't be back.

Newest Location - Opened October 2022…read more Before heading to the Butchart Gardens we decided to have an early lunch outside. Floyd's Diner, as I understand, is a Victoria, BC landmark so let's find out why... This is their 4th and newest location. Our server informed us that they opened in October 2022... wait, they'll be almost on their first year anniversary next month... and no reviews and photos? Let's get them started. I ordered a BLTA and came with a bowl of soup for the day: Coconut Cauliflower Curry (meh, I didn't really like it). The BLTA was good, though. This 4-ingredient sandwich always hits the spot for me, perfectly cooked bacon, thick slices of tomato and avocado in toasted bread. Husband chose "Listen to Me While I'm Talkin'" (you should see how they named their sandwiches and meals on their menu). When my hubby said "Listen to Me While I'm Talkin'" to our server she replied back and said "I'm listening" LoL! The walls are adorned with framed photos and I still have yet to find out who "Mahoney" is and what's up with the Marilyn Monroe theme. Food took longer to serve than normal. 3.5-Stars dining experience. Review #3173

With our friends, I had a chicken burger with salad. I was disappointed. This was small and had very little flavor. Floyd's is definitely a better breakfast or brunch place than lunch menu. Our second visit on November 9th, I ordered the Vegetarian Hash, it was alright but a little cold. My son had the Lymberjack and spouse had Austin Powers. Atmosphere was decent but I prefer Langford's both for food and atmosphere.

I loved the spacious interior with the retro diner aesthetic. I loved how it opens at 7am and has a lot of breakfast options, and all are reasonably priced. I love the booths, the soda counter, the chalkboard message board with daily specials on it. I love the cheery and attentive server we had. And, lastly, I love the food here! (I was here for breakfast and my eggs and bacon were EXACTLY how I ordered them, and they also made me a fantastic iced vanilla latte, too). The restaurant and the bathrooms were super clean, too (bonus!). I checked out the extensive menu and realized, heck, I should have come here the day before for lunch. They have so many sandwiches and burgers available. Just wow. IMO this place would be perfect for breakfast or lunch, or a late night snack. (I think they're open until 9pm). If you like traditional diner fare, this is the place to be, for sure.

The first night my wife and I had scallops for appetizers and herb crusted Wild pacific salmon for the entrees. Their fish were cooked to perfection and the accompaniments were an enhancement as opposed to a dominating force. The second night I had escargot and my wife had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both loved our appetizers. The shepherds pie was good although I found the cheese on top of the mashed potatoes was neither necessary nor authentic, but it was still quite good. My wife had the duck confit which she liked very much. The ambiance is one of a country English cottage which felt cozy and warm and the servers were personable and solicitous without hovering. I'm guessing as good as most of the restaurants in town (Hastings House lies just outside the main strip).

Started out with lobster bisque (with a good amount of lobster) and a dozen snails (chef slipped a couple extra!) in a marvelous garlic butter and Parmesan sprinkled over all. Then for entree we enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Herb Crusted Wild Pacific Red Snapper With Creamy Parmesan Polenta, Basil Pesto. I enjoyed the Pan-Seared Nova Scotia Deep Sea Scallops on a fresh bed of lettuce mix and greens. So definitely a restaurant to try but you'll want to plan staying a night or two given they are on an island off the Vancouver island! Rooms are great also with some placed in cabins with views making you feel like you're in a tree house amongst the pines.
