3.5 stars. It's not the best but VERY good. Very homely. Very demure. I love this little place. Menu is huge but the babacoa is SO GOOD. Soups are OK. FEELS like some place around the corner to get some homely good food. The torta bread (when fresh) was amazing. I'm definitely coming back.

Listen, two things you should know: 1. This was my first time here. 2. I came in hangry so I wasn't trying to waste time. And their menu was longggggg! Like, you can order #37 and there's still more to the menu- long. But I knew I wanted a quesadilla and my husband wanted a torta. Although they have over 30 variations of a torta you can order from, we went with a classic fajita de Rea (I'll save you some time, it's number #18). I wanted a quesadilla but I think they were considered a "Gringa" which yes, I'm Hispanic but I just didn't know . Now to the FLAVORR The fajita in both Gringa and Torta was soooooOo good! The horchata (that's self served along with other jugos de mango and piña) was very tasty and the green salsa was full of flavor and not too much of a kick of spice which I prefer since I don't usually have spicy/building my tolerance. The price was what you'd expect in this economy but I mean, for 1. One fajita torta 2. One chicken soup that comes included with entree 3. One gringa quesadilla 4. One small charro bean bowl 5. One horchata 6. Diet Dr. Pepper =$27 Sooo overall, I'd love to come back again for some tasty fajita and horchata

This is our new go to spot for authentic Mexican food! The meat was incredibly tender and so flavorful! I loved that they were served with black beans and hands down they tasted just like the ones my grandma makes! Extra bonus for unlimited refills on their aguas frescas!! They are so delicious and not overly sweet which I definitely appreciate. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. They make you feel welcome and take excellent care of their customers.

I stopped by here to try a different breakfast taco spot. I walked in with a smile on my face ready to try some new breakfast tacos! I was the only patron. No one said hi. The menu was in Spanish and when the girl/woman walked to the register she just looked at me. I asked her if they had anything in English and she pointed to the board, all in English. I laughed and said, "sorry it's my first time here." She didn't react at all. Almost like she was annoyed. I probably should have walked out then but I wanted to try their food. Reading the menu I asked if they had breakfast tacos.. because I didn't see any. "Yeah". Awesome, this girl either doesn't want to be here or she's always like this, idk. Anyway, my smile left. "I'll take two bacon and egg tacos, no cheese please." "We only do three, I can't change it." "Ok I'll take three." I think she could tell I was starting to get annoyed now. Anyway, when I left she said "have a good day", but man unfortunately you only get the one chance to make an impression and she blew it. Also, to make things worse, while I was waiting a mosquito landed on my arm. Food: the tacos were good but the bacon was like fatty ham. Not crispy. Again, good flavor just not at all what I was expecting. The red salsa has a tiny bit of heat, decent flavor, but the green salsa is garbage. I may go back for a take out torts, but I have a hard time giving my money to people who could care less about me being there.

Awesome little spot! Stopped here with a homie before we flew out to LA! Ordered a half torta and got some fideo! Wow! Probably one of the best tortas I've had in Houston! Very affordable and super filling! The pork in my torta was melt in your mouth soft and the fideo was ultra comfort food! Overall a worthwhile visit if you're in the area!

After reading the reviews I decided I'll try this place out. I got here and there was a pretty decent crowd for 1 PM, I figured I'd try to torta and one Pastor Taco since a lot of the reviews they were good. And I have to say I definitely was not disappointed, the torta was massive packed with fajita meat that had an absolute great flavor to it. All the toppings that came with it we're fresh I didn't look old at all, I just needed to add cheese because I didn't see that it wasn't on it on the menu. The Pastore taco was flavorful and juicy unlike some of the ones I've had at taco stands where it's pretty dried out. I would definitely recommend this place any of my friends. Sidenote the restrooms were clean and the tables were cleaned off promptly after people finished eating. The staff were super friendly and always had a smile on my face. Edit: after having a great conversation with the owner he said next time I need to try three tortas that come with three different meats beef chicken and pork instead of just the one large torta that way I have some variety also if I want it. I'm definitely coming back.

Mexico's Deli aaaaalmost got 5 stars from me. The service at the counter was absolutely standout. The lady helped me navigate the entire menu and even offered up a couple of non menu ideas. The selection of tortas and other tasty Mexican food is immense! You're blind if you're not seeing something you're craving on that menu. Our entire table was dead silent face first in their food and if there was any left on a plate, it was carefully packed up to go. Really great food from everything I saw among our orders. Pricing is crazy cheap too considering the pile of food you're getting. The one draw back? Cleanliness. The building they're in is pretty rough. Bathroom had a real bad odor going on, soda machine was out of fizz and everything was just on its last leg. So I'm settling with 4 stars based on all other factors which says a lot. If you're someone who loves roach coaches and other diamonds in the rough, you'll be more than happy here. Clean freaks? Maybe not so much.

Wow! Talk about a taste of Mexican Culture in a bite! I went in here expecting a basic Torta and quesadilla but wow do they use the right amount herbs and spices to get the job done! I highly recommend checking this spot out when your Mexican taste buds kick in! They have about 37+ ways to dress your torta! King of Fortas for sure! Give them a try

Based on the previous review I didn't know what to expect, but damn this place is good! They have a huge menu of tacos and tons of tortas to choose from. I got the slider sampler and loved it. Plenty of food to take home for later. My friend had the #7 and it looked really good. The soup that came with it was bland but who cares we were there for tortas! Also enjoyed the horchata and pinapple Fresca. Definitely going to be stopping by next time the craving hits.

I wanted to like this place. Counter service with tacos, a great selection of tortas, plus they serve breakfast! Usually this is a winning combination, but unfortunately my visits from a few months ago have all been letdowns. Both visits have been on the weekend for breakfast. On the first visit, the woman in the register was super friendly. However, the coffee had not been made and wasn't ready to go even though the store had been open for awhile. I also noticed a lot of flies buzzing near the fruit drinks. On the second visit, the door was locked when we arrived after opening, and we had to wait for someone to unlock it. The kitchen staff was late, and it took a long time to receive our food. I didn't particularly care for my mole breakfast. The mole was one dimensional. There were fingerprints all over my plate. This place just really didn't feel clean in the end, and their staff cannot get their act together for weekend mornings. Too bad too because the concept is good.

Tortas never disappoint. Had the beef fajita torta and also ordered a Gordita to give it a try. My kids loved the quesadillas and fideo soup.

Good food, decent price. Owner doesn't speak English but they tried. I normally don't like Mexican food, this place proved me wrong. Very decent restaurant, everyone must try!!!

It is clear that there was care and attention behind each menu item. Also, the pace of the food being brought out was evenly paced, which I appreciate, and our server gave us just the right amount of attentiveness. We celebrated my husband's birthday here, and they sent out a tres leches with a candle on it. Very kind and very delicious dessert. Usually not a big fan of tres leches, but this one was not overwhelmingly soaked in condensed milk, and it has a very fresh tasting peach (seasonal) puree drizzled on top. We will most definitely return.

The experience started poorly with the valet attendants, whom we found to be rude, dismissive, and very unprofessional. It was such an unpleasant first impression that my wife and I mentioned it to the hostess when we went inside. Unfortunately, things did not improve. The hostess seemed completely unconcerned about our experience and simply informed us that the wait for a table was approximately two hours. While deciding whether our party should wait or go elsewhere, I went to the bar to order a drink. After ordering, the bartender told me that if I was only having a drink, I needed to move. Apparently, sitting at the bar required ordering a meal. At that point, we had experienced enough. Between the unpleasant valet experience, the indifferent response at the hostess stand, the two-hour wait, and then being told I couldn't sit at the bar simply to have a drink while we decided what to do, the overall message was clear: we did not feel welcome here. My wife, the rest of our party, and I decided to leave and have dinner elsewhere. A busy restaurant is understandable. A long wait is understandable. What is much harder to understand is making prospective customers feel unwelcome at nearly every point of contact. Needless to say, this was an exceptionally disappointing experience, and we will not be returning.
