Great spot right on the water in Point Pleasant. Went here on a Saturday night in the summer at 5:30 with no reservation. Ended up waiting an hour and a half, but once seated, the service was quick and seamless. I think they prioritize reservations outside and walk ins inside so be mindful of that. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp app and the hot lobster roll.

    The fried calamari was excellent

This was a really nice place to go and it gets packed out on summer weekends, prepare for about an hour and a half wait. The food was very good, it is a limited menu compared to some other fish houses. The service was good and it's a very casual vibe. You can sit indoors are out and I would suggest if it happens to be one of those crowded nights you tell them that either one is fine with you because otherwise you might be waiting longer than that. Highly recommend the fried calamari, and the blackened, I believe it was Cajun salmon on a bed of risotto. The baked stuffed clams were barely ok, but not good. I would not order them again. They just did not have a nice flavor, we did not finish those. They clearly don't know how to make those and the flavor was not good at all. We didn't send them back, but there was not a good flavor to them. All in all, we would love to go back and had a great meal and a good time

    Nice open air seating

This is actually my second time here and because I forgot to write a review, I had a hard time finding this place again! There are literally SI many lobster restaurants here in Pt. Pleasant! This review is for both visits. Again, i had the cold lobster roll, which was excellent, (some tiny bits of shell) but this time I tried the lobster bisque. The bisque was different than I expected, but good. Spicier and less creamy than I had hoped. The mojito was excellent. The fries I took issue with, it was a texture thing. The kitchen did re-make them, and were quite pleasant about it. The second batch was better. I don't know about fryers, temperature, humidity, but I don't recall any problem with the fries on my last visit. I tried the coconut cream pie. Good real whipped cream! Always a plus. Crust not crispy (can anything be crispy when the humidity is high?) Staff pleasant and present- even late in the evening.

Every year or so we end up going to Reds Lobster Pot when we are visiting Seaside Park for a couple of beach days with my boyfriend's family. And every time we have a wonderful dining experience. This time Chris, Caitlin at the host stand quickly accommodated our party of 9 people (it grew from 3 to 5 to 9 in the span of four days and they were able to accommodate us with adjusting our reservation a day ahead of time). Our server Allison took care of us and made sure everyone had their drinks refilled constantly. The food has never let me down- me and the bf shared a pot of steamer clams (an NJ hometown fave apparently) and for my main I got the clams with white wine sauce. In the past I've also gotten the lobster bisque, the lobster fra diavalo and the food has always hit right. The covered patio with the perfect sunset in the background was a perfect setting for a nice mini family reunion meal, spanning 4 generations. Thanks Reds for being a constant reliable dining spot for us!

Cute local restaurant whose specialty is lobster. The restaurant is right on the water, and the service is quick and attentive. We made a reservation for seven people and luckily had the option to sit outside. We had the lobster rolls, fish and chips , and lobster. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious! Highly recommend after a long day on the beach or just for a day out. They have parking and we recommend making a reservation to ensure seating.

Red's has now added a bar outside and is no longer a BYOB establishment. Right on the water very quaint. As far as the food goes they are hitting it out of the park with their seafood and pasta dishes. Just take a look at my photos attached, simply mouth watering. Dinner now includes the price of alcohol which drives the overall price up for sure but worth the price of entry for a relaxing seafood dinner on the Jersey shore..

Food, service and atmosphere never disappoints. Hasn't disappointed in the many times visiting. Two excellent dinner meals as a couple and family in May. Make sure you make a reservation. Outside seating is brilliant, on a nice day you have a view of the inlet and all its activity. Service and hosts try to accommodate your requests. Servers are very personable and know the menu. Specials are always good. Steamers are always a go to with a celery broth. The mussels marinara and the Zappa de Pesce were excellent. Miss the BYOB. The recently added bar has a good selection and makes one of the best/ original Pain Killer's. Tasting Just like the ones at the Soggy Dollar; IFYKYK. Looking forward to our next meal before September season close.

First trip to Reds, and won't be the last. Nice waterfront seating with roll up plastic windows which were needed when big storm came in. My wife's flounder francaise was excellent, and my stuffed flounder was great, too. Firm, fresh filets with delicious rice pilaf. However, broccoli was steamed with raw garlic that was a bit biting... though was al dente. Both entrees were delivered hot to the table. The bread to start the meal, curiously, was kinda stale; unfortunate, bc we wanted to dip into the delicious francaise sauce. Our server was efficient but not overly friendly, unlike every other employee that we encountered. Overall, a great restaurant meal for us.

Seating on porch, dockside. Beautiful view of the sunset.

What a great shore restaurant! From the overall welcoming porch with red awnings and signage to the boats parked dockside and sunset seating this is just a great place. We did not have a reservation but that did not seem to be a problem. They were able to seat us right away on the porch. The menu is not large but it is chock full of delicious choices that are focused on fresh seafood. They had a weekly specials menu as well which gave us even more options to try to decide over! We chose the Fried Clams from the regular appetizer menu and a special PEI mussels in a spicy marinara sauce with bacon and potatoes. Sounds odd but wow what a savory, hearty but light dish. The fried clams were crispy and served with lemon and a side of tartar sauce. We also got a side of cocktail sauce too. They were tender and delicious. Even my 10 year old enjoyed them and she doesn't eat seafood unless it's a frozen fish stick. As for entrees my daughter got a classic kids menu option, pasta with butter and cheese which she was very happy with. My husband had the Lobster Ravioli which was in a pink vodka sauce. It was filing but seemed to be a little inconsistent as some of them seemed to have a nice chunk of lobster where others didn't. Seeing that there were only 5 that was a little odd. Overall he enjoyed them and said they were enjoyable! I chose their classic Lobster Roll but opted for the lettuce 'boat' served cold in mayo which was a perfect combination/substitution. Crispy baby romaine leaves cradled a very generous portion of lobster in dressing. I added some Cole slaw and devoured it. The dish came with what seemed like fresh cut French fries. If they were frozen I'd be surprised. Pricing was average for a fresh seaside seafood restaurant. The appetizers were between $15-20 each and entrees ran in the high $20's. The daily lobster special was $44 for a 1.5lbs lobster with corn on the cob and slaw just for reference. Our server Sandy was just a sweet as can be. Obviously a seasoned staff member she was happy to give us time as well as answer questions about the menu. Runners and busers were friendly and added to the enjoyment of the evening. There was no room for dessert although they had a few amazing looking offerings! Maybe next time!

Love this place and it got even better! They added a full bar and even more outdoor seating. This place has the best local seafood and specials. The flat iron steak and bacon wrapped scallops was amazing!

They do not. It's a byob.

No there is no corkage fee.

The crab rangoon was surprisingly good. This appetizer is what made me pick this place. Such a good combination. Didn't need the marinera sauce. Next up soups. Lobster bisque was ok. I guess I was expecting it to be a little more rich. But it was good, it tasted exactly like lobster and I got good chunks in the soup too. Now the shrimp and corn chowder was super flavorful. Favorite dish of the meal. For mains, cold lobster roll and two tails w butter and side salad. Side salad was well dressed and I appreciate the ribbons of Parmesan. The lobster was mostly cooked right. There was one that was a bit chewy. Added salt and butter but felt like something was missing still. I couldn't find a good combo of toppings to go with the lobster. The cold lobster roll was alright. The potato bread added a good sweet flavor that complimented the lobster. Overall a decent meal.

Since it was lunch time we both got the sunset dinner specials which are served from 12:00 - 5:00 pm. Both of our meals came to start with a generous salad (you can also get a bowl of chowder if you aren't interested in salad), soft drink of choice, and dessert. (I got carrot cake and my mom got chocolate cake) The food was extremely fresh and came out very quick. The restaurant itself was also clean and we had a beautiful view of the water with the docked boats. Food - Broiled Jumbo Shrimp - These juicy broiled shrimp were smothered in the most luscious butter sauce. The shrimp itself were very tender and the seasoned butter sauce gave the shrimp an amazing flavor. My meal came with a baked potato that I added some butter too and a side of mixed veggies which were also seasoned nicely. - Coconut Shrimp - These were the most perfect coconut shrimp. Each of the jumbo shrimp were battered in a generous amount of coconut flakes and fried to perfection. These shrimps were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The shrimp paired nicely with the sweet chili sauce on the side. The dish was also served with French fries which were nice and salty.

The atmosphere is nice, the view of lovely boats, etc. The drinks were I would say a step below average, we didn't complain just drank them and did not order seconds (were never asked anyway). I don't think the bar has experienced bartenders so there was no point in asking for a remake on any cocktails. Onto the food and the service: the food was just passable, it was more of what you would get in a diner. This was not all freshly made seafood, this was the type of seafood such as stuffed shrimp that you buy premade in restaurant depot and heat up and they are all perfectly uniform and skimpy. The jumbo shrimp were smaller than what you would serve for cocktail shrimp, and they were all precisely the same. Two people had this at the table. There were seven of us. The lobster tails seemed to be freshly made, chicken seemed to be a reheated premade item like the shrimp and the 2 different salmon orders both seemed likely to be made there. The oysters Rockefeller was so cheesy and very little spinach. I had never had it like that at all and they were too large a size oyster for that particular dish which I order whenever I see it on the menu. This place was recommended as a good seafood house. It's not. Is it edible? Yes. Did we eat everything? Yes, we did. Will we go back? No, thank you. The service person was very nice (sweet), but really should not have been working. She had a bad leg and a really bad hobbling limp and she had laryngitis which made it hard for the table to hear anything she said. It wasn't that she was a bad person it just made it less comfortable of an experience for us. And due to her leg, most likely hurting her we were not asked about a second round of drinks and our waters were not refilled until we asked so the service was OK. Possibly they need more help and they need to be able to pay somebody to stay home when they're not up to working. I blame the restaurant for that, not the waitress. Restaurants see somebody coming in that kind of condition - they should send them home with pay if they value the employee. It does not make for a good experience for either the employee or the customer. That said I have taken pictures of the food and the lovely atmosphere. I do believe that the majority of the food is just reheated from restaurant Depot, which is not necessarily a bad thing but when you pay $35 for stuffed shrimp and you get something that came out of a frozen box it's not exactly a vote for quality. I don't mind the price, I did mind the lower quality and precisely uniform machine made style (also the lack of any crab in the crab stuffing). Chowders were OK, not much of a clam flavor, but the soup was good. The steamers were good. Salads were fine. Dessert was good, actually very good. Everyone had dessert and all the varieties were good.

When we arrived at about 5:40pm the place was packed so it took a few minutes for us to get seated, but no biggie because we didn't make a reservation (if you're here in the beach season, it's a MUST). We got seated in the bar area, but it was right by the window so it was a fantastic seat. Only down side was there was a guy playing music right next to us, but he wasn't super loud so it was fine. Our server, Matthew, was over fairly quickly to take our drink orders. Wifey ordered a Ruby Spritz and I had the French Pear. Both were delicious. For our appetizers my wife started with baked clams and I ordered the Drunk and Angry clams (steamers with lager and cherry peppers) and like the drinks, both were excellent. I was really happy with mine as the level of spiciness was perfect. We also ordered two white sangrias with dinner. Server suggested getting a pitcher if we were going to have more to a one, but we had a bit of a drive and didn't want to chance it. Great job on his part. My wife ordered the Crab Stuffed Flounder - very rich and tasty, but two plates of stuffed food was a little too much. I ordered the Pistachio Crusted Halibut special with jasmine rice, bok choy, and a lemon sauce. WOW it was great. The halibut was ever so slightly overcooked, maybe 60 seconds, but the FLAVOR was amazing. I love bok choy so this dish was a home run. We were too full for dessert, so that was it. We really loved this place and our server, Matthew, was great - friendly and engaging. I would 100% return and try another entree here.

We ordered our drinks and apps and had a wonderfully pleasant waitress, Delores. It was busy the day before Father's Day but the staff was on point with their service and demeanor. The apps: old bay fries, crispy and delicious. Steamers, sweet and succulent. Garlic shrimp, spiced just right with the crunchy shrimp. New England clam chowder, loaded with clam & potato in a creamy base. Dinner: Scallops & linguine in a truffle cream sauce, earthy and delicious. Shrimp& grits with andouille sausage, tasty and spicy. Both hot Lobster roll w butter and cold w/ bruschetta, tender juicy and plentiful. The addition of the tents outside is a great addition. Umbrellas just do not offer enough shade for the whole table. We enjoy our meals and will be back again.

If you are coming later in the season, I would try to reserve. First up -- some nice slices of warm crusty Italian bread and butter. I ordered a cocktail special - the Kelle Belle (or similar) which reminded me of a Pimm's cup. La Portena had her usual Riesling -- no complaints. Lobster bisque was one of the hits, the typical rich broth, with the not so typical actual lobster meat - small bits to be sure, but so often there is no lobster at all. We also shared a lobster roll as a starter - it was good but I would have preferred larger chunks of meat - the roll was accompanied by some tasty tortilla chips. Next up, a complimentary salad - this was fine. I ordered soft shell crabs - they were perfectly fried meaty specimens but the french fries and cole slaw seemed like afterthoughts- the plating was haphazard. La Portena's flounder stuffed with crabmeat was a better plate overall. Two fresh small filets, stuffed with a savory filling and some good mashed potatoes. The glass of New Zealand sauvignon blanc I chose to accompany the crab had the strongest grapefruit nose I have ever experienced. I know these always taste of grapefruit, but this wine was over the top. No room for dessert. Our server was warm and pleasant, and the entire experience transported me back to shore dinners with my parents in the 70s. I would return.
