I have eaten here several times My last 2 breakfasts were very good. The pancakes were delicious and included real berries. Today I had a scramble which included eggs , avocado, jack ches and chorizo - also very good. The service was good. The iced tea which I always judge was also good. Sat outside with my wife and service dog and it was pleasant. I would suggest the breakfast potatoes over the hash browns. Everything was well prepared and brought in a timely fashion. Why does this location have 3 stars?! I did not sit in at this restaurant today, I ordered Togo. The ordering was pleasant although they can be a bit snappy sometimes. Regardless of the service the food here is so good. I ordered a quesadilla. You get to choose from various sides like fries, fruits, salad, and etc. The quesadilla was fully loaded. I mean it was so stuffed there was food bursting through the sides. There was so much flavor! The only down fall was that there was a lot of grease. Keep in mind this quesadilla has chorizo, and chorizo is super greasy. Overall, I'm stuffed! I'll probably dine for breakfast here soon. read more

My cousin Amy and I stopped in for lunch after a round of golf. We were greeted by Kathy our server who is a real gem to the place. Her smile is bright, and she is a people person. Not being from the area, we asked her questions about things to do as well. It was then she told us that she had just moved here as well. So we all laughed at the coincidence. She made our stay such a good one that Amy and I agreed to return to Poached on our last day before going to the airport. We also had to try other delectable items on the menu as well as to say a proper fair well to our new found friend. If we were locals, we'd become regulars. I've gone on and on about our sever however, the menu has such a great blend of both carnivore and omnivore options as well as a few vegan. I fell in love with their Fall Special "Pumpkin bread French toast (real maple syrup) with a 2 egg omelet with sausage, onions, bell peppers, cheddar with a choice of a side (I'm home fries all the way) My cousin fell in love with one of the other specials that day "Irish Eggs Benedict" - all I know is that corned beef was involved and her plate was clean. Other favorites are Chicken Cordon Bleu Panini and the Ultimate Veggie wrap. The great thing about the side options are that they aren't all fried or bathed in oil or butter. There is a side salad, a side Cesar salad, or fruit options as well. For this Virginia Gal it is bacon or home fries or go home. Now that I know Kathy is there, it is a must return for me for great food close to my parents home, great fun, and great service. After being a loyal customer to the restaurant chain for a long time, I am done. I was talking to other guests in the restaurant and they were talking back to me; totally friendly. I was escorted outside to a table and informed by the own that I wasn't allowed to talk to any of her customers. Basically, you come in, you don't talk to anyone, you eat my food, you pay your bill, and you get the f*** out. Sadly she has lost multiple customers over her breakfast nazi behavior. Stayed in RV almost across st. At Crystal Lakes Resort Went for breakfast on Saturday, busy but had an excellent meal. We rarely go for breakfast twice on vacation but returned on Tuesday. Came here with my family on Fourth of July, big sign on the door that said their summer hours were changed and they closed at 2pm. Walked in at 1:12, a group of 3 girls were sitting at a table by the door, laughing and chatting. One of the girls stood up and walked over to us to inform us that their Fourth of July hours were modified and they'd be closing at 1:30. It isn't polite, so we left but she didn't even attempt to seat us, she made it seem like we couldn't be seated even though the restaurant doesn't close for another 15 minutes. And the sign on the door! Just change the sign for your new hours... super annoyed with how the entire situation was handled. read more

I had always been going to Poached, but not anymore. Walked in this morning with hubby and sister. Didn't look busy and there were more than four or five tables ready. Was told by the hostess that it would be a 5 minute wait, so we said okay and that we would wait. She then told us we need to wait outside. We weren't blocking the door or anything. Look we could have easily waited outside, but this chics smirk and attitude said it all. The other people after us decided to not even wait as well and were totally rubbed the wrong way. I've been to this restaurant several times, the food is "alright". The last time I was there I didn't think I'd be back, they let dogs in the restaurant that aren't service dogs. I don't have a problem with dogs, I have three but they don't belong where there's food being served in a closed environment unless they are a service dog. Yesterday my husband and I went for breakfast, our server was nice and food was good. I looked up from our table and saw a moldy ceiling tile. Really?! That's disgusting not to mention hazardous, sitting there wondering where else is there mold that we don't see, if I'm breathing and eating spores. We have been going to this location of Poached since it opened last year. We have found the service and attitude to be poor. We actually cut back on visiting due to this. So we went back yesterday because it had been some time. Nothing has changed. No one in the place, service still slow so we have decided to take them off our list completely. I had a vegetarian option. It was very good however slightly under done for my taste even though I asked for it to be cooked longer when I ordered. My guests had pumpkin pancakes and a ham and cheddar omelette. They were very pleased. There was nothing left on our plates when we finished except for one of my eggs. This restaurant is dog friendly. We were able to dine outside with our pooch on my lap. You need to avoid this place like the plague. We waited over an hour for our food. Then only one dish of pancakes arrived -- we were a group of 6. No one came out and said anything. Three more dishes then came 15 minutes later -- all cold. We asked for the manager but there was not one working. How does a restaurant operate without a manager? Not well! Then the had the audacity to charge us for the 4 dishes that we didn't eat. So we paid $70. for nothing and left. Although we used to go to the Poached in the Shoppes at Vanderbilt, the Poached on Collier is closer. We have always had friendly, efficient service at both locations, and the food is the same. My husband & I ate there this morning. When we arrived about 7:30 only a handful of tables were occupied, but, when we left a few minutes before 9, all the tables, including the ones outside, were full. I had the firestarter Benedict. The eggs were poached beautifully with runny yolks. There were slices of fresh tomato and avocado, delicious chorizo, and well toasted English muffins with spicy Hollandaise. We had asked for well-done, crispy hash browns with onions, and they arrived exactly as requested. Husband enjoyed his omelet with ham & American cheese. The iced tea was a little strong, but that was easily remedied as the ice melted into it. It's better for it to be too strong than too weak. The prices were reasonable. So i work in the same plaza as the Poached restaurant. The food has been very good. I have called orders a few times to pick up on my lunch break and the women have been very rude every time. I still would make my order because i do like the food. Well Today 8/23/18 a woman answers the phone and I asked about the Chicken Club panini and asked her do you know if it has mayo, her response to me: UGH, WELL I DONT KNOW WHAT ALL THE INGREDIENTS ARE IN THE SANDWICHES MAAM, I GUESS LET ME CHECK. For two adults and 1 child it was 46.00 for 2 omelettes, pancakes, a coffee and an OJ with some black speck floating in it. I thought I overpaid for what was put in front of me. She was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I ordered the Florentine omelette and my boyfriend ordered the Irish Benedict. It's like they were soaked in broth for flavor then fried for crispness. They were creamy on the inside and crisp on the outside. My omelette was spinach (hence, Florentine) with onion, sausage, basil and mozzarella cheese. It was topped with hollandaise and chopped tomatoes and it was just outstanding! Also, weach had a taste of the other's and both loved what the other ordered so the Irish Benedict was amazing as well. I'm partial to Florentine dishes, myself.
