I was in town for a workshop and I had been craving some noodles and sesame chicken for about a week. I thought I'd check what places around the area would satisfy my craving that had good reviews - and Poch's ended up being the winner. I ordered sesame chicken, steamed lo mein, and an egg roll. I called ahead and they told me it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Which worked perfectly because we were about 9 minutes away. The other people I was with were ordering their food so by the time we'd get there after 15 minutes or more. When we got there it was a bit confusing, because the yelp address is wrong. It's actually on the other side and closer to the intersection. Anyway, I went in and went to the counter at the back of the restaurant. I told the young lady working behind the counter that I was here for my food that I ordered over the phone. She asked me for my name, I gave it to her. I asked her how long - and she said only a few more minutes. I think we waited for maybe 10 minutes (I got distracted chatting away) and I asked one of the other ladies where my food was - that I was told it would be ready in 10 - 15 minutes. & it had already been 10 minutes over that. The lady looked at me, said oh okay, and came out with my food all ready in a bag. We went back to where we were having the workshop, and although the noodles were good I was disappointed in the chicken. It was not hot - it was a little cold. The chicken was soggy and a bit bland. But the noodles were good, the eggroll was decent. Nothing to write home about. All in all, probably won't be back if I'm ever in Tyler. read more

Gave them another chance after a bland food experience and I'm glad I did! I got pepper chicken with fried rice and it was so flavorful and tasty just the right amount of spice and it was hot and fresh even from ordering delivery. The food was pretty good. The only chinese food place in Tyler that actually uses shredded pork in their hot and sour soup. A big plus in my book. The egg roll was a bit greasy which wound up on the front of my shirt, but good all the same. Now for the down side: cannot order or pay online for pickup, sign on door references curbside delivery which they didn't have (mainly due to parking lot issues), and the delivery services that service the business (grubhub, waitr, etc.) don't run out to where I live. read more

Let's start with the premises. Very clean and lots of space. Tables are not crowded giving you plenty of room. Very good lighting. Not dark and dreary. Service was the best we have had in a long time. Order st the counter and they bring it to your table. They are there to serve but are not always interrupting. Menu is extensive. Lots of variety to chose from. They bill their Egg Rolls as "the best in Tyler". I would enlarge that area to East Texas. They were about as round as a baseball bat handle, fried perfectly and filled with delicious filling. We had Egg Rolls, Egg Drop Soup, Hor and Sour Soup and Hunan Beef. Eggs Rolls were fantastic. Egg Drop Soup, rich, delicate and tasty. Hot and Sour Soup was the best I have had. That includes several 4 Star Resturants in the DFW area! Velvety texture with lots of mushtooms, Tofu, Scallions etc. The Hunan Beef was also delicious!! Came with two scopes of Brown Rice that was moist and hot. The Hunan Beef and Sauce were absolutely delicious. The mushrooms and Broccoli were cooked perfectly. I need a thesaurus to describe how delicious the food is at Poch's Rice Cafe. If your in Tyler you must stop for lunch or dinner or both! You won't be disappointed!! read more

The food tasted fine and the portions were normal. Unfortunately my mom found a hair in her food and a roach came out at us while we were eating. We have a friend who loves it but it just didn't impress me enough to overlook the sanitary issues. I get good fried rice in Houston. This fried rice was not that great. It was mushy and not flavorful enough.

We tried Poch's because it is close to our house but the food was disappointing. My Cashew Chicken was bland and was mostly celery and some other mystery vegetable. My husband's food was also bland. We tried adding salt, soy sauce and hot sauce it make it edible. Also, the broccoli in his was way undercooked so he had to pick it all out. My daughter ordered the Orange Chicken. Again, the broccoli was not cooked but at least her's had good flavor. Probably will not be back. read more

When Poch's first opened, I gave it five stars. The food was fresh, well prepared and the best in Tyler. My recent orders have changed my opinion to only three stars. While they DID have the best egg rolls in town, recently they have been soggy, greasy and uninspired. My last order for four people included a pork sweet and sour dish. The pork was so tough and gristly that it couldn't be eaten. I always order hot and sour soup but recently it has been inconsistent. One day it is the great, next it just doesn't taste the same. I do enjoy their daily specials that include a main course, brown rice and either an egg roll or soup. I like Poch's Rice cafe and continue to eat there but now, instead of being the best in Tyler, it is only average. I hope the owner spends some time bringing Poch's back to the quality it once was before I find a different place that serves the best Chinese food in Tyler. read more

At 930p I saw that no progress was made on the order so I decided to call into the support center. The lady on the call reassured me that the order is 15 minutes away and apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a discount on my future order. 20 minutes passes... and I get a text message that my order has been cancelled. Its 10p, 2 hours after I placed my confirmed order. If you have no intentions of fulfilling my order why couldnt you let me know 2 hours ago. I patiently waited my food to come FOR 2 HRS. I traveled in from NC today and I had a rather long day full of being surrounded by perturbed travelers with masks on an airplane. This absolutely ruined my night. I didn't get to try their sushi this trip but I am going to go back just for it.
