Norski's advertised "Adult Demo Package" is deceptive. It includes kids' newer skis, not just adult models. I was given junior skis in my "adult" demo, wasting my time and money and the shop's excuse was that it was just part of their package. This is unacceptable and feels like false advertising. If you want to demo adult skis, go elsewhere. Don't be fooled by this bait-and-switch tactic. read more

Came across this shop because they're a Specialized dealer, and I needed to have my brand new Diverge shipped to a Specialized dealer in the area. Talked to Matt to arrange this slightly unusual transaction - and he was totally cool with it. My bike was supposed to arrive one week before me, so Matt and his guys were going to have a week to build it (charging literally 40% of what it would have cost me in the SF Bay Area). Well, FedEx delayed shipping by one week, so my unbuilt bike and I arrived the same day. No problem, Matt's guys had the bike built the next morning. And the bike was great. Came in for a few more adjustments (it's a new bike) - and they were super helpful, knowledgeable, and still reasonably priced. I also really appreciated once or twice when I asked them for something, they told me it was outside their expertise, instead of making things up (those things all had to do with road bike fit). When the time came for me to head home, I was able to leave my Diverge with Matt and his guys again. I wasn't sure whether I'd get to go back to CO or not right away, and Matt was totally cool to hang on to the bike until I figured out what I'm doing. Sadly, I couldn't come back to CO right away, and missed my Diverge, so Matt had the bike packed and shipped literally within hours of me asking him to do so. Billing me, once again, 40% of what it would have cost in the Bay. So in summary - great guys, great shop, super professional, super accommodating, with fantastically reasonable prices. And they rent beautiful Yeti's and e-bikes. You should definitely check them out. read more

I made a reservation online. I walked right in, told them I wanted to try the Volkl Mantra M6, and was offered a 177 cm pair of skis, which I accepted. Very friendly vibe. The binding was adjusted and the DIN set very efficiently. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. With tax and insurance, I paid under $50. Unlike a neighboring store, they didn't assume that because I was renting, I needed to be dissuaded from getting the ski I wanted. I often rent when traveling because of the convenience of not having to lug skis through the airport and often getting them back damaged to boot. I own a pair of M5s from four or five years ago, but hadn't tried the M6s. Fantastic ski--and they seemed to be tuned, because they held very well on ice (more than I can say for a neighboring shop that charged me 50% more and gave me an old, beat-up, detuned ski). Very responsive and "snappy" on all types of terrain, yet a very "damp" ski--no unwanted chattering. This ski is a beast. read more

They set me up with an awesome pair of double tipped skis that were so fun for the 2 days I used them. My boots were giving me ankle troubles the first day, and they helped me swap them out for a pair that fixed all my issues on day 2! Appalled with the customer service. I walked in an open door to see if they had child sized bike helmets, and the person at the desk today said "We're closed. Come back tomorrow." I said, " Ok, but do you carry small sized helmets, so I know if I should come back." And he brushed me off, offered zero help, and was incredibly rude. I asked what time they closed, and was told 5. The door was open when I walked in, and had left by 5:03. What would have been a good way to handle the situation: Me: "Hi! Do you have child sized bike helmets." Clerk: "I'm sorry, we are closing now. But we do carrying child sizes from age "x" to "x." And they cost around "$xx dollars." Is that what you are looking for?" Great place to get skis! The family loved the fun energetic staff! There was even a dog that created a happy atmosphere. I really felt like a local again. I used to live here a few years back. The shop is close to the gondola slops so it was perfect. I was not able to get the discount online so they were kind enough to just help me out in the store and apply the discount then. Thanks so much to an employee at the gift shop in Lakeside that told me about this store renting out ski pants! I was not given this information by anyone else at any of the other ski attire/equipment stores. My daughter had a full-day ski lesson and I wanted to make sure she was equipped with the proper attire to be out on the mountain for several hours. Her and I arrived early in the morning, pretty much at the exact minute they opened (8am). We were greeted and assisted immediately. The staff was so nice. They had kids sizes for their ski pants/overalls. She tried on in the dressing room and soon after we were out of there. It all took about 10 minutes and we were able to make it to her lesson. We rented the pants for 2 full days @ $20/day and had to get back by 9pm (their close time). It was totally worth it for the 2 days that she skied. Thankfully, we were staying at the River Run Village, so this made the pick-up & drop-off process a lot easier. This is located in River Run, just in the back and to the right of Keystone Sports. Even returning was a breeze. They just looked up my name and cleared us on the return. So, if you are looking for equipment and clothing rental during your stay, come here! read more

Ended up with performance skis that were in excellent condition. Boots fit well as did the helmet. There are small lockers where you can leave things while you ski. We rented downhill mountain bikes from Norski. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We actually had several mechanical issues with flat tires and brake problems. Not the shops fault at all. Each time they immediately took care of the issue and gots us back riding as quickly as possible. I would highly recommend them for your winter or summer gear. read more

I went skiing this past weekend with 11 of my friends, 9 of which, bought a groupon for ski/snowboard rentals from Norski Sports. First off, there's only 15 minute parking directly in front of the store. There are like 4 spots. Don't try to park off to the side of the store. Apparently it's some old lady's driveway. One of my friends commented that she looked like the female version of Carl from "Up". He was spot on. So getting rentals should take longer than 15 minutes so we looked for other places to park. Nope, not down the street, or up the street that dies into it either. You can't even get into the parking lot to park, since it's separated from the area you're in. We finally just decided that I'd sit in the car and keep it company so it couldn't be towed. They all go inside and punch in their information on the computers. They get fitted for boots and then for their boards or skis. Helmets come next and then they finish their rentals so they can take them home. The whole process for all of them took about 45 minutes which isn't particularly bad. One of my friends got his boots and they just didn't feel right, so the guy gave him another pair to try on. My friend: "This feels a *lot* better." Norski employee: "I've been doing this for a long time." It was a little cocky but I suppose the result justifies it. For those of you who are allergic to dogs, be careful as they have a dog that came out and greeted everyone. He/she was super cute and very friendly. Returning the rentals was even easier, as it should be. Just go in with your gear and out you come. Easy Peasy. If I didn't own my own gear, I would have rented from them. I did inquire about a full tune for my snowboard. They said a base grind was $38 and a full tune was $48. I suppose a full tune is in order since I've never had one and I've had my board for at least 8 years now. I didn't have the time for them to tune it, otherwise I should have let them. read more

Extremely poor customer service. Keystone sports was unable to sell brake pads to me so I was directed to this shop. They sold me brake pads but did not check to see if they were correct, even though I told them the specific name of what I needed. They brushed me off and said that the company had changed the name of the brake pads and that I did in fact have the correct brake pads. They then told me that I was not their priority, and that they would not fix my brake pads in a timely manner if they had other customers to attend to, even though I had been there first. With no guarantee on repair time, I took my bike with the newly purchased brake pads back to Keystone sports where they told me that I had been sold incorrect brake pads. I then went back to Norski to exchange for the proper product and was met with extremely rude staff who were unwilling and unable to help me. They still tried to insist that the brake pads were correct even though they were obviously wrong and then I asked for a refund and they continued to be extremely rude. I am A mountain biker and have been for years, and have experienced many bike shops. Never have I been treated so rudely. Skip this shop and head over to Keystone sports for a much more pleasant and knowledgeable experience. read more

Convenient location, a good place to rent bikes from if you want to pick up something right in the Village. No demos, but plenty of rental selections from cruisers to mountain bikes to full suspension downhillers. There was only one person in the store, but he was multi tasking and taking care of a couple of parties at the same time. I was in and out faster than when I'd gone to the other bike rental place in River Run. Rental price includes a helmet, even though they don't advertise it. I'd definitely return if I need a bike again. read more

Forgot to bring our bike helmets and bike gloves up to Keystone. Visited 2 bike stores and Norski personnel blew the competition away. They were so friendly and accommodating even though we did not have advanced computer "reservations". They worked with us and and gave us a fair deal. We will be recommending this place of business to all we know on the front range. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. Did not feel the tourist gouge here only friendly and hard working staff! We visited this past summer (June 2015) for the first time in CO, and found this place to be a great resource for renting mountain bikes to use on the ski hills.
