I like to run out for lunch on Taco Tuesdays occasionally with my sweet wife and Poblanos is one of the Mexican restaurants near me. Nothing special about the day but but it's just a habit we've had. This is a basic chicken taco that delivers. Thursdays they have another special too. Nice atmosphere and I can chill at the bar or outside if I choose. My wife loves the staff. They are quick to refresh our beverages. Great overall. I check prices before ordering so I generally know how much the bill will be but I read some earlier reviews were surprised. This is our go-to family outing for Mexican dinner. Service was friendly & fast as now expected. Complimentary chips & salsa is happily refilled without delay and the salsa is spiced just right. Tacos are simple but huge with plenty of cheese and meat. Great lively atmosphere without being too loud. We eat at this restaurant about every two/three weeks for TACO TUESDAY! The chicken tacos are the best. And I love their rice and beans. The queso is pretty thin and watery and it's just ok. Our last visit we walked in and approached the host stand. There were no other customers waiting. I stood at the stand for two minutes while a girl marked up some stuff at the host stand and a guy came up and watched what she was doing. No one greeted us, or even looked at us. Finally, the guy gathered some menus and started to walk to a table while looking at me. These kids did not greet us, or speak to us. Terrible customer service. This is starting to be the norm here. The wait staff is usually very good. The host/hostess is the first point of contact and hopefully someone can get these kids trained properly to greet the patrons coming in. read more

I didn't come for the chips and salsa but they turned up to be the highlight. I could NOT stop eating them after I finished my avocado chicken salad. The chicken breast was slightly on the dry side but the avavado was fresh and creamy. A decent meal for what I thought was going to be a no carb evening! read more

if I could have made it less than a star I would have. we went tonight because we hadn't been in awhile. our waitress was a Luz L., she was terrible. she forgot our queso and was upset when we said we no longer wanted it. I ordered chile poblanos that per their menu was 1 cheese stuffed poblano, rice and refried beans. when I finally caught her attention about it, which took me grabbing the attention of another waitress, she came to the table and argues with me and was rolling her eyes. she never came to check on us and unfortunately these weren't the only issues. we may have to think twice about going back. read more

Have been back since last review and food is still good; service is still terrible and the bathrooms are still dark, dirty and disgusting. C'mon Poblanos! this community is trying to support your business even though all the new restaurants are competing for customers. Clean the bathrooms, put paper towels in the holders, put in some soap, clean the floors, act like you want to be here two years from now, because we want you to be. Hire a cleaning service if needed but scrub that place!! read more

My friends and I were shopping in the area and stopped here for dinner. We hadn't eaten all day so we stumbled upon this location. Our server was great he was very patient as we had no idea what to get. We got everything in a decent timeframe. All the food was good we mostly cleaned our plates lol The only suggestion I have and something to be aware of is that there are soooo many options to choose from. A bit overwhelming. Had a "Taco Tuesday" with a gal pal, when their chicken or beef tacos are 1.49 . Added a nice frozen margarita and it was a nice little, inexpensive lunch. Nice waitress, checked on us often, no complaints anywhere. read more

My daughters theatre company chose Poblanos for the cast dinners for a couple of the nights. Tonight we arrived and they didn't seem to be aware we were coming but pretty quickly organized for a large party. This was my first time visiting. I had just had Mexican so chose Buffalo wings .. i know, come to a Mexican restaurant and order wings.. weird. But they were good. A pretty large portion for about 15 dollars. You could smell the spice when they hit the table and they were cooked well. My daughter ordered cheese quesadillas and wasn't impressed. She was at another table so i didn't grab a pic. I've been wanting to try this place since moving to the area, so my son and I got the opportunity to go and try out a few things. I was not happy with my quesadillas, I think they could have did a lot better with the tasteless grilled chicken and I had to order the rice and beans separately.....however, my son ordered an Enchilada plate that was so good, it came with the rice and beans and three different types of enchiladas, I wanted to trade plates with him after tasting his food..... so now I know what not to order. The drinks were on point and it seem like they gave us the last of the chips that were made that day. Bad service bad food. Arrived and had to wait to be seated 15 minutes a group came in after us got seated. We were the only people waiting. They got seated right away. When I questioned the guy all he said was oh yeah, and seated us..... the waiter kept forgetting about us. Kept saying sorry everytime he came over. Visited here 3 weeks ago after my last visit over a year ago when it was a standard Mexican restaurant. Nothing impressive. Wow!!! They really update the restaurant and menu! Ate there for years and was pleased. Over the last few months I've been there four times. First time I was seated by a small table added to the restroom entrance. Second time in a corner booth by the emergency exit where no one can see you so we waited an eternity for service. Third time they tried to seat at the bathroom entrance and I said no so they took me to the hidden table again and I said no. Third and fourth time I told them where I wanted to sit. They don't seem to like me or the way I look I guess. Also, they started charging 3.9% for credit card usage. They prefer cash. What would a Mexican restaraunt do with so much cash? Ate dinner here last night & thought it was good. Our server was nice & fairly attentive with the drink refills. I had the create your own rice bowl with avocado, black beans, shredded cheese, & sour cream. I chose shrimp for my protein. It was a lot of food. 11 good-size grilled shrimp. I'd get it again. Hubby & our kids split 2 combo meals. Plenty of food for all 3 of them esp since we always start with queso dip. Food came out quickly. It was a little pricey but so is everywhere lately. I go I side at 4:02pm and the restaurant is empty. The hostess is the rudest I have ever encountered at ANY restaurant!! She asked if I wanted inside or outside and due to it being cold I said inside although I told her I knew they had heaters I just preferred inside at a booth. She walked away and came back and said you will have a VERY, Very long wait if you want a booth. I said, "why when all of them are empty?" She said, "Do you want to wait a long time or take a table in the center?" I told her I would go elsewhere and she said, "fine go elsewhere." How rude! I will not be back here. If it were crowded or a line or a wait I certainly could understand. There wasn't a soul on the side of the tables. Not a single person. Just rude. As a POC there is always some kind of issue at this restaurant. The wait staff is commonly friendly, but the food typically takes a longer than usual or expected time to come to our table, all while watching food get delivered to tables around us (some of which were seated AFTER us). Black beans cold and tasted like they were literally poured out of a can, not heated, not seasoned. Waitress never refilled drinks. Prices are up and quality is down. The restaurant is large and the atmosphere is nice. Our server was nice and efficient, but the food was horrible! I ordered steak fajitas and got a platter of zucchini, mushrooms and a few pieces of steak. My daughter's dishes were also loaded with vegetables not usually served in the dishes. I ordered door dash for this order I spent 80 dollars for 2 quesobirra and poblano fajita. Will never again I got the kiddie version of everything I order. When I sat down a month ago we had very large portion which made us want to try again but for the money we spent this is unacceptable and robbery! Don't deal with people who steal! The food was great and my friend wanted a margarita. She loved it. They made it the way she requested it with no issues.
