Welcoming vibe from the second I walked in. Even with a line, the staff was vibrant, kind, and fast -- I had my latte in hand in seconds. And not just any latte. After a delayed flight, this cup erased all signs of jet lag and gave me life. I almost didn't want to drink it because the design was so pretty Cute interior, solid snack + drink selection, and good energy all around. 10/10 would caffeinate here again.

Cute coffee shop with a funky vibe. Perfect spot to grab a coffee and sit awhile. The barista was super kind and made an amazing caramel cortado. It kept me going all morning. We are staying in the hotel and looking forward to tomorrow's brew!

    Cappuccino and raspberry crossiant

Solid coffee spot on the corner! Not much parking but nice and walkable in the university district. See specifics below: Coffee: Good oat cappuccino, prices reasonable Breakfast: Bacon Egg Cheese sandwich (not pictured) was delicious and the Raspberry crossiant was flaky and sweet Working environment: Great natural lighting in the front and a whole quiet area in the back (outlets included) that connects to the lobby of the Graduate Hotel. I recommended working in the bay window-esque corner! Bathroom: Need a code from the barista but it's a public restroom accessed down the stairs

The best breakfast sandwiches in the city, awesome Olympia coffee, great service, and posh, reslaxing, and spacious café.

    Hot Cocoa

Came here for a hot cocoa and it was amazing! It was super creamy and thick which I love, and was not overly sweet. The latte art was nice too, and the place has a nice, slightly upscale vibe. It's a good place to study! The servers are really nice and even though it is slow, the quality is very good so it is worth the wait!

Vanilla latte and Breakfast Sausage sandwich

Would definitely go again! The baristas were friendly and nice. The sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich was great, I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. It was a little greasy but it's from the crispy cheese and sausage. The warm vanilla latte I got had a toasty vanilla flavor, perfect amount of sweetness, and a smooth coffee taste. The inside is aesthetic and there is a great level of detail in the interior design. There's plenty of seating for working or studying but there's not a lot of outlets. It's connected to a cool hotel lobby too.

    Matcha

I liked my matcha a lot more than I expected to. It was very much a traditional matcha and not the oversweetened or pre-packaged stuff that some cafes seem to do now. The barista was super friendly and helpful too - they were very knowledgeable about the matcha and other drinks I asked about when deciding on a beverage. They were also very efficient and did a cute little latte art for me. The ambiance was casual and modern. It's adjacent to a hotel or apartment lobby but also looks like a popular space for people to study or work a bit since it's close to campus. I'd come back for the matcha again.

    Sausage,egg and cheese... amazing.

I frequented Poindexter Coffee during my six days in Seattle to officiate my goddaughter's wedding and have a short vacation. Located on the first floor of Graduate Hotel, a 16-story art deco hotel in the University District, Poindexter does a fairly steady business primarily due to its relationship with Graduate and because of being near the University of Washington. You can access Poindexter from inside the hotel IF you can walk down a step that connects the coffeeshop with the hotel (right next to the front desk). Otherwise, you'll need to use the sidewalk entrance off of Brooklyn Avenue. It is accessible and level to the ground (or as level as anything gets in Seattle). Poindexter has a fairly small menu primarily consisting of coffee and tea options, a variety of pastries, and a breakfast menu primarily consisting of breakfast sandwiches and a handful of other items. They were offering dine-in with well-spaced tables. It's my understanding they typically offer a couple of video games, though I never saw them and they may have been set aside due to the pandemic. I actually never tried the coffee (which I've heard mixed things about). It's Verve Coffee. I drank iced tea each morning. I tried a sausage/egg/cheese sandwich - it's a behemoth and beautifully executed. It's easily one of the best that I've tried of this type of sandwich. I also tried a couple of their pastries including delicious hazelnut brownies and a couple others. Every employee I met was friendly and helpful. The space is warm and inviting. The hotel is dog friendly and it's not uncommon to see dogs inside the Poindexter. Seattle is pretty eco-friendly in general and nearly everything here is recyclable, compostable, or otherwise good for the environment. I appreciated balance, however. As a spastic paraplegic, I typically do use a straw and appreciate having an option here while also recognizing some shy away from straws due to their impact on the environment. The prices are typical "hotel" prices - this means they're a bit higher than you'll pay most places but not exorbitant. I will note that they don't accept cash - only credit cards. The hotel does have a deal where you can get credits that can be used at the Poindexter. This is one of two dining options connected to the hotel with the other being a rooftop restaurant. Graduate has a study table at the back of its large lobby area - it offers connectivity and plug-in and Poindexter offers some discount options for those studying. As a matter of note, this area is undergoing major renovation and construction and the sidewalk has lots of signage reflecting the street and construction work. Additionally, parking is somewhat limited so this truly is more of a neighborhood coffee joint than a destination spot. However, between the hospitality and the quality food/drink items it's definitely a great option for those in the area. From past photos, I'll also note that the decor is typically somewhat different. They've adapted spacing for the pandemic and it is still aesthetically pleasing but not quite as hipster. They also do offer a variety of bottled and canned items ranging from water to beer to wine to wellness drinks. If/when I'm back in Seattle, I wouldn't hesitate to revisit Poindexter.

The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the cheese was dripping from my sandwich which I loved!!! The coffee was okay nothing special but I would get it again. Both of the people who helped me where super friendly and joyful, so early in the morning on a Sunday morning. The place is very spacious and I love the wall of plants with the cute puppy statues.

Golden Milk facing entrance from hotel lobby

Finally checked this. cute coffee shop out before heading to UW Farmer's Market yesterday. On my first visit to a coffee shop I usually go with a latte to see how the latte art is but the Golden Milk was calling my name that morning. I love that they had a few other tea lattes. The space is cute lots of window and natural light on the south side. Plenty of tables for varied size parties. The main counter is so cool with all the wood pencils. Loved the surprise logo at the bottom of the mug when I finished my beverage. Service was friendly and I received my beverage l, but pretty sure they forgot about my smashedbrowns. I was facing the main counter from my table thought it had taken awhile but being my first time wasn't sure how long it should take. But then saw one of the people behind the counter asking if my order was ever done. No apology for the delay but it was so tasty O couldn't be mad. Tater tots in a waffle iron why has no one else done this? it's nice a crisply all the way around like a gigantic McDonald's hash row. Seasoned with salt and pepper and comes with packs of ketchup and Tabasco

Coffee is a 4, food is a 3. Don't eat breakfast here unless it's just oatmeal or a baked good.

Drinks are great, baristas are super nice, and decor is adorable! My only wish is that they would get for-there cups over 12oz.

Good coffee. Very bad service. Obviously the two servers don't like their jobs. Not a smile or kind greeting from either.

But honestly? The energy worked. The staff was moving with that calm, unbothered flow only seasoned baristas have. Friendly, attentive, and somehow keeping the line moving without making anyone feel rushed. Respect. Light was flooding every corner; that soft Seattle glow that makes you want to pull out your journal and pretend you live inside a cozy indie film. Ventilation was perfect. Temperature was perfect. Seating options? Abundant. And not the awkward wobbly kind either. This spot is built for lingering. I grabbed a latte, sat down, and immediately fell into an art journaling trance. There's something about being surrounded by curated shelves of books and cute little treasures that just unlocks your brain. It's the kind of place where you look up after ten minutes and somehow an hour passed. This was my first visit, but it's already on my list of "places I'll actually come back to and get work done." A rare category, honestly. If you're looking for a café that feels like a creative reset button; this is a great one.

I looked up their yelp page as well as their Instagram and knew I had to come just to get one of their lattes with their amazing foam art! They have a variety of waffles and sandwiches on the menu that seemed appetizing however because I got here after 3:30 the kitchen was closed but they have a variety of pre-made burritos and sandwiches that you could still buy. I love that they have a huge variety of non-dairy milks including soy which is my favorite. I wanted to get the turmeric latte however I mentioned that I couldn't wait to see the foam art and the Baristas told me that due to the light color of the latte, it would be difficult to see the foam art so I instead ordered the red velvet latte with soy and it was as delicious as it was cute! I also got the egg and sausage cheese burrito and it was chock full of eggs and sausage... very filling. The decor and seating options are plentiful upstairs and downstairs. They also have free pineapple infused water for guests to drink which I appreciate. Seems like a popular spot for UW students to do work as there are lots of outlets for their laptops.

I was surprised that the cake was so cheap around $4 but after the first bite, it tasted like it was from a Safeway bakery, which made me feel a bit scammed. It took about 5-7 minutes to get our drinks, and the place was packed around 1:30 pm on a Saturday.
