I really wanted to like this place because it really is the only "Mexican" type casual restaurant in the area, but after continued disappointment, I'm just not inclined to continue the patronage. First of all, none of the Aguas Frescas, which is supposed to be a homemade beverages using natural ingredients and fruits, but you could tell that they were all prepackaged sugary artificial drinks. Very good service, and very good food y'all. We were able to seat ourselves and a waiter came right a way. We were served with complimentary chips and salsa. We then ordered a chicken tortilla soup for me and my husband ordered the mix fajita mix which comes with chicken, shrimp, and beef. We also ordered margaritas which were pretty good as well. I have been going to Poblano's since they first opened up in Bradenton. Loved the place, food, people, prices and portions were excellent. Sadly, the prices are now high, and the portion are way smaller. I got a taco and I thought it was from the kids menu. Just another place that got greedy with their success. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Service was absolutely terrible. I order nachos with fajita as an app, and two other entrees. It took 15 min for the app to arrive, with no drink orders coming before that. The app had not one slice of meat in it. After that, I waited for 30 min for our food, that never arrived. I finally decided to just ask for my check for the food I had eaten even though they didn't include the meat, and guess what? They brought me the check for the entire meal and expected me to pay for it. Terrible service. Horrible manager. Would never recommend a single soul ever dining here. It is unpleasant, unwelcoming, and unhelpful. Overall, probably the worst dining experience I've had in years. In conclusion, complete and utter trash. read more

I had the mushroom and spinach enchiladas with their poblano sauce and it was atrocious. Honestly I would BET MONEY that the spinach was canned. I also added shrimp to my order and they stuffed them in the enchiladas. The shrimp tasted like it wasn't cleaned properly, also very tiny, like bait shrimp. I just ate the rice and beans. My bf got the Chile Relleno and he hated it as well. He's he one that brought me here because he had had the Chile relleno a few years back and loved it. Apparently the quality has gone down A LOT! The reason I even would consider it a one star was for the guacamole. It was good. But can you really mess up guacamole?? It's really not worth it especially to be paying 13+$ on a plate. I love Poblano's. The food is solid Mexican and Tex Mex offerings. The service is always friendly. It's not a fancy place, but it's a nice laid back environment to enjoy some good food. Everything I've tried here is delicious and I love that many of the options are halal. My favorite thing is probably the chicken quesadillas, but the fajitas are a close second. Cute little mom and pop operation at the end of a nondescript shopping center off of Eldridge Pkwy. Placed the order to go. The lady answering the phone was quite pleasant and accommodating for I wanted some things changed from how dish is the originally served. My grilled tilapia dish came with 2 sides potatoes and rice. Rice and potatoes were soooo good. The dipping sauces were flavorful. The main event the fish...disappointing unfortunately. It was way too salty. I hope that's now how it's usually served. I dined in with two other people for the first time today. Previous times were take out. The waitress/hostess didn't do much in regards to service and it wasn't busy when we went. The food was good and we had to ask for chips and salsa a few times. She would bring chips, but never more red or green salsa. I would have to ask for more salsa (even though she placed a bowl of chips that were requested). She never checked up on us or asked if we needed anything. She never asked how we liked the food We had to ask for two togo boxes but she only brought one (and no bag). She brought boxes one at a time, and then again for a bag (even though it was obvious more than one Togo box would be needed). Again, this waitress was not very attentive, even though she was looking right at me while she was in the bar area (no one was actually at the bar). I've seen her previous times when getting orders to go. When it came time for the bill I was surprised to see the automatic 20% tip included. I asked the waitress about it, who immediately made me talk to another waitress (the girl with the many arm tattoos) and the second girl said it is automatic when the computer sees over $40 was on the tab. It was kinda interesting that the waitress who was "helping" us through out the meal didn't answer my question and had another girl do so instead. The service definitely didn't deserve 20% tip. There were only 3 people dining. We ordered the Tuesday fajita special, a la carte quesadilla, and the four taco plate, with three waters. Not sure where that misc fee came from, I'm assuming she was just trying to increase the bill. read more
