If you're a customer at Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital, please take note -- there has been…read moreinvolving deceptions in service charges (which I've just filed a consumer complaint with DCP, CT.gov) at this local vet clinic as it's now under a new ownership: As shown in my bills, the previous time (it's still w/ the former ownership, 02/03/2023) I took my puppy there for ear infection treatment vs. as compared to today's ownership for the same ear infection treatment, 09/04/2024 -- they unjustifiably added entirely new charge for $87.56. Besides, I brought my puppy back (09/16/2024) about 2 wks after the 09/04/24 treatment date -- due to the fact that their treatment was useless, didn't result in any improvement for the ear infection symptoms were still there: I explained the situation & they took my puppy away for no more than 3 minutes. And the vet came back admitted that the last treatment doesn't work & told me to buy a new medication to treat my puppy at home. Not only that they refused to honor the cost of the previous treatment, they charged me additional $122.62! Thus, please be aware & inquire all necessary info prior to your next visit -- so that you can make a more informed decision... By the way, I searched online at Amazon.com & found this TRIS Ear Flush from Pet MD for both dog & cat's ear infection treatment for only $16.99 -- Boy, it works like magic! Wish I knew...

He's relatively young.) I warned them of his tendencies and was allowed to hold him and help the doctor with managing his behavior. We saw Dr. Roumanis and she was great with him. She tried as much as she could to do a thorough exam (which I don't believe was tried last time.) I understand the limitations with a cat like mine and was thoroughly impressed with the doctor's examination. I had some concerns on his skin and she answered all my questions and concerns and made great suggestions. She also suggested other shots, but didn't force me into anything unnecessary. She stated which ones would be absolutely necessary. Overall, I was greatly impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff and am thoroughly grateful with Dr. Roumanis's professionalism with my cat. Even with a difficult experience three years ago, I believe the staff has really improved and highly recommended this Banfield and especially Dr. Roumanis. We will definitely be back here.

So we returned the next day and they were unable to properly handle my cat, so they did not do a blood test like they were going to but gave him a shot and totally terrorize him. They wanted me to tranquilize him and return once again. Since my cat was totally traumatized by the visit and went into the basement and just sat for hours and then to the bathtub, I decided I would never go back there. When I was contacted after filling out the survey on my visit and expressed my concerns they just tried to justify their actions with no apology whatsoever. The only ones there that seemed to care about my cat were the friendly front desk people, other than that they just really don't have empathy at all for working with animals. This was my first and last time to go there.

She developed pancreatitis when she was 2 - 3 because we fed her wrong. After she stabilized, they worked with me to find recipes for nearly fat free meals that met her nutritional needs and kept her well. We credit her longevity to those meals with all natural food and their care of her. After Molly passed naturally, they made a donation in her name to a charity that supports getting better food to dogs.....perfect! They sent a lovely handwritten card too. We will eventually get another dog and of course, they will be her vets! Carol Rady, Bolton, CT

I brought it up to Dr Laufer while Gracie was being seen for another concern. Dr Laufer told me it was only a blood blister and and picked away the dry scab. A few days later I brought Gracie back in for a visit because her tummy was still bleeding. Dr Smedley took photos and prescribed an antibiotic. I asked how long do I apply it for and her response was "till whenever." She told me to send in photos after a week. I did just that and was told the area looked better although I told her it's still bleeding. She told me to put a t-shirt so that off she bumps the area it would give it some protection. I was deeply concerned that Gracie was not in the best of care and changed to a practice which is not corporation owned and to a veterinarian whom I trusted. I took Gracie immediately to be seen by her new vet and just by looking at it he told me it is a mast cell tumor. I would like to know how two doctors in one practice had no idea what it was and how to treat it. This is tremendously concerning and I feel it's important for others to know this. My recommendation is to stay away from corporate owned veterinary practices. I adopted Gracie during Covid and my previous vet was not taking on new patients. Manchester Vet Clinic was the only one taking new patients. I later learned that they are corporate owned. My recommendation is to do your homework when looking for a veterinary practice because corporations are buying out small practices. You don't receive the kind of care, knowledge, warmth and professionalism.
