WOULD CERTAINLY STAY THERE AGAIN. We read the awful reviews before booking, but this was the least expensive option around for our party of 6. Yes, the hotel is slightly older, but contrary to the other reviews, it wasn't as horrible as others have said--maybe it was because we had lowered expectations going in, but in fact we were pleasantly surprised. THIS IS NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL PEOPLE, SO GET OVER IT. It is a decent hotel, one of the least expensive in town, and definitely worth what we paid. PROS: The breakfast: more than just "grab and go." It was scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal/milk, bagels, toast, yogurt, juices, tea, coffee and more. It was buffet style and the staff were on top of refilling food and cleaning tables promptly. The pool: clean, clear, WARM! Very chlorinated-expect red eyes. The rooms: clean, comfortable, pretty much like any other middle of the road hotel. WiFi is free and worked better than cell service in this mountainous area. Tv was new, fridge and hairdryer were standard. Pretty quiet as well. The staff: awesome. The price: terrific. THE CONS: It was a little nerve wracking going up and down the hill to the hotel in the snow (December). They plow, but I'm not sure they salted the road, it seemed icy. We made it fine even though we were in a Ford Fusion and a small light Honda Fit. Yes, the key cards reset and locked us out even though we were booked for 2 days. Guy behind us in line in the lobby was having the same problem. I would suggest to the management, that since they clearly know this is a problem, just tell people when they check in that they could have a problem with this and apologize ahead of time and say that you are working in the problem. The rooms: as stated, clean, but a weird white grainy powder on the top of the bedspread. It was sort of like when you use too much powdered laundry soap and it doesn't rinse out all the way--or maybe the maids sprinkled carpet powder before they left and it overshot onto the bed--I have no idea. It was not IN the bed sheets, so we just shook it off the top and got over it. Then when we unfolded the sofa bed and just re-folded it back up, we noticed that a french fry fell out and there were also a few crumbs on top of the outer blanket in the sofa bed. Again, inside the sheets were clean. Minor, but annoying. Plumbing: toilets were a little slow. One shower (we had adjoining rooms) would not shut off completely and ran a medium stream all night. We felt horrible about all the wasted water, but it was really late and kids were asleep, so we didn't call the desk. :( Structure: I would suspect they have been trying to update and remodel. Room seemed newly painted, but certainly not a perfect paint job (paint on lamps, blotches here and there of dark paint we at first thought was blood, an unpainted water spot above the shower, etc). One old tiny elevator working (and one broken)-- IT REALLY WAS NOT A BIG ISSUE OR PROBLEM. Room heaters were a bit inefficient and inconsistent, but not terrible. Some of the the double-pane windows have become unsealed, so foggy and difficult to see outside. OVERALL: pretty decent for the low cost. No, it is maybe not like a sandals resort, but come on people, look at the room price. Never once saw a bug. Staff was great and extremely accommodating. They seem to be really trying to get the place looking better. It wasn't the Ritz, but it wasn't a roach motel either. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN. read more

We booked a family suite and a room with 2 queens beds, first thing the place smells. as we walked to our rooms the hallways smell badly, dirty windows all over. the family suite was awful, had sheets from 18 century, smelled bad, AC didn't work the way it should, not enough towels or sheet, room didn't feel clean at all, we had to turn the AC on because it was off, it's a room for up to 6 people and had no extra blankets and only 2 towels and 1 extra pillow. the key to the upper room didn't work, we had it changed 2 times then they told us only the master key works on the upstairs room which is on the 4th floor. the other single room double bed, Nasty. There seems to be stains which looked like blood on the wall and on the lamp inside and out of the lamp, Sheets dirty and it smells. we tried another room and it was worse, Sheets had stains, really bad. it seems like lemonade or urine. the Gym, not a gym, one of the exit signs had no cover so you really can't tell its an exit. I mean the place is filthy not recommendable to anyone who wants a decent place. they did accommodate us trying to change our room and unfornately the rooms was worst. we cancelled the room right there and they did give us a refund, no issues there. This place is so gross we left and never stayed out the first night The front desk guy told us it wasn't his job to change the sheets. He told us he didn't care about the cleanliness of our stay and that it wasn't a resort like the Hilton. I told my husband they had an eviction sign on one of the room doors and I knew right then and there this was a flop house for vagrants. Then found a bed bug in my daughter's bed before they even got in it. They ruined our weekend vacation. My husband and I had a Jacuzzi room. When you turned on the water in the bathroom and Jacuzzi it was brown and the bottom of the Jacuzzi when running the water had sludge that coated the Jacuzzi floor. We found month old food in our mini fridge and when checking our bed we pulled back.the sheets to find long hairs everywhere. We brought down the front desk guy after he told my husband he was lying about our room and showed him blamed it on old pipes which was bullshit my kids room didn't have brown crap coming from their bathtub. The ceiling tiles in their room though were old sagging, water stained and moldy. The place had trash all over the place literally if they call this place a resort maybe in some shitty third world country. Not to mention when we pulled up in the parking lot we were the only car there until we left after four hours of being there. This shit hole needs to be Condemned and torn down to the ground !!! This was the most disgusting place i think i have ever stayed . Yes the price was okay for the stay but the pictures made it look like a well respected place and it indeed was not. It was dirty and run down and i was scared to walk the halls alone . The room itself wasnt what we had expected but it wasnt to bad. The hot and cold in the shower was backwards. The sink didnt drain. The pool needed cleaned , the sauna in the pool area didnt work. The game room half the arcade games didn't work and just kept eating my money so definitely not worth the waste on that one. They hesitated to give us the money we lost back. The best thing about the stay had to have been the restaurant staff they were amazing they gave us time to get food before they closed even though we were late. The restrooms outside the rooms were the nastiest things i have ever seen. They werent clean and there was no toilet paper. I got locked the stall and couldnt even get out . The elevator wouldnt go to the second floor so you had to take the stairs . So we had to carry everything up and down the stairs . When we first got on it we hit two and it took is to 3 skipped the second floor entirely. Overall i wouldnt stay here again , unless it was my absolute last resort. They have alot of things that need to be fixed before that would happen again. Im not sure how its still open honestly. This was by far one of my worst hotel experiences. I travel often for work and know what should be expected when staying at a hotel/ resort and this location fell short on all levels. The breakfast in the morning was serving old Waffles with mold spots and eggs that looked days old. My room was never cleaned during my 6 day stay no matter how many times I would nicely ask them to clean my room. There was black mold growing all over the ceiling in the bathroom. Almost every day in my room I would spot a cockroach running across the floor which clearly means this place is filthy. The curtains on the windows were tattered and falling apart with holes all over. In the hall way the fire alarms were hanging by wires from the ceiling and clearly non functioning which is an extreme fire hazard. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This is an old and run down hotel. Not sure why they call it a resort. My experience at the property suggested a lack of maintenance and upkeep. In my room, the pipes leaked onto the floor, the toilet wouldn't flush, the towel bar in the bathroom was broken, half of the window curtains wouldn't open, the windows were fogged over from age, the furniture's finish was peeling off, and the dead bolt did not work. On top of that, when I ran the hot water, it came out yellowish brown. The room did not seem to be clean. There was women's hair all over the shower and in the towels, and the mirror and windows didn't seem to have been cleaned in ages. I was amazed by how the common areas of the property also suffered- the one working elevator seemed to be a relic from the 1970s with multiple buttons that did not light up, a door that didn't close the first time, and a strange "jump" sensation when arriving on an upper floor. Not to mention that the wallpaper in the common areas seemed to be so old that it was re-attached using a staple gun. Guessing this hotel has been through multiple identities, the emergency card on the back of the door said Ramada - and the key cards were from Comfort Inn. Do not stay here. I repeat, avoid this place at all costs. My daughter and I stayed here during a ski trip because it had an indoor heated pool. Here are all the terrible things about this place: 1) we went an entire day with no running water in the room. When I called the front desk to find out the problem the man working the desk could not even talk to me because a few guests were there complaining about the same problem. 2) the area where the pool is was freezing. They brought it a replacement which still did not work. They said it was in the lines. Offer no consolation. Pool was like a giant hot tub, not enjoyable. Cigarette butts under the bench in the sauna. People smoking in stairwells, nothing done about it. Game room had 2 of 4 games out of order, broken air hockey and 4 balls missing from the pool table. The other half of the game room was a workshop with paint cans, broken furniture, etc. Bucket in hall catching rain drops. Bucket of bleach sitting by itself in the middle of the elevator. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, checked out after 1. This property was booked for two nights (July 8 & 9th) for myself, my son and his wife for after we went white water rafting. Upon arriving we immediately noticed approximately 30 people sitting around looking unhappy. We noticed most of the rooms from their windows displayed shredded and dilapidated curtains, and severely overflowing trash cans outside. We did not feel this was a safe facility and it was not as it presented itself on their website DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THEIR OLD PICTURES ONLINE. I notified the hotel we would not be staying due this fact. I tried working with this hotel for a refund to no avail. They would not give us our money back. They were booked through Hotel.com who would only give $40.00 to each of us couples. I also tried working with their live agents on their website 5 numerous times on 9/19 to which they disconnected. Expedia is a partners of theirs and they just default to Hotel.com It is not right that a business can keep $441.12 for no services render and false advertising. No breakfast included, pool hot tub and big arcade were all closed down, restaurant closed indefinitely, bar only open Friday and Saturday night from 4:00 to 11:00, first floor hallway had no lights and they were doing construction with open ceiling tiles. The room had no battery in the smoke detector and the phone was broken. The sink was broken but there was hot water. The sheets in bed were clean but the the view was horrible. It looked like a dumpster had tipped over and there was trash everywhere outside the window. We were supposed to get one night comped possibly two, but they charged my credit card for both nights. So called hotel room: dusty asf, if you look at the headboards closely, it's bad. Towels looked USED, it was brown asf and had dead flies. Reason why I went to guest service was not to complain about the creepy guy but because there was NO RUNNING WATER! How the heck you gonna shower?! Guy up front said 15 min apparently people complaining up front desk said it's been hours and he keeps saying 15 minutes. Noise in the room: wasn't bad during my sleep at all but morning outside is another story, they were mowing the lawn at 7:30 am! Mowing!! I woke up to that.. Smells like cigarettes. As soon as you walked in the room, the smell of moisture hits you in the face. The back wall is all window. The ceiling has black mold spots all around the window. My family went to the arcade and the arcade was half shut down and none of the machines worked. Also when we where in there the roof was leaking and there were puddles everywhere. Got a jacuzzi room for my wife and I. Water ran with brown chunks coming from the jets. I asked for maintenance to come check it out and the front desk told me it was due to "well water", which I know from experience is not the case. Room looked like it had not been cleaned over the course of many stays. Grounds were unkept and outside looked shady at best. Inside had clearly not been updated since the 80s when the Poconos was actually a nice place to be. The bar tender was very nice but the front desk staff was less than friendly. Pool looked disgusting, I wouldn't even put a foot in it. Nasty place overall. Do not stay here. There are plenty of chain hotels in the area I'm sure have to be way nicer than this dump. STAY AWAY... CAN I GIVE NEGATIVE STARS? We booked four king rooms with jacuzzi two months ago. Confirmed the evening before. Check in was for 3:30, we got their at 5PM, Told the rooms were not ready as well as some of the Jacuzzi's were not in working order. When we got upset, the comment we were given is "this isn't the Hilton or Holiday Inn, you know" Waited a short period while Fred, "tricked" the computer so that we would have rooms. One room, no Jacuzzi at all two rooms, Jacuzzi did not work last room, afraid to use Jacuzzi considering the cleanliness of the bathroom. Two rooms, needed to call to have bathrooms cleaned. One couple needed to sleep without top sheet....TO STAINED TO USE We were certainly not the only people upset with the condition of the place. This was an awful awful horrible experience... we checked in to a supposedly cleaned room, there were at least 40 dead lady bugs on the window sill.... there was used soap and used shampoo and used conditioner in the showers.... the ceiling once leaked and there is a giant stain and paint on the walls peeling due to it. We had to have the bedding changed before we even slept in them because they were filthy and stained. If I had another place to go I would of left and paid more money to stay somewhere else.... for $200 a night I would of expected a much nicer room. The guy at the front desk was ignorant. Honestly, this place was so disastrous that it actually made us all laugh on our stay here. It seemed almost impossible that so many things could go wrong. First of all, check in was supposed to be at 3pm. We get there at around 5 or 6pm and one of the rooms was not ready. While we had booked a room with 2 beds, they wanted to give us one that had a pull out couch and a king bed. Eventually, they were able to locate a room for us with the right amount of beds. The rooms were decent, not much lighting but nothing truly horrible. The bathroom had some mold in the bathtub which was not pleasant to see. When we decided to take a shower, the shower did not work. There were no vending machines on our floor, and all the other vending machines had all the water "sold out" or were just completely out of order. The only water fountain that we found did not work. When we go to the measly little bar, the bartender gave us tiny cups with mostly ice. Had to literally tell her to give us a bigger cup. They had a pool table in the lounge area, which we decided would be fun to play for a bit. We put in the coins and it takes our money, but it doesn't work. Had to call someone to come help and it didn't even fix the pool table. The roof at the bar was leaking water all over the place. All in all, definitely do not recommend. They charge resort prices but are no where near being considered a resort. To top it all off, the elevator did not even work properly. read more

We booked a stay here for one night (thank God it was just one night). The place is completely run down, smells and everything is dirty. Pool is closed and looks like it was a septic at one point. Horrible beds and bedding that looks like it hasn't been cleaned properly. The air conditioning works in that it makes a very loud noise that kind of distracts you from how hot it is. Paint is peeling in all the rooms, water stains on ceiling. Entire place feels like something out of a horror movie. You would be better off sleeping in your car. read more

If you are looking for a place to stay the night that is very dirty, has a musty smell (windows do not open!) people outside with screaming kids while all smoking pot (I think I got a contact high leaving the pool room), no restaurant or bar open on weekends (like advertised) the pool room has garbage all over and wifi was sketchy, elevator doesn't work, coffee bar was broke as well and old coffee chunks all over, drunks stumbling all around the hotel (I mean wasted drunk!!) and a place that is all around gross, this is the place to stay. Sooooooooo here goes nothing..... Like I legit don't even know where to start. I felt like I was in a B rated horror movie. I'll start off with the most important advice, DON'T GO HERE!!!! I booked a night here through their website which didn't look bad. It was kind of spontaneous, I booked on a Thursday for Saturday night. My husband and I just wanted a night away, we love lake Harmony, most places require a minimum two night stay and this place did not so it seemed like a good plan. I Read the reviews the day after booking, but thought we were just staying for a night, we had dinner reservations in Split Rock, we weren't going to be in the 'resort' the entire time, how bad could it be? LMAO silly me. The place was extremely rundown and smelled like stale cigarettes. There's a sign that said pardon our appearance we are under renovation. I don't believe they're under renovation, I just think the signs there because they must think people are idiots there was no sign of any renovations being done in that crap hole. When we entered the room I thought it wasn't too bad, then I noticed all the stains all over everything, the stained ceiling, the bar where you hang your clothes was broken and hanging with nails sticking out of it. But still I thought it's just one night, so we ventured off to the pool where girls we are running around in thong see-through bathing suits (ummmmm ladies if you're going to do that maybe you should trim your hairy bush- NASTY) Making Twerk videos. Ratchet as all hell. The pool was all moldy on the sides and the ceiling was dirty AF. Sauna was decent. So obviously we didn't stay long and ventured back to our room where we couldn't even hear ourselves speak the music from the room next-door was blaring so loud I couldn't even believe it. It was then my husband noticed that the shower didn't work! It was a blessing in disguise because we knew this was our out! There was a bunch of insanity in between all this but nobody has time to read all that it would be an entire chapter of a book. It was a rough crowd to say the very least. The only positive thing I have to say is that that getting refunded was the easiest thing ever and the gentleman was very nice, I think they are just so used to people leaving the second they arrive. This place is not ideal but for the price it's not bad if your planning to do things in the area and not the hotel. The hotel does have a pool and decent bar so that's good but the fitness room is kind of a joke only having 3 machines and 4 dumbells. This hotel should be condemned. We stayed one night after some heavy rains. The roof was leaking severely in countless areas, including the pool and kitchen area the pool was open and they cooked breakfast in the leaky kitchen. The hotel smelled of mold and mildew. The roof was visibly in disrepair. The breakfast area was barely dim, quite dark. I did not trust it enough to eat. The night clerk was kind. The day clerk was making excuses why there was no coffee in the breakfast room and said he did not know how to set it up. The restaurant and lounge advertised neglected to list that it is only open on the weekends. The grounds are lovely, but frankly the property looks like a write off.
