This is the finished bathroom with the new shower, floors, vanity and toilet.
Kristin H.

We remodeled our master bathroom and it turned out better than expected. We are very pleased! We needed to replace the shower in our master bathroom and weren't sure where to start with the remodel. We came across Pluum Construction and reached out to them about the project. James got back to us right away and set up a time for a consultation. He came out to view the bathroom and offered helpful suggestions for the remodel. We ended up extending the shower, replacing the floor and moving the electrical outlet as well. The bathroom turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend hiring Pluum Construction, they did a fantastic job! I included pictures of before and after as well.

Before (the original fence).

This past week we utilized Pluum to remove an old and dilapidated chain link fence and replace it with cedar. Take a look, the photos speak for themselves. We've been homeowners for years, had lots of contractors out for various roof, landscape, and arborist work, among others, and our experience with Pluum has been the best out of all. I was fortunate enough to have two estimators come out and provide independent advice, guidance, and pricing. They were thorough and extremely patient, asking thoughtful questions as well. The crew for the fence was on time, followed Covid protocols, and even completed the fence on schedule despite having to add some additional work to link to a neighbor's fence. Pluum was able to offer a wide variety of payment options, including Venmo, which was great because that's not always available. The icing on the cake was they were able to take the little bit of leftover cedar they had, and put together a large kindling/wood box (see photo #3), just because they noticed I had a firepit. If you're considering residential work, these guys should be your first and only call.

Working with James and his crew was a pleasure. They were prompt, responsive to calls and emails and pleasant to have in our home. We were happy that he was wiling to take on a smaller job. The countertops are beautiful and they worked hard to ensure that every detail was finished to our satisfaction. The price was very reasonable and matched our initial bid. I would highly recommend Pluum Construction.

After

Pluum recently came out to install a dishwasher and garbage disposal for me (where I didn't have them before). James came to look and give me a quote literally hours after my initial inquiry via Yelp. The work was done the next week. I've included a picture of the cabinet before and dishwasher after. Both the dishwasher and disposal work perfectly!

We needed to get our master shower replaced and decided to do our whole bathroom. We called a few contractors out and James was quick to give us a fair bid. We decided to move forward with doing a second bathroom after finishing our master bathroom. James' vision for our master is what sold us. We wanted to expand our 3 x 4 shower and he was able to double the size, which I didn't think was possible. All of the workers that came by were super professional and always wore masks, which I really appreciated. One of the best parts of working with James is we were always able to get ahold of him. Some minor things went wrong, which is par for the course with construction, but James made sure to right them all. While the projects ended up taking longer than planned, the end product was worth it! Thanks James and team!

Terrible finished product, at twice the bidded price…read more Upon calling Joe for a bid, he requested the address so he could come out and look at the site before bidding it. (The work site was accessible from the alley so we we didn't need to be home for him to review it). A week later, I texted and asked if he'd been by, and if he had any questions. He sent a bid, which was lower than others and we booked him for the work. On the day of, Joe announced that he was charging us twice as much because he didn't know there was any demo/paver removal involved- which he would know if he'd looked at the site before bidding the project. We were frustrated but agreed because the timing was critical for the next phase of our project. The bid was for 8" deep, with rebar. I came out when he was 1/3 of the way into the pour to discover Joe was pouring 2"-6" deep, with no rebar. When I questioned him, he flatly lied and said it was 8" depth until I offered to get a measuring tape, at which point he admitted it wasn't. He then tried to pour using our uneven pavers as the form. When confronted he noted he'd use an even edge- we afterward discovered he used lumber from our property for framing the pour. There are so many more issues, I wont outline them all. The end result cost twice as much as originally bid, and may need to be jackhammered out so that it can be poured correctly.

Joe and his crew are very nice people and are very skilled replacing the driveway…read more Joe outlined exactly what he was going to do and when he was going to do it. The old driveway was removed on Friday. On Monday the forms and rebar was installed. Then the cement truck arrived and the concrete was spread evenly 6 inches deep. The surface was smoothed out evenly. Then, Coca-Cola was sprayed over the surface which prevented the top layer of cement to harden. Later in the day, Joe returned and washed the top layer of concrete away exposing the aggregate. The finished product looked exactly as Joe said it would.

Living in a 30-year-old home for the past two decades we've had several phases of upgrades, but one…read morething has always been absent from a 10x10 slab on our back porch: a hot tub. So, this summer, we decided to move forward with the plan to be "soakin' for the holidays" three months away. The only thing standing in the way of that dream: the slab and its neighbor had sunk a few extra degrees, roughly three inches, at the far edge. We were going to need to shore up and permanently stabilize this slab if our hopes of the (3-ton when filled) tub were going to materialize. I made a quick call to Terra Firma and they had an estimator out within a few days. The pricing was reasonable and had the standard 50% up front 50% when complete-type contract. Casey arrived spot-on at 8:00am yesterday morning and began doing his magic (the process involves boring 1/2" holes through the slab, then using high pressure and heat to inject a molten expanding foam under the slab.) The foam is rated to support about 5 tons (10,000 pounds) per pound of foam material, and....100 pounds later that whole slab is back to following the prescribed slope perfectly, raising almost three inches on the sunken side. He did a great job and was a great rep for the company, explaining what little was left to explain. He kept me up on the status of the (4-hour) job as he went along--because our slabs had previously cracked, he had to gently lift it up in small sections so as to not have the sections separate further. Perfect job. 24 hours later and the patched holes have dried to almost-invisible (see photos). Unless you know what you're looking for, you can't even really see that repairs were made. Now I just need to fill in the pre-existing cracks with concrete patching caulk and we're ready to schedule the hot tub delivery! Yippee! Thanks Terra Firma!
