Had been to other Shore Fresh location near inlet, and enjoyed. Decided to try Bridge Ave location, big mistake. My New England clam chowder arrived COLD, and was chock full of a spice (thyme?) that made it inedible. My wife's hot lobster roll was terrible; instead of having drawn butter, it was full of marinara sauce. Again, almost inedible. We ate outside on a nice evening and the tables were jammed together. Not good. Service was okay, but very slow (waitress apologized for that). On a more positive note, our shared garden salad and my broiled seafood combo were both alright. Truly horrendous. The NE clam chowder was goofy, too peppery and salty, the clams rubbery. The lobster tasted like iodine and not pre cracked and worst of all extremy overcooked. My husband ordered swordfish that was extremly overrated and overcooked. My review will not effect its business so I'm being frank. We usually go elsewhere but my husband wanted to try something new. When the bill came it was $3.00 each for the 1/2 dozen. I questioned it I am at their market 1or 2 times a week ordering fish, am a local and patronize them. And it's not the summer. She checked with the owner and we were told THAT'S THE PRICE! I will drive over the bridge and buy my seafood from now on. The blackened mahi looked great, but was very overcooked. The side of broccoli must have been blanched for 20 seconds because it was still basically raw. Everything inexplicably comes with a side of prepackaged Ken's steakhouse ranch dressing, presumably to dip your fish in which idk, seems disgusting--this isn't Ohio. Popped in during a quiet, sunny winter weekend day to avoid crowds during THE PANDEMIC. Super nice server who was very friendly and helpful. Started with the New England chowder, which I enjoyed. Just wished the potatoes were a bit more cooked - they were not tender and could have been simmering for a bit longer, but overall a nice soup, served hot and fresh with a packet of oyster crackers. For $13, I tried the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised to be given a choice on the type of fish. I went with the cod. The chips (french fries) were excellent, really tasty and fluffy. The food was so reasonably priced and such delicious Lee fresh seafood. We had all kinds of orders of different menu items at our table. And everyone of us enjoyed every meal. It's a BYOB joint and we had wine and good cheer and good friends and great service and great food. I enjoyed the broiled seafood platter even though the crabcakes were a bit over fried, everything else was delicious. We had pasta with shrimp which received high marks. The salads were made of fresh,crisp veggies. The seafood bisque was disappointing. It basically taste like stock with very little cream and even less seafood. Lobster salad on a hot dog roll. Not quite my favorite, but I've never received so much lobster for only $10.99. Not quite sure how they do it!! Overall, we'll be back next season. Asked to speak to manager and showed him all things that were wrong and he decided to discount check. Meanwhile we really haven't seen our waitress ,she never checked up on us! So his final decision is to give us a 10% discount on our check lol which means we got the broccoli for free lmao so my daughter went over to him asking why he didn't just take the broccoli off the check mind u I told the waitress that I needed it extra soft being the baby was gonna eat it. He finally took the check back and took off the broccoli and just dumped the check on the table and walked away!! I've worked all my life in food service and I have NEVER experience such shit like this!! Never once did he address the fact that the lobster tail was over cooked! I have never ever left a revue let alone a bad revue but being a server myself I would have taken the meal back and had a manager take the meal off the check! I wasn't looking for a free meal only for a meal that was edible!
