Great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. It gets pretty busy for breakfast and brunch, especially on the weekends. They have a full bar too! Try any of the pancakes they are super delicious. We did like the Lemon-Blueberry pancake. The Mexican Omelette is also very good, especially if you like jalapenos. The hash brown is good and the English muffin as sides work great. Big shout out to our server Nessa. She was super friendly and attentive. We were sitting outside and she did not forget about us. Thank you!

Chocolates Chip Pancakes! These were good, but overpriced compared to several other locally owned establishments.

The prices have increased but the portions have not. My omelet ($16) was more like a couple of folded over eggs or a crepe. Hash browns were scant but the bacon was FINALLY crispy!! My husband had the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were delicious, but again, the value is no longer there. The prices have jumped about 20% since last summer. There were multiple leaks from the ceiling!! One was right in the walking path, an accident waiting to happen; the other one was right onto the only large group table inthe restaurant. Service was decent. Our guy was chill and friendly but the staff were very chatty with one another so it took a while to signal for more coffee. We won't be back.

We came back for breakfast and drinks after enjoying our previous visit, and once again, it was a great choice. We ordered the Breakfast Tacos, and the Spam and Eggs, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. Their breakfast menu offers an impressive variety, and the drinks are just as flavorful. We loved their Bloody Mary. Rachelle provided excellent service, attentive and thoughtful-making sure we had everything we needed and adding to the overall experience.

This was very packed when we arrived. They cleaned up the other tables and places the other parties before us at a very timely manner. The waitress was very and nice and checked up on us often. The breakfast tacos was good but the patty melt and cheese and grits stole the show. Next time I would need to go for the special pancakes.

The food was really great. Was a very down to earth feel. The service was quick. The noise levels were not too loud. I enjoyed the patty melt and I added bacon. The bacon was crisp and thick the bread was great along with the cheese l. The fries reminded me of double fried fries. The mason cup to drink out off gave me feel of being a little kid again which brought back sweet memories. I highly recommend this place.

Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood! Cause this is THE local diner for brunch. Only a short drive from the beach. Small and sweet plus tasty treats! Friendly vibe and fresh food to order. I got the classic cheesy eggs scrambled with American, hash browns and white toast served with a lovely Mimosa. Plus of course I had to get their staple coconut chocolate pancake. My mouth is still watering as I write this. Highly recommend!

Sophia and I made the long trek from Newport News to Virginia Beach to check out this little spot. I first came across them from watching a piece on Channel 13 where they were part of the Friday Flavor segment. They opened up shop in 2020 and have been a local favorite ever since. Let's find out if the drive was worth it. We met up with some friends for breakfast once a table became ready. Inside, it is gorgeous wuth nice decor and a few tables. Truly a hidden gem tucked away within a strip mall. First off, I gotta say the mason jar of water and the coffee cup were neat. You do not need a refill at all. I read that if you want to order one to take home, it cost $6. Maybe I should've done that, but I have enough glasses in the cabinet. Oh yeah....the food. I ordered one of their Summer pancake flavors: peanut butter and jelly. Also, I included a side of sausage patties and hash browns. I'm gonna use my favorite words in the Yelp dictionary: pretty damn good. The pancakes......oh my God were they delicious. You do not need any syrup nor butter to add to this bad boy. Each flapjack was cooked perfectly and full of PB&J spread. Homemade batter like this tasted even better. The sides I ordered....I didn't even touch them. They were boxed up and will be a nice little lunch. And everybody at our table enjoyed their meal. Huge thumbs up. Well, there you have it ladies and gents, a local spot that checked every box. This exceeded my expectations. Great homemade food with great service. Could not have asked for anything more. There will be a return here for sure :)

Yum! What a great place to have breakfast at! Found this place using Yelp and the ratings did not disappoint! Service was kind and friendly! Our server made us feel right at home even being first timers. All the staff was nice that we had interactions with as well. Food was great. We enjoyed the following: Special summer wrap filled with meats, eggs, cheese and covered with sausage gravy. Served with crispy hash browns! Make your own wrap- Grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes with eggs and cheese! This was also served with crispy hash browns and tasted great. Pancakes! They have lots of specialty pancakes so we had to try some of these as well! Went with the recess's and they were delicious! Lots of yummy flavor. Coffee was kept filled and they serve the water in big ole mason jars. There is only about 8 tables so you might have to wait for a table There is also a bar area with about 9 seats. Will return!

A good neighborhood restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Plenty of parking since it's in a shopping plaza. We were seated right away and my mom was on a walker and they were very accommodating. They do have cocktails but we stuck with water which they bring over in a huge mason jar. I love that.....no empty glasses and less refills for them. Our waitress was very nice. Debbie? I got the chicken caeser wrap with pasta for my side. My mom got the burger and fries and my sister got eggs, bacon and hash browns. Everything came out very quickly and my moms burger was huge! It was definitely a frozen patty and you could not order it your way temperature wise. My wrap was very good and I liked that the tortilla was toasted. I did not like the pasta salad at all. I think it was pasta and dressing. My sisters breakfast was good....no complaints. Since my family seems to think I am a human garbage disposal I got to try the fries and hash browns. Both were good, crispy and perfectly cooked. They seem to be known for their pancakes. They also have a full bar. I like that you can get breakfast or lunch anytime. It was a quick meal and we were on our way. I would go back for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Definitely a 5 star rating for their Mushroom Spinach Benedict. Everything was perfect- tasty and fresh - the egg, the tender mushrooms, the gravy. I chose to get fruit with my Benny. The other choice was hash browns and.....(can't remember because am stuck on the Benny taste). Huntley's place is cozy, has an understated elegance. Plenty of brunch selections. Service is great, staff super friendly and polite!

Brilliant idea. The hostess took our name and phone number and we received a txt when our table was ready. The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was amazing. Since it was our first time at this restaurant we were unsure about what we should order. She gave great suggestions. We ordered the fried oysters, oyster burger, and shrimp with vegetables and eggs. We also ordered a pineapple crush and the localizer. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The oyster burger was very unique it had a fried oyster on top of the patty which was great. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fried oysters were great as well. They came with Pita bread and spinach dip to make an oyster sandwich. Amazing!!! The drinks were on point as well. Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

They've made some updates since my last review. I noticed they swapped out the bar stools for what seem to be a bit more accommodating in style. I believe they have a cornhole section and from what I could tell, an area that could be really fun during the warmer months. The overall vibe is so quirky, cool, different, and I just love how it's decorated. The other locations have the same sort of intrigue but in much different ways. I still love the OG Bay Local and probably need to visit there again to be reminded of why we fell in love in the first place, but the location on General Booth... hard to beat, especially being so close. Another positive is the food quantity, quality, and price for what you are getting. Sure, almost every food establishment had to raise their price, but Bay Local seem to be very reasonable, ESPECIALLY for what you get. I know several other places that have good food, but you are paying several dollars more for what Bay Local offers that is similar (in some cases) but not slacking on portion control and quality. That is huge! Bay Local is a "well-oiled machine" with management, staff, and operations (not their first rodeo). The staff are attentive, friendly, fast in service, including fixing anything that may not have been correct, and still hold the quality of what they offer. We started with sharing the four Reuben Egg Rolls with Russian dressing appetizer. Crispy flaky crust with delicious Reuben meat inside dipping into enjoyable Russian dressing. We ordered salads and our waitress asked small or large. Once she explained the difference, small Wedge for me and a small Pickled Beet Salad. Both were excellence. For comparison, the large salads are a meal unto themselves. My wife decided on the Wild Mushroom Risotto for her entrée. A very generous bowl of rice, wild mushrooms, and peas in a creamy garlic sauce. She loved it. My wife could only eat half of it; the rest came home in a doggy bag. Everything relating to hunting. The place was rather loud with a few large parties. To the point that my guest and I couldn't even hear each other. Once they left, it was nice and quiet, unfortunately, we were about to leave as well. I was told it's best to make a reservation, so I did through open table but I don't think it was needed at the time of our off-peak visit (3.16.2026). Service was great. The waiter kept returning to see if we needed anything and how the food was. It was our first time trying the Oysters Rockefeller ($18 for 6) which is Half Shell Oysters stuffed with a creamy spinach and applewood smoked bacon which were good. At this time, I had nothing to compare them to, but 2 days later, I had them at The Atlantic on Pacific and those were SO MUCH BETTER! A lot cheaper too during happy hour. I had the Filet Mignon ($49) - Garlic and Herb whipped Potatoes, Roasted Broccolini, Tarnished Truth Steak Sauce and Sauteed Mushrooms (I'm allergic to Mushrooms so I had them on the side for my guest to enjoy them). Very good meal. The Tarnished Truth Steak Sauce is so yummy, I could drink it. Complimented the Filet Mignon and the potatoes so well. The broccolini was also delicious. For dessert I got the Smore's Brownie ($10). It was more like a chocolate cake with marshmallow, Caramel and Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream. It was not worth the money or the calories. Pretty tasteless. You need walnuts in a Brownie or it's just chocolate cake. I had gotten a Reuben sandwich ($18) to go and it was very fatty like bacon. Unfortunately, it was a waste of money because more than half of it went in the garbage due to it being so fatty. I felt the place was rather pricey and if you are just dining there, I do feel the valet parking should be free or reimbursed by the restaurant (i.e. take the charge off the bill). I think you can find some more reasonable places and better food nearby.

Walked in on a Saturday evening. With great weather that day, sitting outside was nice. Our server…read moreSamantha took good care of us. I loved the salt cured ham and brie plank! Everything went well together! The pickled okra was a revelation. I liked it! The pita bread was warm, flavorful and had great texture. The raw clam and mussel were okay. Blackened tuna with broccoli salad and grilled asparagus was also nice. Broccoli salad was delicious. Vanilla cheesecake with berry compote was a great way to end the night. Had great food, service and experience here.

The place was spotless and decorated with...driftwood pictures. Obviously. It's in the name, folks. There is a free parking lot onsite which is a plus, but it's very tight. Larger SUVs and trucks may have a tough time. Our waitress was nice and went back to the kitchen to get an answer for my food question (they're white onions not red in the veggie omelet). I was also a fan of her raspy voice. Whoever did their website did a great job...at deceiving the public. The pictures look much better than how the food tasted. Maybe I should've ordered differently? I ended up getting the veggie omelet (without peppers and tomatoes). One plus was that they didn't pre-butter the toast. I liked that. Most places put gobs of butter on, that I end up wiping off with a napkin. This is also one of the few places that sell creamed chip beef (which isn't my jam but might be yours)!
