The Cons: 1- There is only ONE physical branch in the greater Los Angele Metropolitan area. If you like a physical branch to visit regularly that automatically eliminates PNC from consideration. Easy decision. 2- Regular computer browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox on Windows, Mac or any of the Linux flavors) layout for the website is a CLUNKER! It is State of the Art IF this was the year 2005. LOL... You youngsters probably know this stuff already. It is a Non-Responsive website. That is, there is a huge amount of empty real estate around the interactive part of the website. PNC could have used a larger font and put a little more information per page by using this empty space! My humble opinion. 3- No charge to use "partner" ATMs. These are everywhere! However, take note, most of them do not accept cash deposits! For those that do accept deposits look on the ATM map. They are not rare but don't assume the ATM you are visiting will allow a deposit. Now for the Pros: 1- The Google app is mostly fine once you get use to it just like any other app. I have not tried the Apple version to be up front. The App makes it very easy to deposit your checks digitally. Depending on where the check is generated it may take a few days to show up in your account. You will have a record of it being processed as soon as you deposit it. 2- I have never had a problem contacting a human on the phone Monday through Saturday. Bonus: they all speak English CLEARLY! 3- All of your transactions are available to download as PDF files. I started PNC as a little play-around side project when the original account was under SIMPLE Bank. They then were taken over by BBVA and finally PNC. All three transitions went smoothly. In fact, I have become so comfortable with PNC that I FIRED Chase Bank! All of my regular banking needs are done through PNC now. Since I'm now retired I prefer to look at my super sweet 32" OLED monitor as oppose to my phone. If PNC does something about the website they'll get a 5 star from me. read more

As a former 1stBank customer in Colorado, very disappointed that they chose to sell out to a bank that offers it's customers less convenience and security. Not only is it more difficult to reach a live person, customers are forced to turn off their VPN to use online banking/mobile app. Especially for financial transactions, this is an important extra layer of security. 1stBank did not have this restriction, nor does Fidelity, Vanguard, American Express and other financial institutions. Also, you're restricted to using Zelle with only the mobile app, not online banking; another inconvenience if you're working online versus phone. There is absolutely no value-add with PNC so absolutely no reason to use them. read more

This is for the company's online website, not this specific location. I have a new car loan with PNC. The company sent me their welcome confirmation email and also mailed me some paperwork advising me to sign up online. I go to their website and in order to enroll in their online payment feature, the website requires an account number. None of the paperwork provided includes an account number. Whoever setup the welcome to PNC process needs to consider that if something important, like an account number, is required, then that information should be provided to the customer immediately instead of sending them on a roundabout way of acquiring that information. read more

The person at PNC that I worked with was Jennifer Gomez. I haven't heard from Jennifer since late December. I've called the branch several times and spoken with Pedro. Pedro was supposed to call me back and update me on the status of the loan, but he never called. I've had to call the bank relentlessly. Pedro connected me with a guy named Art. Art is on East Coast time, and I'm on the West Coast. It's been a string of phone tag. Now, I want to close the business account,t and I'm getting the run around about that. Terrible customer service over the phone and in branch. I had paid of my vehicle loan. Needed to get a paid of letter faxed to me or email. They said they can't do that they can only mail it in the paper mail which could take up to 10days. I don't have 10days time I need it like right now. What century is this bank on still. Where electric are taking over the world they can't fax or email me my pay off document. I went to the branch she said me that my loan was paid off but she said the letter will come in the mail. This location is always "temporarily closed" regardless of their posted operating hours because their "systems are down" almost all the time. I've driven here 3 times on a Friday, trying to close my account and it's always closed on Fridays because their systems are down. The office manager told us "it could be down for hours or days...who knows". We drive an hour each way and this is the third time we've come and it's been temporarily closed. We've spent more time and money trying to close this account than I want to admit. Oh, and I always call before I come and their systems are up when I call but by the time I get here, they're down again. It seems the only way to close your account in the most stress free way is to zero your account either by check or by transfer online and then call to close it over the phone. Showing up is not going to work, they're never going to be open for you to do any serious banking. It's shocking how unprofessional and unreliable this "bank" is and I can't believe I trusted them with my money. I hope this review can save some people the stress we've been through with this bank over the last couple of months. Take the advice here---don't trust BBVA. Also they're now owned by PNC which has no branch in California so I guess we all need to get used to not using a branch for any banking if you stay with this bank. I originally came across BBVA when they were offering $200 to open a checking. It seemed like a great deal so I opened it since I only have one other checking account elsewhere. Originally I kept it as my main account and used my old checking with WF as a bills only withdrawal account. It was fine at first then the headaches started.... 1. Virtually no atms around the area. I live 10 miles from the branch so I'd have to drive out there to pull cash out. 2. I saw a message on a Bbva email is partnered with a specific brand of ATM machines all over and we can use our card to pull cash out for customers-- free. I was so happy. Then I got charged for using the atm, customer service said that my TYPE of account must not have free access to those atms then the call suddenly ended while she was "checking my contract". Never found out anything. 3. $3 fee for transferring money to other accounts for a 2 business day transfer. They got a lot of money out of me this way since I didn't want to make the drive. 4. Bank closed by 5. No weekend hours I would only open an account if you're regularly in the area read more

Their phones are down for their main customer support line, but I was able to get through to this branch, which is the only one anywhere close to me here in California. Customer service at this location is great. Reason for the three stars is similar to what another Yelper said. They make it very difficult to close an account. Years ago I had a mortgage with BBVA. As an incentive, I had to open a CD in order to get a lower rate. Well, the CD was earning peanuts and it was set to auto-renew each year. I wanted to pull my money out mid-year but they were going to charge me hundreds to do so. As a result, I opted to wait until the renewal date to pull my money out. Last year, when the renewal date came up I was in Europe on a vacation. I tried to call to cancel the auto renewal and they said the only way I could do it was to physically come into the branch!?! Really? So instead of flying back from Italy just to close this BBVA CD I let it lapse for another full year. This year I said come hell or high water I am going to cancel that CD auto renewal and pull my money out of the bank. I had a window of only a few days to do it. Unfortunately I hurt my back and could barely walk and/or sit in a car but I still made the trek out to the BBVA branch. It was so painful - both physically and figuratively but I did it. This bank is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have gotten several NSF charges for no legitimate reasons and one time was because I made a loan payment a few days earlier than the due date. When I called to inquire about this fee, the employee at this bank treated me like I was some illiterate human being. He constantly talked over me and would interrupt me every time I'd try to explain anything. They make the monthly payments so incredibly and inefficiently complicated. Once they realized the funds were mine after talking to Square they were forced to release them because they realized that I had a right to my money after holding them for almost two weeks. I withdrew every red cent in the account. They finally closed the account after I went dark on the account. I am glad that headache is over. If you have to deal with their fraud department I'd suggest you escalate to a supervisor immediately because the fraud reps are incompetent and will lazily handle your case and not get anything done in a timely manner. I have been trying for over a year to set up automatic payments for this card and I keep getting the run around. I don't have the card and I need the account information to set this up. I requested paperwork to get it set up, and the paperwork requires the full account information, which I don't get in my billing statement (and I don't have the card). Love this Bank. Love this Branch. I have been banking here for almost two years. I opened my personal account in the Branch and do list of my banking, including check deposits) online or via the mobile app. The staff is always courteous. Whenever I have found a discrepancy on my statements, I just call the customer service numbers and the issue is resolved. I am headed there next week to open up my business account. I have tried to "top-rated" online business banks. Both left me dissatisfied. So I am going back to the Bank that I can trust and has won my loyalty hands down. I have seen the negative reviews and I don't want to discount their experience but usually the negative experiences I have witnessed are by those that are in a hurry, upset because the teller will not perform a task against the bank's policies and procedures, upset because there is a hold on a check, or just having a bad day and want to share the pain. I always have my payments on automatic and missed one payment for the first time EVER and payed 5 days after and even called the bank. They accepted my payment and told me not to worry especially since it was my first time and I found out that they canceled my credit card!! They had the same response "sorry it's the banks policy."
