Items piled on top of multiple tvs which are likely ruined. A new jacket thrown on the floor that is extremely dusty. Everything is dusting because they didn't have the decency to cover items with plastic. A brand new Disney towel was used to wipe their clear chalking cause they didn't have the decency to ask for a rag. They then threw the towel away hoping I wouldn't find it in a box of trash they left. My trash can lid is missing. They ruined baseboard in many areas by prying it up with a bar. No one confirmed the flooring they were using and it looks much darker than what I selected. No one explained that they were done and they just left. They also left marks on newly painted walls and didn't bother to wipe them off. Not to mention the last time they were here to do the job they let my dog out of the backyard who could have been lost forever or hit by a car. Luckily someone found her and returned her but no one apologized - not the contractors, not the project manager and not the owner of the company. I would NEVER recommend this company. And I guarantee I will tell everyone about their horrible service, will complete a survey everywhere possible and turn them into the better business bureau. Everyone here today should lose their job for being blatantly extremely disrespectful of my property and this type of business should not be allowed to continue to service other people. Such extremely horrible disrespectful service!!!! It's mind blowing that there are people out there that would leave someone's home like this.

I asked the rep several times if they receive remuneration from this company for referring them and never got an answer. First contact they showed up without an appointment so we rescheduled. When they came in I specifically told the supervisor (?) that the stacked packages of waterproof flooring on my floor (nearly a thousand $ worth) should be left there. If anything the bottom one had gotten wet but the rest were stacked on top. They ended up in my back yard behind a picnic table and I didn't see them until after Christmas ( this event happened in September). I really thought they were under one of the piles they made of things in the basement. When I complained I was told they could come back and remove and trash them. I want my flooring or the cost because they were not trash. They never spoke to me of how they were removing stuff that was "unsalvageable" according to them. They only spoke with the insurance company. My coverage was only $5000 and Duraclean charged almost $3200 to remove stuff, cut drywall and place fans. They left large built-ins in front of my sump pump closet where I needed access to a water cut off and the new sump pump. I'm 71 so could you imagine how hard it was to move those things? My hose bib pipe split because of this and I now have that expense as well. Not once did anyone on site consult with me about how this process would work and what was being pitched out. Also drywall was cut out and they hit my WiFi which was repaired by Verizon and it has never been right since. I had to ask for an itemization of their work and the cost and did finally get one but was initially told that list went to the insurer. I questioned why the cost of the fans and dehumidifier rentals were so high-that was a huge chunk of their bill. I was told it was in line with industry standards which doesn't make it not exorbitant. If the company owns the equipment their charges shouldn't be that high in my opinion. If I had rented that stuff myself I would maybe expect the kind of price they listed. The experience was horrible in every way and I'd never use them again. Once again word to the wise: Find your own contractors. I went with Nationwide's referral because I was so distraught about the mess and not thinking clearly. I've had some time to think about it and the only recourse now is to file a complaint with MHIC and/or small claims court for the flooring left out in the rain and snow and other issues. It took me this long to post a review after this mess because I was dealing with a terrible bout of depression from it. Please think carefully before you accept your insurance company's referrals and final check. And- check your policy for your limits-the basement is in total disarray and $5000 was about a third of what I needed to clean it up and make it whole.

The floors are cherry and were originally installed 21 years ago. They wore beautifully, despite an active family with 3 kids and 2 golden retrievers, for 19 years. When Jason saw the flooring for his estimate, he said there was no problem in refinishing them. When he completed his work, the floors looked beautiful but, within days, the finish started wearing off. I called his office right away and was told that this was normal wear and tear. After several more emails, he agreed to look at pictures. He stated that the problem was the dogs... The same dogs that I have had for many years. Obviously, dogs can cause somewhere to flooring... but in this circumstance, the finished was literally scraping off with minimal distress. Jason finally came out to the house after many calls to his office. This occurred about 6 months after he finished the project. He blamed the problem on the dogs and the cherry floors. He refuses to admit any responsibility in terms of the finish literally wearing off. When people come into my house, they frequently exclaim "what happened to your floors, they look horrible!". The floors look much, much worse now, 2 years after Jason Brown refinished them, then they did prior to him working on them. I'm very disappointed by the quality of the job and the lack of customer service.

This is a review regarding my experience with ImagEffects Flooring and Carpet company. Prior to the…read moreinstallation, working with Steve (the owner) was great. The initial visit he was very friendly and personable. He even dropped off his carpet sample board for me to borrow to decide on what carpet to get for my upstairs and basement. My subfloor required both treatment and reinforcement. He sent a crew member to evaluate my subfloors, and he was very professional and friendly. We scheduled for the subfloors to be done and they did an excellent job. Then came time for the carpet installation. I scheduled for the installation to be done at noon since I was out of town. However he sent the crew members to my house two hours earlier than the time we agreed upon, and before I even landed. The crew did an amazing job installing the carpet. The carpets were gorgeous, and I was both excited and happy with the new carpet. However, the crew had removed and left my basement door off of the hinges. The crew member said that with the new carpet that the door couldn't be put back on and that it needs to be shaved. They also said they didn't have their shaver on them, meaning they were unprepared for this common situation, and were simply OK with my door being left unusable. I reached out to Steve to inform him about the situation. And he offered to arrange for someone to come back by to do the job at no hassle to me, and that he would follow up with me to schedule a visit. A couple of days after the install when I followed up with Steve about someone coming, a contractor was sent to my house during a time when I was at work and unavailable, after providing my window of availability for that day. I made multiple attempts to arrange for a visit to know avail and was only told "Let me check" with no follow ups. To this day, my basement door still sitting propped up against the wall where the crew member left it. Overall, the work done with the installation of the carpet is gorgeous. However, given the contractors leaving my door off the hinge, unshaved for the new carpet they installed, the lack of adherence to the agreed upon scheduled visits by sending workers at earlier times that were an inconvenience for me, the episodic correspondences, and the waning effort to reschedule to fix a problem created by the crew members, this has unfortunately soured my experience. Initially I was so happy with the work that I wanted to have them redo my hardwood floors. Now, I'm just disappointed in the handling of my doors post-installation. If this were handled and remedied in a timely manner, my only critique would have been limited to the scheduling discrepancy. But now, this has negatively effected my experience with ImagEffects overall. So the pros are pricing affordability, carpet quality, and professional installation. The cons are not arriving at agreed upon scheduled time, lack of preparedness and leaving behind unexpected problems, and inconsistent communication and follow through to address problems. Update: 10/31/25 They finally returned to shave my doors and put them back on the hinges. So now I can close and lock my doors. It wasn't discussed or disclosed in advance that this service is an additional cost. I wish I was informed in advance or the crew consulted with me before removing my door. But glad that this was resolved, and I'm happy with the carpet and restoration of my doors.
