We were VA beach ocean front for 6 days and we were trying to get into this place every morning but the wait was too long. Finally on the last day we were able to get a table and they did not disappoint. The service was great. We had a service dog with us and they were able to accommodate us. Our waiter came over and explained the menu. We decided to order two coffees and were ready to order food. For food we ordered a western omelet and chicken and French toast. The western omelet was delightful. It was cooked to perfection and came out really hot. The chicken and French toast was good as well. The chicken was well seasoned and tender. The French toast was delicious. The coffee was superb. They gave really big cups so we really enjoyed that. The ambiance was nice. It was Native American themed hence the name Pocahontas pancakes. They had nice pictures on the wall. Different statues inside the restaurant. Overall, it was a great time. I hope to visit them again soon. If you are in the area I suggest you check them out. We walked in on a Saturday morning at 8 AM. It was busy but had several tables to choose from. Definitely a local joint right across from the beach. Waitress came within three minutes to take our order . They have a wide variety of whatever you want, including gluten-free waffles, gluten-free pancakes, and a healthy menu.. if you're severe celiac, they do cross contaminate in the kitchen. The food such as the sausage and pancakes, was tasty but you could taste how unhealthy it was. The service was nice and it is one of those places where you go and pay up at the front. There's a reason this is a staple restaurant of Virginia Beach. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff are so friendly, and everything comes out quick. The restaurant is always packed with a line waiting to come in but you don't feel rushed nor does it feel loud or overbearing inside. Went here Saturday morning around 9:30 am and there was a line almost wrapped around the building. Mind you, they open at 7 lol. It was just 2 of us so we thankfully only had a 20-25 minute wait. Our food came out fairly quickly, which was nice. I ordered the Nutella Belgian waffle combo that came with eggs, bacon, and sausage and I ordered a side of home fries (7/10). There was no seasoning on the eggs or the home fries so they were both very bland. My original two pieces of bacon were pitiful looking, but the waitress noticed that herself while handing me my plate and took the initiative to bring me two extra pieces of bacon, so thank you for that. We also had the Spanish scramble omelette that came with home fries and got pancakes on the side, again lacked in seasoning and def needed some spice. Overall, I feel like the place is a popular local spot maybe even a little overhyped than it needs to be. I do plan to come back and try some their other menu items and see if I'm still feeling the same way. The wait time, though, comparing to what I saw other people doing, seems very long and not really worth it. This a good breakfast place, but it's a churn and burn type of place. You must have your whole party present to be sat. One of the hostess was very adamant about that. We had to squeeze into our table and they even asked to squeeze tighter so that the party next to us could sit. So be prepared to be in close proximity to others. I can't say I was impressed by the food. The bacon was crispy, but the sausage was mediocre. The breakfast potatoes were not like your typical square breakfast potatoes you usually get at most places. They were more like boiled potatoes that were sort of stir fried after, but most of them were very soft and not crispy and very plain. Besides being culturally offensive by name and decor, if you have any food sensitivities, this is not the place to go. My food issues are not a fad; they are life-threatening. But after ordering gluten-free waffles & waiting for my non-dairy creamer (btw the waitress didn't know what "dairy" meant), she told me, laughing in my face, that they had no gluten-free waffles but I could eat toast. Maybe that crap works down here, but up North, you would have had way more pushback, mostly because laughing in a customer's face when they want food off of your menu that you don't have is considered rude, insensitive, and made me feel like shit.
