Looking to finally upgrade my ski boots after 15yrs (yea, I know that is about 2x longer than I should have been skiing on them). Podium in Frisco was recommended by several friends - just Wow. The ski boot selection is completely over the top. There must have been 30 different kinds of boots to choose from (total for both men's and women's). The team there (Reilly and John) treated us like royalty and did everything necessary to make sure we (i) got the boots that fit our feet (my wife has pretty unique feet), and (ii) boots that fit our ski-ability. The boots were molded to our feet, heels, etc. and she got a heating unit - pretty sick!! The price for what we got was super reasonable - I checked on the web while sitting at the shop and Podium was ~20% cheaper than what I found from virtually every online store for the boots I bought. I skied on them the next day and it was INSANE how much more comfortable I was and how much more control I had skiing. Yes, I said "comfort" and "ski boots" in the same sentence, crazy. For anyone buying boots or any ski gear (I also bought a new helmet), I highly recommend Podium. (I gather they do mountain bike and other cycling gear in the spring/summer) read more

I bought a used Mtn. Bike from Podium Sports shop, which belonged to an employee. It was advertised as in excellent condition with some upgrades and original parts. After test-riding it, the shifting was out of wack right away, but the Podium manager, Paul, said to come back later and he will fix it. After the first ride, I noticed the rims were banged up pretty bad and had been touched up to conceal it, the rear shock started to leak oil, and the drive train was substantially used. I began to look closer and noticed the dropper post had been replaced with an inferior one. This broke the camel's back. The bike was nowhere in excellent condition as advertised. I contacted the Podium employee John Spriggs the bike belonged to, and he said that the bike is my problem now. I contacted Podium manager Paul, who nicely explained that the used bikes could have problems, I was risking buying a used bike, and that they will not do anything about it. I did not expect to get a cat in the bag from the bike shop. There are another ten bike shops within a five-block radius. I would advise you to check them out first, before risking getting scammed by Podium Sports employees. read more

Haven't come across a bike shop so unhappy to help out. Needed a hex wrench to fix my bike seat. Met a grumpy mechanic who snarked, "you know, it's not customary to come into a mechanic's place and borrow tools." Every bike place free ever been in has been more than happy to help riders get back on the road. I've never seen any bike mechanic's place begrudge the simple use of a tool. read more

Horrible business tiny dirty retail shop with dusty and seasons old apparel not a single person was knowledgeable about anything and when I asked to try ski boots on they acted like I was bothering them. In today's economy how does a tiny poorly run shop like this exist their rent is more than they make in revenue don't trust this terrible business. Great place to rent bikes in Frisco, Co. Very friendly and accommodating. Helpful information on bikes and what to do on them in the area. We rented four bikes for multiple days. Times were flexible (very nice with two teens). Prices were fair and reasonable. Service was excellent. They set us up, taught us what we needed to know and got us on our way. Great fun. If you want to rent bikes in Frisco, I recommend giving Podium Sports a try. Just east of 7th Ave and South of Main, behind Abby's coffee shop. read more

I live in Boulder, which, arguably, has some of the best bike shops in the country, but I bring my bikes down to Podium when I need service or need to buy anything bike-related. This shop does not have "beginner" bikes or low end stuff. However, they have some great buyers who know their market - bike and ski racers/enthusiasts. They also carry some super cute women's casual clothes - I always end up walking out of that store with random additions to my wardrobe... The service is amazing - their owners/staff are super knowledgeable and psyched about the bikes and products they carry. The other day I was in the shop to drop off a bike and was asking them why they didn't carry snowboards - the response from one of the owners was "well, we don't really have anyone who knows about snowboards. We only carry stuff we can speak to". I definitely feel that is the philosophy this shop practices. They also have a geat no-drop sunday ride which attracts everyone from ex-pros who live in the county to tourists on hybrids - if you are in summit during the summer with nothing to do on a sunday morning, definitely consider their low key, super fun group ride. read more

Wow! Great service. I brought my mtn bike in bc it was creaking a lot. I've been living with it for a year Because it was hard to tell where exactly it was coming from. Took it to Christy Sports in frisco first and they just blew me off. Told me it was normal and I should just live with it. I decided to take it to podium for a second opinion. Glad I did! The guy at podium sports fixed it in less than two minutes. Thank you! Now my bike rides so quiet. I'll be coming back here for all my bike service needs in the future. After purchasing a pair of new boots in Denver and trying them out on the slopes of Breckenridge for a couple of days, my toes were killing me (toe bang). As a result, I hit up Podium Sports to help me address my "boot issues"... Their staff was unbelievably knowledgeable and helped me resolve the problem in no time by fitting me with some new insoles and by putting in some "heal raisers". Best $50 spent in CO! read more

I heard about Podium's tune shop through a friend that said this place is ran by the former US Ski Team Tech., and after I had my skis tuned there it was evident. I have never had such a solid full tune on my skis. They were very friendly and explained what they did on the tune. Jared was amazing. We had a new board from Donek that needed tuning and as many waxing cycles as we could get before USASA Nor Am 2017 (we were 5 days away from comp). My 12 year old son was competing in his first nationals and we were guided to Jared at Podium by our contacts in Denver. They were awesome. They tuned our board, gave us some edcuation on wax, waxing, race tuning and snow condtions in CO. Really helped us get ready. Since that we have spoken again and Jared shared more info on training and seasons in the area. We really appreciate all the extra attention and shared knowledge. Brought in a pair of skis after being poorly tuned by another shop. Got expert advice and two core shots miraculously repaired. After an awesome early season with sneaky rocks, needed a midseason tune. Came in on the night of the super moon, close to closing, greeted with a smile. Brian is a great bootfitter. They carry Full Tilt boots which are only carried by a couple other shops in Colorado. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this shop to any skier. read more

I guess these guys just care about biking because their customer service with ski equipment is horrible. We bought a few ski things there - 2 ski goggles, apparel, gloves, etc. After 3 times using a pair of POC goggles, the lens started losing their mirror protective coating. We took them in to see if we could get a replacement lens or even a new pair. We were told that we were out if luck. They did nothing to help us but say that's the problem with POC goggles. It will definitely be the last visit to this store. There are many more stores in Summit County with better service and stand behind their equipment, especially after only 3 days using the goggles. read more

I'll be racing the Leadville Trail 100 MTB race next weekend and I had to have someone figure out what was wrong with my front brakes. While driving with my wheel off in the car, my 4 year old started yanking on the lever and screwed it up. I was desperate, but wanted to make sure someone could set it up right. I caught them right before closing and chatted with them. They asked me to drop off in the morning and while there I gave them a list of stuff to check/tweak/etc. The mechanic knew his stuff (and I know a little so I can assess this), and had the bike set up in a day. It was clear he was taking his time and doing a good job. They did a full tune up, including truing the wheels, plus all my other requests and it cost $100, which is not too bad. I'm quite pumped now and more relaxed knowing my bike is 100%. I've since put it back in the car with the brake levers as far away from my 4 year old as possible! read more

I took my bike in for a tune after seeing their website and being impressed by its tone and promise to wash it after the work was done. I got a call from the mechanic who told me it needed a new chain, and would I like to have it replaced. I said no. The chain was two months old and not in need of replacement. By the way, when I picked up the bike it was as dirty as when I dropped it off. What I really worry about is the effort to sell me an unneeded chain. I would urge caution. read more

Don't look any further if you are looking for ski/board tuning, wax etc. Jared and his team are indeed giving world class tuning as per their signage on their glass main door. Behind the store is another shop impeccably maintained, fully dedicated to ski/board tuning. Why World Class : Jared is an expert for having been none other than the US Ski team technician for years and continued to provide his services to world class athletes. I first came in looking to buy wax for my 12 year old son who is competing in the USASA SNowboarding Nationals. Jared took time to ask all pertinent questions as to get the best results sought, when the comps were to better select the temp specific wax, steered me away from a wax out of my son's league (age & skills) which would have been a higher $ell but not necessarily good for my son's results. It is a treat to talk to an expert who shares his knowledge without ego. I came out of the store knowing a lot more, trusting that the investment in good wax was so very worth it. It got confirmed the first minute the board touched the snow. My skis have now also been tuned. We are set. Wished we had encountered Jared and his Podium team 3 years ago when we first came to Frisco from San Francisco. We might have to send in our equipment on an annual basis from now on after such world class service! read more
